  1. Yeah, more static groups of interconnected mobs (basically cardboard cut outs waiting to be knocked over); more dailies (really, dailies again?!); crafting as deep as my my computer screen (crafting has potential to be a game within itself); dead environments (how can you have a dead game world in Star Wars?! You'd almost have to try to make it like that); no reason to explore, no where to explore........ bah, on and on. Basically the old MMORPG formula is dead. Elder Scrolls online looks to be following the same path and will die a quick death too. Somebody needs to do something new, with a reason to keep our attention. Not some tired, old, re-done a hundred times, booooooooooring formula. GW2? Dunno, haven't tried the demo. I never played SWG, but like the ideas it seems to have had, just with modern day advancements. I don't have the answer, but this re-tread EQ/WoW formula is over.
  2. Perfectly stated. I think I'm done with MMO's for a bit. I can't understand how I possibly EJOYED WoW for all that time. It's like chewing aluminum foil now.
  3. I think you had a large group of people like myself who were already bored but were hoping for something special out of 1.2, saw it, said stuff different day, and then unsubbed. Off to D3 and hoping GW2 will keep my interest for awhile. I know I'll at least get my $$ worth out of both games as opposed to paying a sub to be bored with the same old MMO grind month after month.
  4. Don't copy a dying genre and try something more original with one of the potentially greatest IPs ever?
  5. Hey, I have a GREAT idea. Lets copy a slowly dying game but not make it quite as good, add voice overs, and pray nobody will notice they're playing an old, outdated, overplayed, boring game. And when we lose almost half a million subs in a quarter, act like all is well. Nobody will notice. Who's on board to invest? Send cash please.
  6. It's my fault for not realizing how quickly I would become bored by the old EQ/WoW formula. Bugs, lack of certain established features (decent LFG tool, good AH tools, viable crafting), etc I could handle knowing that usually these issues can be worked out and upgraded. It's just the whole formula has become SO stale... boring. The entire MMORPG genre needs a new direction. I knew this would be WoW in space with some neat new toys. I was hoping it would re-capture my attention for years like WoW did. I actually don't regret my purchase! I got 5 months out of the game with one of those months being free. I know BW wants me to stay though and that just won't happen. Too much 2004 going on here.
  7. WoW burnout has caused me to cancel my subscription. So for me, after taking in all this game has to offer, I can't stand to log in anymore, just like I was with WoW, because SWTOR is the same dang game. Yes, yes, there are a few differences, but lets face it, at it's core, we have WoW in space with some well done stories. If leveling alts is so important, so we can see these stories play out, why are we again forced to watch 90 percent repeated content? That's not the way to keep my interest. New character? Then give me a completely different experience leveling to 50. Or at least significantly different. I've tried to level multiple alts only to burn out somewhere around mid way... just can't stand to listen to/do the same quest yet again. The next MMO that comes out with "dailies" as some sort of viable end game mechanic I will not purchase from the start. What a boring, mindless grind mechanic. Come on, there HAS to be a better way then dailies. Packs of mobs just standing there dotting the landscape? Ugh, c'mon. They should at least roam or something. Interaction with the world around them. Not some cardboard cut outs waiting for me to knock over. Zero depth crafting/professions? Crafting could almost be a game itself if done properly. Raiding I do enjoy, but even that runs out of steam pretty quickly. I was lucky enough to have a solid guild that kept my interest in the game longer then it would have. More variety to raid mechanics would be very helpful. Not the repeated mechanics we rely on now. I understand balancing this would be very, very difficult but that's what I'd like to see. And why is tuning content so often based around increased stress on healers? I think the answer is that in this type of game, WoW 2.0, it's the easiest way. If SWTOR had come out first, I probably would have played this for years, got bored and quit, tried WoW when it came out hoping for that old magic, then quit in a few months out of boredom. I would have said WoW is just SWTOR with a fantasy skin. GW2? If it's different at it's core, I'll give it a go. Still looking for that original WoW magic! I fear it's gone.
  8. Well the raid sure could... just drop the mercs and bring in the Sorc healer instead. Issue solved. Really wish I was joking.
  9. Couple of points: What would possess them to further the gap between Sorc healers and BH healers? I just can't figure that one out. It was bad enough before, now it's going to be worse. and Why is it companies think making healing more stressful (like it already isn't the most stressful job in these kinds of MMOs) equates to making healing more fun?
  10. Ya, this sums it up for me. I first heard about BH healing getting a slight buff with our AOE to bring us somewhat in line with the all mighty Sorc healers and thought, ok, maybe I won't have to ditch my BH main. Then I see the patch notes and my jaw hits the floor. Really BW? Really? Now you're going to make the gap between BH and Sorc healing even larger? Good thinking! Off to power level my Sorc healer. He's 33 now. I can hit 50 pretty quick. I'm sure my guild will be happy.... especially after 1.2. When does GW2 hit again?
  11. 100% agree. I actually really enjoy healing on my BH just because the mechanics themselves are different enough from my healers in the game that shall not be mentioned. And I'm certainly able to heal well enough on my BH through end game so far. However, even at a relatively low level, I can already see the healing power gap between my sorc alt and my BH. Hopefully 1.2 will get the two classes a bit closer in ability. I won't even care if the BH is still a little gimped compared to the sorc, just because he's fun to play. The gap now is just too much to ignore.
  12. Ya, I was wondering how how any merc healer couldn't have experienced this. If you ever run with a Jug tank, you're going to see it, even if it's only for a moment before they get the mob back. Anyway, the static barrier comparison is interesting. One more reason to hurry up and level my Sorc and switch my already geared merc to dps instead.
