  1. The only reason 236 and 242 are gold is a side affect of them changing companion gifts to gold. They used to be dark purple.
  2. Forums and subreddits are small unrepresentative populations, but everybody in game chat hates the CXP system too. It's pretty much objectively bad. No matter what type of player you are, no matter what type of content you like doing, NOBODY gets gear from this system.
  3. Its even worse than that. Green 238s at tier 3 have enhancements as good as 236 legendarys and 240 blue enhancements and even hilts/barrels are as good as purples, but all the way through the entire system the green and blue mods are garbage. It requires people to learn the difference between good and bad gear just as much or even more than before.
  4. It is really boring saving your CXP boxes to open when your side wins. It adds nothing to the gameplay. The world bosses are pretty good but its irrelevant which side wins.
  5. Someone in one of the big complaining threads did a full write up of how everything in the game could drop unassembled components. It's a much better idea than what they have planned.
  6. Its not bad luck, its average luck. This garbage system is designed to give you no loot and make you just go 'eh I guess I got bad luck' when actually everyone got bad luck because the loot is trash by design.
  7. Sorcs are the worst DPS by a massive margin. They need like an entire tier or 2 of gear higher to do the same DPS as other classes.
  8. We all know about the changes, we are already including the changes in how awful the system is.
  9. This SHOULD be possible. Even in an RNG based system you should get plenty of set pieces and the worst case scenario should be that you can't complete the set because you got multiple of the same piece. Not that you grind 90 ranks and didn't get any set pieces at all. People like the OP and Jerba probably make Bioware think that the terrible % chance is justified because they got to 300 so fast, but these people put in the work. The grinded for 6-12 hours a day doing the most efficent activities, they deserve to be rank 300.
  10. Glad you posted this after I found it on the German forum. Bioware need to know that getting 100s of boxes with complete garbage gear is not 'bad luck', it is NORMAL. If everyone gets nothing but garbage that's not just bad luck. People who actually get anything decent are exceptionally lucky, like winning the lottery. It's that bad. It's even more of a punch in the crotch when the 3 set bonuses you get are 230 legs then 234 legs then 236 legs FFS. The new system is a very small step in the right direction but it is FAR from enough. They need to DRAMATICALLY increase the % chance of set pieces from crates as well as the new system. Currently it seems to be about 4% chance of getting a set piece if that. Plenty of people are over rank 100 now, some over 180 and very few got more than 3 or 4 set pieces in the first 100 ranks. I am 158 and have got 1 good 236 relic, 1 useless 236 relic and 2 legs at tier 2. The rest was just like tier 1 80% greens with some blue.
  11. Haven't tried on Rep but heroics are definitely daily now on Imp.
  12. Probably 8 man uprisings or world bosses unfortunately.
  13. I hate conquest but I kinda like uprisings. Please add them to conquest so PVE players can get points doing something relatively fun instead of having to farm the last boss of raids every day on every alt.
  14. The problem with this system is it makes unassembled tokens too rare and valuable. People will scam, ninja and backstab each other to get them. In 4.0 the paranoia about ninjas was massively disproportionate to the actual amount of ninjas, until people started using methods to protect against ninjas (holding loot rolls till the end) to actually ninja themselves. Also a problem in 4.0 was raid groups had a few regular members and a revolving door of randoms who would play the game for a few weeks then quit, and if these people won tokens they were a complete waste of gear that committed raiders needed. With tokens being so rare, they will be an even bigger waste if some random casual you are never going to see again wins it, but unless you have loot council in the guild, technically he does have equal right to win it. This system could be a disaster unless either every boss drops tokens, or token drops use the Personal Loot system from WoW. Why can't you just have guaranteed drops, and if you really must slow gearing down then you can set the command token cost a bit higher. "Do NOT add Unassembled Gear tokens back. Make each Ops Boss drop Unassembled Components instead, like in planned PVP changes." Actually that would work too, as long as harder ops drops more components or you would just get EV/KP farming again.
  15. Command rank doesn't need to be legacy wide. First of all get your head out of the clouds as they have always said over the years that making anything legacy wide is a long difficult engineering task. You would be waiting months and months for it. This is how you gear an alt: 1) Get command rank and tokens on your main. 2) Do raids or PVP on your main to get unassembled tokens. 3) Mail the set piece and command tokens to your alt. (Repeat for all 7 set items and weapons) 4) Do Raids/PVP on your alt and buy the unassembled relics, Implants and earpice which you can't legacy mail. Done. You have easily geared your alt.Your alts command rank is completely irrelevant and has no involvement whatsoever in the process.
  16. Yes, the new system is in addition to the current system.
  17. This is a big improvement. It's good for people who like both PVE and PVP, less so for people who only like one or the other. Alts will be completely viable again. My only real problem with it is that the specific token on the last boss encourages last boss farming (like guilds do for conquest). Farming the last boss on all your alts isn't raiding. The tokens should be on the 3rd or 4th boss or something, some way of distributing tokens and CXP to encourage doing full raids instead of farming last bosses. Another point, don't listen to the babies who say this is too confusing. They are wrong. Just like before all you need to know is the name of your class set e.g. eliminator for mercenary, its that simple. In fact to help them out why have 'eliminator's set bonus' why not just call it 'mercenary damage set bonus' and 'mercenary healing set bonus'.
  18. Sounds like a a good direction but a month is a long time to wait.
  19. You would think so and that was definitely my plan before 5.0 went live but set bonuses are so incredibly rare that its best to hold on to them. At rank 300 you will probably still have some tier 2 or even tier 1 armorings. It's appropriate that they changed the color of T2 and T3 set pieces to legendary cos getting any is almost as much of a miracle as getting a legendary in WoW.
  20. Lol, since 5.0 half of the forums is just people arguing with AmericanAussie.
  21. Mercs, Sins, probably some others have OP reflect abilities now so they can cheese it.
  22. If they want people to just do what content they like instead for the most efficient they need to make content actually rewarding. Not need to do hundreds of that content per week to gear in a year and only get greens in every crate.
