  1. Actually, you can. If you own a Stronghold or have a key to one, you can port to it, hop on your ship, and fly wherever you want to. Note that it'll interrupt your story progression, but you'll generally pick up where you left off (just as in the regular class stories). Guild Strongholds and/or Flagships work as well. *Edit* You can also "escape" the storyline, and it'll put you back on fleet.
  2. I didn't see this posted yet (I did do a quick search), but there are three codex entries within the Yavin Stronghold. Screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/bIy2a Grab your Macrobinoculars and look at the ruins
  3. Give it a little bit. It'll show up in an email.
  4. Thanks. I'm starting to adjust mods/etc with this in mind. Just finished Ziost on both 60 toons, and can already see the difference. Thank you all.
  5. Nm... shows up on my Jedi, but not my smuggler, so it appears there's some pre-requisites I still need to do on my Smuggler
  6. At the mission console?!? I don't have ANYTHING for Ziost there .... it won't even activate for me now. Nothing in my quest log either! Or do I need to finish SoR and Oricon first?
  7. Accuracy on my Smuggler (Scoundrel) is 826 currently, though I'm finding it difficult to adjust that with the mods I can currently afford. I'm trying to keep the total above 100% (I've already seen the difference in both PvE and PvP OW). I'll hit ZIost next and see where that takes me. Thanks again
  8. Thanks all I haven't done anything in Ziost yet, so I'll be looking at that next. Dulfy got me where I'm at now, and I can hold my own on a couple of toons without issue no matter the FP ... Ops, however ... heh. THANK YOU! I HATE Mox lol. But it's the one my last guild played with. I'll check it out. So after you finish Yavin, the general progression would be to hit the regular dailies, as well as Ziost, etc? I'm still not sure where Ziost fits into all that (the game doesn't exactly point you there in the class quests, though it SHOULD!!!)
  9. I'm an old timer (was present on launch date), but left SWTOR shortly after my third guild dissolved many years ago. I came back briefly with the Stronghold expansions, but never really did much. With the 12x XP, I've returned, revisiting classes I've never played before, and I now have 2 level 60s, and another 3 about to hit 60, with 2 older original toons at 50 and 55 as well which I may or may not try to level up. My gear on most of my 60s thus far is either the 172s or 186s. I downloaded Mox earlier tonight, and ran against the operations dummy in my ship and at fleet to see where my DPS is at on my Smuggler and Sentinel. The Smuggler DPS was a solid 1400.1 over about 3 minutes of rotations. My Sentinel was at 1800~ (fluctuated quite a lot though, so I'm still trying to figure that one out). I know I'm not geared enough yet for what most people want, but am I at least viable, or am I getting close? At least for operation level stuff. What should I be aiming for so I don't have to put up with the inevitable BS I'd get in PuGs? I was able, in my last guild a couple of years ago, to hold my own in FPs and at least one Op because I knew the battle and new my class, even though I was grossly undergeared (died a lot, but it was almost always saving the healer at the last second, allowing the guild to progress to the next boss ... in other words, I'm not afraid to die ). I never did most of the 50 FPs and Ops back in the day ... I was more a PvP'er back then. But since I haven't done many of the Ops, I'd like to start trying soon. I'm an unguilded player (and not really interested in being guilded right now per se ... just a personal preference because I'm a single father of a 7-year old, and my time to play is rather odd and not consistent). But I adapt quickly on the fly. I'd just like to know a general ballpark I should be aiming for. I've been doing TONS of research, but much of my Google-Fu is finding old, outdated stuff. A few threads I've seen more recently leads me to believe I'm on the right track, and/or close to being viable. Any advice?
  10. It also helps to stay as mobile as possible. I play a Darkness spec, and solo'd him quite easily at 46 by running around a lot and popping the Heroic at around 33% health. By keeping his aggro on you rather than Talos, your companion can whittle him away a bit. Also keep a 3600 health pack on you, and don't forget to pop a stim ahead of time.
