  1. Ya, i agree with this too, and not because im the OP. Its because nothing has really changed much for assassins. Yes we got a really cool teleport. Yes we have recklessness up more now with re stealth and combat exits. Static charges went from 4 max to 3 max. A few talents changed, definitely. But the play style? not so much. Ive been playing since launch, played every patch, and i still have the same playstyle, just with the new abilities like stealth added in, and more recklessness uptime. As for the person who said you were a necromancer, i can understand his/her point of view, this thread if def old school, and i dont really wanna update it since dulfy pretty much covers everything there is on it now, and her guides are colorful and coded, and most importantly have a table of contents haha. Only thing i dont like, is that dulfys guides are more aimed at pve.
  2. Its not really your fault. I spent hours on this back in the day and helping people in game. Got hate from a handful of people and their hate wasn't constructive. Im also unsure of what "thread necromancy" means, seeing as necromancy means talking to the dead.
  3. Thank you captain obvious. This thread was made at launch, because people kept spamming maul all day, and this was supposed to stop people from doing that... Its stated in the beginning there was an UPCOMING update for 1.4.1. Its now past 2.0. Congratulations on figuring that out. I personally still play deception (at least for pvp) and nothing old changed, just a few new things that, as you said, dulfy covers.
  4. its because hes actually a really good healer. seriously, next time you see him, see how long it takes. He knows how to play, so regardless of his elitist attitude, people will play with him if it means they get healed, and there is a higher chance of winning with a skilled healer on your team. That was my original point.
  5. Cant be. Churb actually heals well and plays objectively with his premades. Maod camps mid and puts up high numbers, but doesnt do **** for objectives. Plus, churb always has a team of people gaurding/healing him, meaning people actually play with him, i cant think of anyone who can stand maods childish attitude for more than 10 minutes.
  6. ya but churbs actually a good player.....so its kinda different.
  7. Ya, Dark Jesters are a lot nicer than people make them out to be. Its guildies like maod who give the guild a bad name. Such a shame.
  8. Hey Maod, thats pretty funny cause i was pvping with getzeitzu today and he told me about how he beat you by 100-300k every match and then you had to ask him how to min/max your class, so how can you be the best when you have to beg real pvpers like getz to hold your hand? And the GM never yelled at gage, i was listening over skype, they had a chat about you and your inappropriate behavior, and how despite the fact we all treated you nicely, and even put up with your ego for multiple matches, you treated us like crap. I honestly tried to be nice, i like giving people that chance, but some people like yourself cant seem to just chill out and enjoy swtor. Its a video game dude, get with the program. P.S quadruple means multiplied by 4, so unless you pull 1.2 mil on average a match, you need to go over your 3rd grade math again. I havent even seen people like sage'optimus pull that much yet.
  9. Thats because hes a scrub, and he refuses to duel people who he knows will kick the **** out of him. tried being nice to that guy, but he pretty much just spit it in my face. I wanna see him duel gage, that will be fun to watch
  10. well thats just the thing, they made it harder, so only a few people are currently at 450, and reaping the benefits of making MK-9s. im on shadowlands and a few days back the cheapest MK-9s were up to 400k....each.....whoever levels the skill, gets to overcharge and enjoy the cash flow. Eventually people will catch on, learn how to do it, and it will be over, but for right now, let the gold rush continue
  11. ive been playing deception almost exclusively since launch, and tried madness and darkness a few times, they dont nearly compare. A lot of deception assassins went madness pre-expac because it hit harder, i tried it, it hit alright, but it wasnt nearly as fun as deception. As decep your the stun monster, like the rogue of wow. Low slash, electrocute, spike, and then overload PLUS slow, makes us a very aggresive and annoying class. After deception got the new talent "electric ambush" ive been noticing people going decep with the expac. Im sure madness will get buffed again, or people will re roll darkness, apparently its still strong. Take your pick, but in my eyes, a real assassin plays deception, a lot more fast paced, and i hated having to place death field with my mouse, i strafe a lot. I can make a tank off set someday when i get full conqeuror, but as for now, decep is where its at for me.
