  1. Arena isn't even a gear issue to me, it's a class balance issue. Currently I have no problem with Ops/Scoundrels being able to jump out ever 2-3 minutes and gib someone in world PvP/WZ. The game is balanced in such a way that this 1 kill is not game breaking under most circumstances. Add in 2v2/4v4 battles and suddenly it is. Likewise, the invulnerability of something like a Sorc Healer/PT Tank combo isn't a problem because the objective of the battle is not to kill those two players. Even if they're standing on top of the middle turret in Alderaan, you just move off and get the other two. Arena games change the fundamental balance of all of the classes involved because no you need to design around what is essentially a 2nd game. I don't care about Arena gear, but getting nerfs to a class over this 2nd tier meta is exactly the problem that every other game that has tried to balance small unit PvP/large unit PvP/E has run into.
  2. It's not that simple. You don't just ban the hacker. You need to watch the behavior of the toon to determine exactly HOW they are hacking, break the functionality of their hack, THEN ban them. Otherwise you just end up with people continually hacking.
  3. I... don't understand. The gear from the champ bags is a BONUS reward. You aren't earning it, you're earning the commendations. It's SUPPOSED to take a long time.
  4. Um... I've unbound it no problem. I even rebound it then unbound it again to make sure I wasn't going crazy. Make sure you hit "unbind" and then "apply"?
  5. That's not true. You gain the full value of Alacrity no matter what, but every point of power gained is only worth 70% of it's PvE value.
  6. You got caught in the open by 2-3 enemy players. You DESERVE to die. Flashing lights and the smell of sulfur aside, any 3v1 is going to tear you apart.
  7. ALL THE TIME! It seems like 6-0 wins don't count for the daily so I make sure that last point never scores. 5-0 and farm. It's great. Especially since my new play style is good for 6-7 medals a game.
  8. The point of alacrity is to allow you to cast the clutch heal faster, not improve your ability to sustain healing. It is on the PvP gear because PvP shows you the situation you need it for more often than PvE. When you have someone still taking damage and low on health it is important to cast the heal as quickly as possible, regardless of the cost of that heal. I am not advocating that alacrity is the best stat ever, just that increasing regen through it is imbalancing to the nature of the finite resource mechanics in this game. the entire point is that your pool never goes up, never comes back faster and is generally something that cannot be min/maxed, only managed.
  9. Founder <name> would look dumb. <name>, Founder 4Lyfe
  10. That's terrible logic. Either you need to cast heals every single opportunity, in which case Alacrity helps keep people alive, OR you don't, in which case you wasting resources is bad play on your part, not a flaw in the stat. Also, not every stat is good for every spec. There is op/smug gear with alacrity because they share a loot tier with Snipers/Gunslingers. There is Commando/Merc gear with alacrity because it does help for the Arsenal/correlary specs. It is a good stat for some people in that gear list. If it's not good for you, ust don't wear it.
  11. It is a pretty good stat for sorc healers. Faster DI/Innervate means better throughput. It's tertiary until your crit gets to a decent level and secondary to power after that, but considering how enhancements work, it has it's place. Also, in PvP it is the best way to enhance your healing throughput. By virtue of allowing you to heal more often, not for larger numbers, it is technically he only stat not hamstrung by the trauma debuff.
  12. Dark infusion before consumption. Remembert that your 8/sec regen is always on. If you save consumption for last the total cost of the rotation is 1 force, assuming you are superhuman fast on every single spell.
  13. It gets much easier with expertise. It not only counters the healing debuff but also reduces incoming damage. It makes healing/living easy.