  11. Darkness Falls ROCKED, hardcore. I can't count the number of times I gained access and stealthed through all the mobs to get to enemy territory, just to kick them out. Even led a few squads to insure Hibernia had total and unrestricted access to it. Definitely Ilum should have some sort of objective based system in order to accomplish the same type of scenario. Perhaps bases on certain key Open World Planets could determine which side has access. The problem with the population distribution (on my server as in most others, Empire vastly outnumbers Republic) needs to be taken into account. Such a dynamic would allow lower level players to contribute to the Galactic War, and allow higher level players some interesting end-game PvP content (as well as raid-level PvE content). Can't count the number of times I've been on the Foundry FP thinking, "Wouldn't it be cool if I suddenly ran into a Republic group, and had to fight over the FP?" After all, they have the mission too, from a different perspective. PvE style raids are just mechanics ... once you learn the mechanics, you're assured victory ... PvP raids, on the other hand, are completely up-in-the-air, since they are so unpredictable ... I'd LOVE that! Same with Black Talon ... I'm fighting all these Republic personnel, but see no PvP action there ... could make for a more dynamic (and sometimes disappointing) experience for us PvPers, outside of WarZones.
  12. "Living with Decapitation of your Father," by Boba Fett, subtitled "And What not to do in Jabba's Employ." "I'd Rather Kiss a Wookie," Leia's unauthorized biography. "Father/Son Day at Work: What Went Wrong," by Darth Vader. "Speeder Training on Endor, A Stormtrooper's Guide to Avoiding Trees," by anonymous Stormtrooper. "How to Inspire the Youth of the Republic Rebellion," by Gold Leader (published posthumously). "Womprats are like Exhaust Ports: How Luke Inspired Me," by Wedge Antilles. "Slaves and Bikinis: An Overlord's Guide," by Jabba the Hutt (published posthumously).
  13. Public back-lash, for the most part. I don't mind them being there with a CD timer (that was actually great, IMO).
  14. Corner of the minimap (upper right corner)
  15. The option to do so is in preferences > Social, I believe (I may be wrong ... it's been awhile since I've had to set it). Can help power level an alt to the ship very quickly, or help you on that very difficult boss fight even though you're at level and just can't seem to beat it. Plus, it's fun for your friend if he/she hasn't experienced that class yet. My guild uses it to help level 50s finish up their final class quests. Fun for everyone, and it's been a guild tradition since inception.
  16. I'm a casual player (limited to about 8 hours a week at best atm, if I'm lucky). I have zero issues leveling. I've only done 3 FPS (BT, BP, and Foundry). True, I PvP a lot, but that's usually to gain the last bit of experience to level, or while I'm doing crafting, which has been my focus of late. Tonight, in just 2 hours of play (probably a lot less), I got half a bar of experience just running a few quests on Hoth. I already have a level 50 from back when I could play much more often, so even this slow pace isn't a big deal to me. I haven't done a single heroic save one, and that was by accident (falling into the heroic next to the boss, gaining the quest, and killing him to complete it ) What I do? Sit back, play, and not worry about leveling. It'll happen when it happens. Low-pop servers can be brutal (thankfully I'm not on one), but that seems to be your ultimate issue. Reroll on a heavier server. Heck, if you roll on Wound in the Force, my guild will set you up nicely for all levels. We even have a sister-guild on the other faction that is a carbon copy as far as our temperament and strengths (that guild was started by friends of mine who didn't want to play Empire ... we're now recruiting members of both guilds who want to play alts of an opposing faction, so no one ever has to be "alone").

  18. Regarding leveling artifice, this article was handy for me, and got me through it in no time: http://www.swtor-holo.net/swtor-crafting-skills/swtor-artifice-leveling-guide.html. Easy break down guide of ONLY what to purchase. I stopped leveling at 38 (for the most part) to level it to 400, with only an occasional WZ or mission. Hit 400 when I hit 39, and 400 on one of my gathering skills at 40. Now I'm scrambling to return to questing for cash flow, and playing the market. Note: If you can craft the level 20 Custom Lightsaber with an augment, it can sell for a handy profit. But be warned you'll need a bit of cash ahead of time in order to get even one (I spent 30 tries trying for just one, and then got 5 of them within just a few hours). Luckily I don't have to worry too much about money or mats, as my guild is a "share the wealth" kind of guild. If someone's having an issue, and someone else has cash or mats to spare, we make things happen. Other than that, everything everyone else has said is true. For what it's worth, I've been in your boat on 2 toons so far, and I still haven't learned
  19. Take a look at your off-hand damage stats on the main Character screen (Offense). That will tell you where you're at. Better stats will get you better results on that, but they'll never be "up to par" with the main hand. *Edit* and yes, keep your main hand as close to max as you can.