  12. Hey man, its pretty much exactly the same for deception. A few new talents and the teleport ability at level 51 is pretty much all thats new. Im still using: Voltaic x2 > recklessness > shock > discharge > low slash > maul (if procced) > rinse and repeat blackout for force regen overload for knockbacks electrocute as needed interupts (jolt) as needed spike for my stealth opener assasinate when they have low HP force speed as needed Force shroud/deflection as needed (deflection is just crap if your not a tank) Overcharge saber when a quick heal is needed and great for extra dmg All in all, its the same. The only difference is stuff like overcharge saber doesnt only heal the tanks now, but DPS can get a heal from it aswell. New talent "electric ambush" (5 row up, left side) = "While surging charge is active, recklessness has a 100% chance to build 3 static charges. additionally, exiting combat reduces the active cooldown of recklessness by 60 seconds" - That is golden, im so happy bioware gave us that, putting us up with a 4 piece set bonus to the 3 charges with that talent plus the additional one from the 4 piece set, giving us a total of 4 recklessness charges, and its almost always off CD now because im always going in and out of combat. its awesome. Now when you low slash or spike, you gain the maul proc automatically, its wicked awesome. They definitely gave us some buffs, and i see alot more deception than madness now (thank god), but i have a feeling people will pull towards darkness and madness eventually either way, madness is aparently really good with maxed gear. Cheers.
  13. Why am i level 53 playing with level 30s? i swear, every match i get like 6 of them and they are basically running around like headless chickens, and me and the other 50 usually have to carry them. I do understand that if the bracket was 50-54, there wouldnt be enough people for queues, but at least make it 40-54, because in my experience level 40s were the better players back from 10-49, and i dont mind because they have more abilities, especially towards 45+, but a fresh level 30 is just so bad. And dont say "just get to 55" because i have multiple level 50s i need to level and i dont know how long i can put up with them. Again, this is just my opinion, but i feel like 10-39 and 40-54 brackets would be more comfortable, but thats just me.
  14. This post right here. When the WH and EWH sets were implemented, people got gear based on the time they put into the game. If your a new 50 and your getting smashed by EWH juggs, and you got recruit on, your problem. Tough it out for a bit, or get some geared guildies to help you out. Chances were you would have some EWH people on your team too.
  15. As proud as i am to have my current gear into my old champion set, that was the worst system ever. Basically bioware rewarding the people with no life or career who could play 10 hours a day and grind the bags, and the serious pvpers who should be able to get geared with sufficent time and effort were not rewarded as such. Im pretty sure alot of serious pvpers unsubbed for that reason.
