  1. There is a thread I started in the suggestion box. We should move this conversation over there, where it should get more attention from bioware Edit: Added Link http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=216284
  2. It would be hard to stay up there, you only have 1 minute before you get booted from the WZ. I think if you can keep the ball up there for a minute though, more power to you. When their team gets to you and you get pulled down you better throw the ball away fast or you're basically giving away points.
  3. There is a thread about this in the PvP forum and one I started in the healer forum but it needs to be said. A healer, doing their job as best they can, receives fewer rewards than even the mediocre DPS. Because of the Trauma debuff it is extremely difficult to get the 300k healing medals and we get credit for kills less often than other roles (because we aren't constantly pumping out damage). When a match ends I am ok with being a medal or two behind, I guess. But the fact of the matter is you can heal your butt off and finish with 4 medals with the average for the DPS/Tanks coming in around 7-9. Something has got to give. I suggest either lowering the threshold on the healing medals (to something like 50k, 100k, 200k, 300k), or expanding what we are given credit for (shielding people gives no benefit for Sages/Sorcs for instance).
  4. Dude... the force out rule was pulled from the books like 5 seasons ago. Keep up.
  5. I feel you on that. The terrain hazards and such are a real pain in the ***, but I mean... that's Huttball.
  6. That is a bug, this is a tactic. There is a difference. The end results may be the same, but your example is specifically counter to the rules of Huttball, where as the OP is complaining about the rules.
  7. Huttball is a game specifically MADE for Dbag tactics! It's got hazards, pits, and all kinds of ways to screw people over. Why not one more?
  8. Seriously, though? People still don't know what constitutes a TD?
  9. You should watch all 3 links. The last one is Michael Vick on the Eagles in 2011. Edit: Just in case 1 wasn't enough, here's Matt Stafford getting one, too. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/09000d5d825cd89c/Stafford-dives-it-in
  10. That is not true at all. The play of OVER once the ball crosses the plane. This is why you can dive from outside of the end zone, out of bounds, and as long as the ball crosses from inside the pylon it is considered a touchdown. You need more proof? Pylon TDs are a HUGE thing on youtube. I can find a dozen more. These players NEVER touch inside the endzone. As long as the BALL crosses the plane they get the TD.
  11. That does not and should not matter. If you walk into a bank and a teller starts handing you money, you can, will and should be arrested for walking out with it. If someone leaves their car on the street with the doors wide open and the engine running you can, will and should be arrested for driving off with it. I don't know about your server but it was pretty openly discussed in general chat on Hedarr Soong that this was obviously not working as intended. Several people expressed that they didn't care because it was Bioware's fault and so they went ahead exploiting the flaws. Now they will have to deal with the consequences.

  13. This shows your fundamental lack of understandng about Sorc healing. When you go all out your run yourself out of energy, pop your probe and you have no real energy regen mechanics for another minute or two. When I go all out I channel innervate (a moderate heal), then pop consumption for free, toss up my shield, my big heal, and channel/consumption again. This healing rotation, done with perfect, 0 lag timing is a net loss of 1 Force every cycle. If you hesitate for even 1 second during the rotation you gain more force than you lose.
  14. Before you start HMs you want to make sure all of your gear and mods are in the 45-50 range, definitely closer to 50. PvP gear makes a decent stopgap if you are really pressed. HM BT is definitely the easiest, I would say FE is the next in terms of difficulty. If you are having trouble with HM BT/FE though I would suggest running normal Ilum/FE until you get all level 50 gear.
  15. Apparentlyeither your tank friends suck or you are not a very good healer. The hms with very few exceptions ars extremely easy to heal. For most bosses the enrage timer is not even an instant wipe. They just don't hit very hard if you are keeping your shield and armor buffs up.
  16. You need to do more than just stare at health bars. Healing should not be the sole deciding factor in pvp. Try moving, knocking them back off you, having someone taunt them off you or just plain stunning them back. The short version? Learn to play.
