  1. Other players interfering can be considered PVP. So that would be fine for PVP servers (and you can kill them, because they are flagged), but should not be ok on PVE servers. Having someone pull and reset bosses, and not even flagging for it, can be considered griefing.
  2. They should just link all the GTNs... It is "galactic" after all... There is no reason to separate the community more. Separate factions are good for PVP, but it can hurt other parts of the game... Like the market for example.
  3. But at least they fixed Xalek so he can benefit from shield absorb and shield rating!!! Actually, they have not fixed that bug either... I agree with the OP, there are many, many bugs that should have been fixed ages ago...
  4. Well, OP is right... Companion should mimic your dance when you target him and /dance, or any other dance command... Heck, he should mimic your every move if you target him and do an emote... I also agree with the other stuff.
  5. What would determine a failure? if it starts losing money (EA would close it, hence, it failed). Why would it lose money? because subscribers go down. Why do subscribers go down? Because they get bored with the game. Why do people get bored with the game? This one actually has too many answers for it, and it varies from person to person. Personally, I have to agree with others that the game is just missing stuff. Sure, it's a good game, but it's already competing against many other games that offer a very similar type of environment. I think it just needs more to be able to stand out from the crowd. Games today do not have to be good to succeed, they have to be GREAT to succeed.
  6. No need to get on OPs case, or judge him. He's just asking a question. Is there a bonus? No, there isn't. Would it be good to have one (cosmetic item)? Probably yes.
  7. Hum... Good point, I thought patch 1.2 was going go add different versions for those items (light/med/heavy)? Forgot to check last time I logged in...
  8. Republic of gamers... My dad has one of those, but with the 560GM video card. It runs everything on high, and runs well... However, WZs run incredibly slooooooow.... Not sure if it is just too much crap that comes factory installed, so I did a clean install of windows 7, but have not tried it after that... My dad got bored, and runs the game on his desktop with 4GB memory, and lesser video card runs much better At least, try updating drivers from nvidia directly, not ASUS, and see if that helps. I'll see if I can get him to try the game again, see if the clean install worked.
  9. It's not misleading, it is quite clear. "You must have an active subscription", etc, etc. It may be a money grab, but it is quite clear.
  10. Not sure what the elegant modified parts are, but we do have custom (orange gear, but shown as green recipes) gear for droids. They are pretty low level, but completely customizable. I crafted a few, and even got some with augment slots. They are shown as green recipes, not orange. Is that what you are referring to? or something else?
  11. I think it is good without auto-attack. I do not think the game is slower or unresponsive, or anything like that without it.
  12. Completely agree... This just separates the community even more. There is no reason for 2 separate markets. The only good thing 2 factions are good for is PVP. Everything outside that should be shared.
  13. I like the color scheme as well, but yeah, the separation between posts is kind of hard to see. I'm sure I'll get used to it though...
  14. 1.2? Hum... lots of feelings. The included a lot of things that were outright needed. UI being one of them. Good work there. Unfortunately, UI modifications does not add any longevity to the game, it's not new content. Legacy... Well, excellent ideas. The execution is a bit late on one side, and too expensive on the other side. I understand a gold sink, but that one is excessive :S This also adds more perks, but no real content. Guild bank. This is pretty much needed, so good to bring it out... On the down side, 600K for the 1st tab? 1st tab should be free. 600K is ok for lots of players at lvl 50, but for a guild with new players, or players not even 50, 600K is far too much. Also, this is another perk, no real content. New WZ, fp, op, that's good. Have not tried them, but more content is good. Can't comment if the content is good or bad though. Bugs... Come on... Companions not getting stats from earpieces and implants until re-equipped? Come on... I know bugs are expected, but not big ones... So there are some things that I really believe should have been there from the start, some features badly implemented, and some new content. Oh, and bugs... Over all, I'm not feeling incredibly good about it
  15. Is it an exact 4 hour timer? That sucks... Should have a random factor (4.5hrs +/- 60m for example).
  16. This is not something you should worry about. Just play the game and have fun. This is something BW should be worried about... They have to do all they can to keep people in the game and happy if they do not want to be shut down.
  17. I would vote for this as well. I know many people do not like it, and it would seem to be more "complex" for the player. But with the proper automated tools (auto instance swapping to friends, system tries to group guilds together, etc), then it could work well, and you would never be in an empty server, or an overpopulated one... Such concept would cease to exist. Also, they would need to be big instances for that to work... 200+ people or so. Small instances would not work.
  18. Well, I do have to agree with the OP to some extent. We are not all the same, we are all different players. So some of us can get bored with this game, while others do not. I'm also getting a bit bored, simply because there is no large scale PVP. The game world does not feel alive, even on PVP servers. BW went out of their way to separate the factions... I think they went too far. We need more mingling between the factions. They are far too separated... MMO designers cannot provide infinite content, but players can... There are just too few ways to make a better community in this game.
  19. I have to agree with other about the implementation. There are good F2P models, and there are bad ones. And the model should never be P2W (pay to win). A bad F2P model (which is P2W in the end) is really bad bad... Would I play SWTOR in a F2P model? Not sure, I'm cancelling my subscription because I'm bored with the game, not because of the money. So it all comes down to the quality of the game. I played WoW and paid for it for 6 years, no problems. I also played EVE for 4 years, no issues either. So I have no problem with the subscription model, but the game better be good.
  20. I looked over the legacy gear, and it's kind of standard... Nothing really worth it. However, they do sell full sets of orange gear including (belts and bracers) that are bind on legacy so can be mailed to other characters. There is even a lvl 10 set, so that is worth it... Those are pretty expensive though...
  21. I think they did good. And the expansion to include more people into the 30 extra days was also good (even giving a small grace period). I think it was a good move to right a wrong. Well done.
  22. EA is a business, and the point is to make money. No single move they do is made with the intention of losing money. I'm sure they have a lot to gain with it, so they did it. If TOR ever starts losing them money, they will close it on the spot. They are not here to make us happy, or make us favors, they are here to make money. And as long as TOR is running, it will make them money.
  23. ... What? Hum... It's in the terms of service that they do not have to give anything for downtime, yet they did. Where is the problem here again?
  24. Thanks for making things better, and expanding the definition of a valued and loyal customer. This sounds a bit more like a veteran reward this way. Thanks.
  25. That's not the problem really. It's fine if they came out and said they are giving free days for the people that have been 50 to compensate for the lack of content. That is one thing. It's another thing to say they are giving free days to the lvl 50s because they are loyal and valued customers... Both things end up being practically the same (lvl 50s get free days), but the way it is said is completely different one from the other. They way they said it implies a lot. And not in a good way. That's the main problem.