  16. ya dude same, been getting non stop denovas and hypergates, both of which suck big time. i got one huttball in the past 4 days, and i got my a** kicked up and down, lost 6 to 0 in like 4 minutes. Its really turning me off from the game, not to mention when i wanna level my toons from 50-55 i have to deal with all the level 30-40 idiots who have no clue how to play so it feels like me and the rest of the 50-54s have to carry them. sucks. But thats swtor, gotta deal with it
  17. interesting thread. ive played with all the people listed on this thread and although they may be really good (which don't get me wrong, they really are good) they are no where near as good as the launch players from two years back, those old school impetus guys would make most of today's PvPers run home with their tails between their legs. But a lot quit, and the new people are really awesome as well. These are just observations and some honorable mentions: -Boris : PT Dps -Zico : Mara Dps -Darkyoda : Sin tank/dps (still plays i believe) -Gage : Jugg Dps (accused for hacking many times, never true) -Trickery : Operative Dps -Ba-Biceps : PT dps (not 100% sure about spec) -Lanaya : Mara Dps -Fated : Sniper -Fed : Operative Dps -Soggy : Shadow dps -Ekko : Shadow dps -Bakki : Shadow dps -Mancit : Sage heals/dps (server first rank 100, maybe boris not sure) -Volta : Sorc dps -Churb : Sage dps (total ******, but nevertheless a very good player) -Lynx : scoundrel dps -JesseJames : BH heals (he gets a spot cuz he was the only decent BH healer at launch) Again, these are all launch players so it doesn't mean much anymore, but i felt like they deserved a spot on this thread seeing as they were real champs back in the day, the people that went through the champion box opening crap, didnt rage out, and dealt with it anyways. Great players, and a lot of fun to pvp with
  18. Hey spartan great starting guide, i loved reading, and i really like how it was more enjoyable than crunching boring old numbers. my only concern is you said "having more alacrity is never a bad thing". Well to be honest it kinda is bad in a sense. the fast you cast the more you heal of course, but then you burn through your heat much much faster, i augment for Power augments and crit, that way you heal much bigger heals, and it doesnt make a difference with your heat, the alacrity you get from your base gear is more than enough. take into account this is from a PvP perspective. Cheers! - Chris
  19. I couldnt agree with you more. The legacy system was the stupidest thing ever made, and even when it came out it was only half complete for christs sake! And your right legacy is all about alts and i hate it, i want to play my 50, and paying 5 mil for a GTN? Who gives a crap! By now, we should have never had legacy, guild ships should have been out, and ranked warzones should have been live. And maybe another raid. The people who play and sub the longest are the ones bioware should cater to. Just my two cents.
  20. Rofl dude i got mostly war hero and i crit no higher than 4.8-5k dmg and the sins attacks and high crits are all single target. The rage juggernauts can build up a buff to 4 stacks and when using smash, can AoE all targets around for nearly 7k EACH. so 3-4 targets gives you 20-25k dmg in a matter of 2-3 seconds. And FYI, we suck at defending nodes, because we are super squishy,
  21. A tech attack would be something shot from the gun of a bounty hunter or agent, and force would be a sorcerers lightning, low slash is a basic melee spell and im not too sure where it categorizes, but im pretty sure it is possible to low slash a sin/shadow popping shroud.
  22. Rage juggernauts are the MOST overpowered in the game at the moment. My best friend from high school does nearly 600-700k dmg every match and me and the rest of the warzone players are in the 200k range, with full war hero. Properly speccing and playing you can AoE crit up to 7k with smash ON MULTIPLE TARGETS. I dont know if your a little kid, or just trolling, but they need a serious nerf.
  23. So, my merc just hit 50. first thing i did was buy both war hero medic blasters and got the full recruit set. Over 1.1k expertise so im not getting completely wrecked, making early 50 pvp enjoyable. Where does PvE come into all of this? I understand there is no recruit equivelant in PvE and i find this quite frustrating. If PvPrs (i am one fyi) get a free set giving them a decent 1k expertise boost and an awesome way to get started in pvp, why do PvEs have to grind flashpoints all day and maybe even que for storymode ops? those take forever because most of the people who que for them have no clue how to pve at 50, its not linear based questing anymore..... im not asking bioware to send free full sets of columi to fresh 50s (although i dont feel thats asking much) but what i want to know is why. Thanks for responses guys.
  24. im not too sure when you did an operation in swtor last, but the gear is key, and some sense of skill and understanding is needed too. for a casual questing player looking for a story based RPG that is online and social, end game will be too much to process. No one will take you for a specific run unless you have a certain level of gear, and maybe even some previous experience. And story modes are not very straightforward either, whenever new guildies hit 50, i will always tank a story mode for them to help them get some starting columi gear or something along those lines. Some get it, and some run around like headless chickens completely confused. Bottom line is, raid content is not for the typical RPGer looking for story based content. The new dread masters crap is total crap. I read about it on swtor wikia or something, and i got so bored reading about their history. Not attacking you, just my thoughts.