  17. Mercs/commandos do have the tools to be competitive but the most obvious sorc advantages (shield/brez) are just that. Obvious. My shield absorbs almost 4k damage. The merc 5% heal buff offsets that but not in nearly so grand a fashion.
  18. That's... not the way the world works. Emergencies are created by periods of low tank HP. To get to this point someone needs to hit your tank in such a way as to eliminate a large portion of their HP, either through steady connections or large single hits. Unless the situation is such that the attack is 100% predictable (some bosses charge attacks), you are better off keeping the shield up at all times as this will stop the emergency from happening in the first place. Saving it until they are low on HP is dumb because if you used it proactively they wouldn't BE low on HP.
  19. OP makes a terrible guide. Here is his build for those who can actually use a talent calculator: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#201rRrRrdbdGzZfZbM.1 And here is a build for people with a lick of sense: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#201GGrRbd0dGzZf00MZoM.1 Notice, you aren't dumping points into comsumption, because really it's pretty much always free, you pick up the extra points in static barrier, because it's the best mitigation tool ever, and you leave out the pointless slow on Affliction, since you have other (read:better) ways to slow people. OP should probably learn to heal before making a guide on how to heal.
  20. I mean, you CAN blow up the stations, can't you? I normally like to blow all the hardpoints off a ship, but I can understand wanting the satisfaction of an explosion animation. What really bothers me is that the corellian corvettes will continue to fire even after you blow off all the hard points. Like there is some guy hanging out of a port hole with a blaster just popping shots at you.
  21. Man this would be awesome. I recently got my first alt to spaceship level. With just the first round of upgrades I was able to do Sarapin Assault the second it opened, including destroying the command bridge of the ship, with well over a minute to spare. The next minute was just me flying around putting republic star ships on manufacturer back order. If you can complete ALL of the bonus missions on a map you should get to jump out early. It would also help people determine if they have done everything in a mission or if they are still missing hidden objectives. Last thing I'd want is for them to give bonus credits for the bonus missions at 50. Otherwise they're just something to pass the time while I'm waiting for main objectives to appear.
  22. I would like a Free Month, sure. I also want enough money to finish my Ph.D., a 5 hour work day, and a brand new car. Considering how little AA matters to the game experience I expect them all to come at about the same time.
  23. 1) Disagree all you want, the fact of the matter is that enrage mechanics are NOT a response to recount, nor is a meter necessary to beat an enrage timer, however if you are NOT beating the timer that meter is extremely useful in determining why. Without it there is simply no way of gauging the individual performances inside of a group. And it turns out that sometimes that is important. Your solution is to remove the enrage timers (make the fights easier). My solution is to figure out who is not doing their share and either correct them or remove them. 2) Is this one of those thing where you feel like guns create criminals, too? Jerks will be jerks, ninja will be ninja and killers will be killers. If you limit everyone else's access to tools because some people misuse them you are doing it wrong. The same guy that's making fun of you for low DPS on the meter would just find something else to be a dick about. The same people who don't care enough to be a dick in other ways aren't magically going to manifest the jerk-gene because you showed them how much you are underperforming. 3) DBM has nothing to do with the conversation. Completely left field, read the thread title. Your contention is that recount/meters will be a way for some players to abuse others. If that is grounds for keeping it out why not remove all ways that players can abuse each other? By opting for a blanket ban on meters you are opting for a blanket ban on a topic of conversation, essentially. One that is important to the play of a lot of people (apparently). 4) Recount has nothing to do with boss mechanics or how you manage them. It is a measuring stick and nothing more. It does not tell you how to play, where to move, when to move, when to DPS on/off, when to interrupt, what to interrupt, who to heal, how to heal, when to heal, what heal to use, how to gain threat, when to gain threat, when to dump threat or anything else. But, when something goes wrong... when a group is consistently hitting enrage timers and everyone swears they are doing the most damage they can, how exactly would YOU recommend we determine who the weakest link is?
  24. You know, upon further review, I don't even need to see their DPS for myself. I just want some way that players can measure their own personal performance in a fight, so people know if they are the damn problem or not. I just want SOME WAY to know who is falling behind.