  14. What problem? The fact that MMOs aren't made for instant gratification?
  15. Well, let's use my current leftovers as the example and just do the math, huh? 4 Balmorra = 2 Nar Shadaa + the 2 I already have = 2 Tatooine + the 9 I already have = 5 Alderaan + the 17 I've still got of those = 11 Taris + the 18 left overs = 14 Quesh + 4 = 9 Hoth + 8 = 8 Belsavis + 10 = 9 Voss + 10 = 9 Corellia Soooo, the system of upgrading does mean that I get 1/2 of the commendations I need for my offhand before I even get to Corellia, and that is without even trying to stockpile them. Now try to figure out how many commendations you would not be going through if this was an option and tell me again how I'll end up with "1/2 a commendation"
  16. Buy mods for alts or something, or stop accepting commendations as rewards for every quest. Allowing them to be converted disincentivises spending them when they are level appropriate. It encourages hoarding them until max level and dumping them all on Corellia for a quick gear up.
  17. Actually, no one but mods has the ability to remove your posts, but judging from the way you type I suspect you didn't hit the "submit" button. Anyway, it is not even that healers do less, it is that healers do not get credit for what they do. They contribute to kills by keeping everyone alive but unless they actually do damage they do not get any credit for the kill. Likewise, healing ball carriers does not give objective points in Huttball. Healers contribute as much (more) than anyone else. It's just that their contributions are not rewarded.
  18. The game doesn't need mods or macros, it just needs a more refined UI. Being able to bind a key to "mouse over +" or move the UI (coming soon) is more than enough. At the end of the day, though, most cosmetic choices are just that. Cosmetic. Not every game must be moddable to the point of being unrecognizable.
  19. A global LFG (a la FFXI) would be nice. An autogrouping tool that just stick you all together and ports you to the dungeon would suck. I like control over who I group with and the current system or a manual system gives that in a way that an automatic system just does not. Vote to kick was/is a piece of garbage system. With only 3 people voting it's even worse because either 2-1 votes (i.e. 1 guy and his friend) are enough to kick you or you need unanimous votes (which is a completely different headache). Yes. I'm an elitist *****. And because I'm such a horrible person I enjoy being able to kick the tank that doesn't hold aggro, the healer who doesn't keep everyone up or the DPS who just can't manage to beat an enrage timer. I enjoy meeting new people. I enjoy grouping with pugs. I enjoy adding people to my friend's list so I can message them about FPs later. I just also enjoy kicking the scrubs out and marking down their name so I never have to group with them again.
  20. MVPs get 1 extra commendation/vote I thought. You're really so butthurt that no one voted for you?
  21. Yes. Medals give you a boost to both your valor and your commendations. By getting fewer medals Healers get less valor and gear up more slowly than damage dealers. It's why you see so few healers in WZ. I can run premades with my friends, win 6-10 straight games, get 3+ MVP votes every match and still end up hundreds of commendations and over 1000 valor short of them because they get 8-10 medals per match and I get 4-6.
  22. Having it take the same method as Ops wouldn't be too terrible, as long as the loot actually went where it was supposed to (got a Merc OH on my Sorc the other night). Still not a fan of dungeon finder, though. I prefer looking for people and sending tells and whatnot.
  23. I don't like the idea of using characters as companions because companions specifically need to be generic versions of the classes and PCs are not generic. You'd constantly be complaining about the affection gains/losses, the fact that you'd only have 1 bar of skills, etc. Now making specific companions that you can unlock on all characters with legacy levels, like a tank/healer/dps from level 1 on? That's maybe something worth thinking about.
  24. Power is definitely the king but getting a baseline level of crit is advisable because it will allow you to get those lovely Force Surge procs. After like 30% it falls off SUPER hard in usefulness, though. Between the diminishing returns (it is the hardest hit) and the diminishing value (crit %age is more relatively valuable at lower %ages of crit), there isn't much of a reason to go past 30%. On the higher level gear the willpower covers most of your crit needs, though, so I guess it's a moot point.
  25. It looks like a solid list, though. Honestly, at least giving us the kills for assisting people by healing/shielding them shouldn't be too much to ask. That would be 1-2 more medals every time. Then just 1-2 more healing medals and I would be content.
