  1. Ran across the most interesting of bugs in game. I made a jedi guardian alt recently, she's level 24 now. I've only ever made lightside choices with her, however despite this, she seems to have developed roughly half the amount of darkside points as light and is sitting at neutral alignment. I already submitted a ticket which did no good of course. The reply was simply that they were "looking into it" and that I wouldn't get any updates on the issue, how lovely. In any event, just curious if anyone else has had this issue or have I found something entirely unique to my account.
  2. If I had a 120 inch screen in the first place, the last thing I would care about is 3-D
  3. If you enjoy the game, more power to you. No real need for insults towards those who don't share your views.
  4. I find it interesting you come to this conclusion without knowing the criteria for what they consider a heavily populated server. Also it may be a strange concept, but not everyone hangs out on the fleet waiting to be counted.
  5. like 8, only cause I stopped playing on the server where my legacy was unlocked and went to play republic on a different server.
  6. Players had it in their heads what faction they were gonna play long before this game probably came out. bioware can't really do anything to change player outlook. Empire has more players cause it's all dark and evil I guess which speaks to a lot of people who play these games. It's kinda like rift with the guardians and the defiant, people played defiant cause the guardians were 'too religious" their words from the forums and general chat.
  7. An MMO is a product people pay for. Naturally if a product doesn't live up to your expectations, you're going to have a complaint. I'm sure if you ordered a new keyboard and a couple of the keys were missing, you'd file a complaint or send it back. Why not just keep it and be happy though? You don't need all of the keys for it to be effective. Likewise with this game, some people are unhappy with it, as consumers they can voice their complaints. If you yourself enjoy the game, that is wonderful. However the real question is why are you then on the forums worrying about what other people are saying if you're enjoying yourself? There can't possibly be anything else of value within the general forums.
  8. yeah, some sort of icon that flashes above your character's head would have been too much effort to put into the game, or some other visual indication that doesn't grate a person's nerves, or their team's.
  9. Do people just not see the problem with this here? How is it legendary if everyone can do it over time?
  10. I don't even like raiding myself (at least not in the current gen of mmos of late) and I agree with this. Such gear is completely unnecessary if you don't plan on doing anything other than solo content. Usually such gear is merely a stepping stone for future raid oriented content. there's more than enough solo attainable sets in game that are really decent. Especially if one is into pvp.
  11. I assume you've never played the kotor games, stealth fields were used often then. It also helps to not so much think about it as invisibility, more along the lines of your character tactfully maneuvering and taking someone by surprise.
  12. I support this. Could be worse. In the early days of swg, you had to take a shuttle to different planets. It only arrived every 5 or 10 minutes >.>
  13. The problem OP is that there is no good way to allow everyone to have a story within the set game mechanics. You can't account for every possible background and minute detail that a player will want. This is why i enjoy table tops still over mmos. With pen and paper, your story is your own, you come up with it, you explore it and play it out. It's still possible in an mmo setting, but you can't really rely on the system itself to do that. You can simply roleplay your own story. I play the character arcs for entertainment, but as far as my roleplay goes, that isn't my character. I gave him his own story and when I interact with people, I play out that story. Admittedly, swg being more of a sandbox game, encouraged this dynamic. It's doubtful though that games like that will surface again in the near future though given the raid raid raid, loot loot mentality these days. You have to sort of take it upon yourself as a player to fashion your own tale.
  14. You good sir have won the internet. I couldn't have given a better response. That is precisely why they don't give specifics. Things change around, priorities shift, new deadlines are given etc etc. Just look at this game pre-release, when they said it would be out last spring, things changed and all of a sudden people felt betrayed. You really can't win in this business. It's why it's best to give these non committed answers
  15. <in thick english accent> Here here, I must say spot on. It's a little chilly in here, think I'll throw a few hundred dollar bills on the fire there. That should make me better than the poor people too now right?
  16. Agreed, it wouldn't unbalance the game. They could have made the preorder crystal like a moddable weapon or piece of armor, open it up and stick another crystal in it to upgrade the stats and keep the preorder color.
  17. I thought the ingame store would be worth it, but yeah I bought the package and this is pretty much how I feel. If the speeder scaled/changed as you purchased new skill tiers, that would have been nice.
  18. If you say so, with that slow shiv attack that that barely finishes off a normal mob.
  19. Even a melee op/scoundrel at that level barely has all the tools they need to really dish out the pain in melee range. The spec kinda blows until you're in your 30s
  20. I'm surprised you pay attention to what companions say, I usually just tune them out. If the risk of repeatedly dying wasn't there, I'd dismiss most of them for good. It's not a knock on the companion system per se, more or less, I have no run into a companion yet I care about. Unlike in some of BWs previous titles where they had more personality, and you wanted to see where their story was going. This is all opinion though, I just find my companions unlikable (inquisitor, jedi knight is what i play primarily)
  21. That last part is mere opinion. I enjoy writing stories and reading, but that doesn't beat a well presented story in a game that is accompanied by nice graphics, the right music and a host of other factors. it's literally the difference between reading about it, and being in it.
  22. All I know is ever since someone came up with these pointless titles it's become more painful than listening to old chuck norris "facts". Why the distinction? everyone is a gamer, playing a game. Whether you play 5 minutes a day or 5 hours, you're just playing a game. Why did this hobby adopt a system of segregation again?
  23. This here. Most raiding guilds already have their designated tanks, so leveling one to endgame, it'll just be harder to get into regular runs. While I've done both tanking and healing characters, I really just can't get into the respective playstyles. Take the knight/warrior for instance. In this game, it takes far too long to feel like a tank. While leveling these two classes, through the 20s into the 30s, I just felt like a half hearted dps class. Barely had the tools to keep 2 gold mobs busy, along with having to explain to teams every time that they need to focus down the silver and weaker mobs. For healing, well, healing is a lot more tolerable I admit than tanking, a good healer is it's own reward. My only issue with that is the inability to really customize my UI so it's easier for me to see things like status effects that need to be purged. Then the whole target of target issue in case I also have to toss interrupts into the mix in between heals. I guess with dps, I can just focus on doing my own job well without the headaches most of the time and it feels more fun. I'm not totally opposed to the other options though.
  24. I don't recall at all in my post saying anything about world of warcraft, funny how that is the stick that people start throwing these days when trying to make a point that makes no sense. As I already stated, it's an easy fix, don't play something you obviously hate, it just makes you look like that much more of a tool for continuing to dwell on it when you don't even like it. Mmos are not targeted at specific groups of people. A developer will try to encompass as many people as possible, because it means subscription numbers. You can get away with this more easily in the single player department because it's a lot easier to cater to niche crowds, ie puzzle games, or fpses, etc etc. If mmos aren't fitting your bill, all I can suggest is to look elsewhere, their goal is to simply get as many people as possible rather than making any 1 particular group fully content.
  25. I've been gaming for 20 years, and I think people like you are just full of it. You're not "hardcore" at anything. Sitting on your butt and doing nothing but playing a game meant for entertainment is not hardcore, no matter how much you want it to be. If a game isn't entertaining for you, then don't play it, go play something else. launching words like 'casual" as if it's an insult just shows how ignorant a person is. At the end of the day, everyone is just playing to have fun, not all games will fit everyone's ideal, and as I said, the best way to fix that is to find another game. You like dark souls apparently, go play that some more.
