This.. If this weren't the case then I would be seeing ton of other Ops doing 1500+dps in regs. But that generally doesnt happen. Honestly it is more a testament to how overtuned PT burst, and madness/hatred pressure is in arena. Because it can shine in 8's even against organized premades.

People are always crying "ERRRHHMERHHGERDDD TANKS N HEALZ OP!!!¿!¿! NURF PLOX!! NO ONE DIES" The real problem is no one know how to dps. Had a voidstar a couple days ago against 4 healers and a tank. each healer did at least 2 mil healing.. 2 of them broke 3 mil. So that was ~10mil healing with a tank that did over 1mil prot. Guess which team had more kills? Ours did because we had 5 competent dps, 2 that were subpar, and 1 healer that did ~2.5mil healing. 2 of the 3 top dps in the game were maras; (myself and a friend) both were playing smash, and followed each others targets. And a merc that often followed us as well.... Srs though getting 2k dps is hard guis and using focus target is wayyy to complicated... Nerf guard and heals plox

The class is in a good place right now; If you play smart. Charging by yourself into 3+ ranged and expecting to live more than 5 seconds is a L2P issue. I have zero issues wwhen i play.. 95% of the time im top 3 on damage, while still having a solid OBJ score. No problem pulling 1800-2k dps in regs, and 2200+ in arenas... playing any of the 3specs The only thing it isn't really viable for any more is 4's... And unless you are a PT, sorc, sin, or HIGHly skilled sniper right now; then you dont really have a place in 4s as dps.

If you are serious you then you probably need to try using keybinds, and using an ability on every global cooldown.

This... Although personally I run 3 alacrity enhancements. For the simple reason of the remaining 258 surge I could get only gives me a bit over 2% surge. It doesn't really increase burst by any noticeable amounts. While alacrity, even if it doesn't feel like it is doing much, is a ~1:1 % to % damage increase. You are talking a probably 1.25-1.6% difference in overall dps vs using full surge. Plus running 3 alacrity enhancements nets you a bonus .2 energy regen. It basically comes down to personal preference on if you use full surge or alacrity. Of course I don't need it, but I upgrade every 2-3 years. The performance jump that i will get compared to my old cards is well worth the price tag. Plus it is under a thousand... I've spend that in a night buying rounds at the bar.

IMO All you can do for anyone that complains about the roll, is tell them to try playing it at lvl 60... then to come back and cry about it. Against anyone that knows what they are doing, it can be effectively countered. Oh and the ROLL bug still exists. Even just yesterday I somehow managed to be roll bugged while playing concealment.... which should be impossible since you are immune, but biologic. GG

Yeah the burst will get better at 56 when you pick up meticulously kept blades. It used to be available lower in the skill tree. So yeah hold out a bit longer. A fun tip for healing as well. As long as you have 2 stacks of kolto probe up, casting it again will cause it to tick on cast. So if you watch for its healing to pop, then recast, you can get 2 ticks close together. Also roll --> kolto pr --> roll ---> kolto pr can be a decent recovery technique; especially if you are running a couple % of alacrity and stim boost is up. 1gcd around ~1.38 seconds with roll immunity lasting 2 seconds.

Top 96 refers to top 3 players from each class/their mirror from solo and grouped. It is worldwide, not per server Hope that clears things up for you.

You were getting heals from the sorc that was in combat, and the sorc never left combat. Thats what kept you from dropping. If you ever get into a wz with an anni mara... Good luck getting back in stealth without cloaking screen.
