  1. Really. Who needs to those stinky heals in PVP anyway?! I'd just like to see the dude post without him contradicting himself at least once. If he's the best Marauder on his server, [insert snarky comment here].
  2. Just do Slicing while you wait for 1.2. By the time it comes out, you'll have a little extra cash, a few companions, and lots of Mission Books to use on whatever profession you ultimately choose. You can then level up whatever you pick in almost no time.
  3. You should look up the definition of the word "every."
  4. What is a BG setting? If you are referring to Battlegrounds (Warzones), neither Kick nor Pommel will work there.
  5. Why is it poor keybing? If it works for him, it's not poor. Perhaps he has a Razer Naga and one of the buttons on the Naga was mapped to Alt-7.
  6. As neat as this may seem, it's not worth it as a practice (maybe as a last-ditch effort). There's a nasty bug that will sometimes kick you to the character select screen when you do this. As people have said, the main thing you need to work on is positioning. It can be frustrating, however, because of the auto-turn-to-face-target. Even when you are positioned "correctly", they can move and still knock you where you were trying to avoid. You just have to be aware and ready to move. It takes a while before you really find your grove, but when you do, it's a great class to play. ... even if we don't get a knockback.
  7. I am aware that using the same spec for both PVE and PVP is not optimal, but I don't feel like paying for a respec every other day. I have both full BM and full Rakata gear, so it it hasn't been a huge issue. When the e-peen meters come out and I MUST be at the top of the list, perhaps I'll pay for a respec every other day, but for now, I am ok with the spec I have. As far as the rest of your comments, again, you're trying to say some things are facts when they are just opinions. I'd say about 50% of Annihilation Spec'd Marauders use 2/2 Close Quarters. It has its uses as an interrupt, but it's not a must-have. Neither is Ferocity. In fact, I'd say a vast majority of Marauders do NOT use Ferocity. Sure, the run speed & +def you get from Predation are both nifty, but I'd rather spend my 30 Fury on Berserk or Bloodthirst. If I have the ball, I will use Predation, but pretty much every other time I have 30 Fury, I am using Berserk. I typically start out a Huttball by hitting Frenzy about 40 seconds before the match starts. When I am running down the last ramp, I hit Bloodthirst, pop my trinkets, hit Cloak of Pain and lay waste to the middle. I don't carry the ball that often, thus TO ME, spending 2 points to increase my run speed is pretty pointless. I'm not saying you're wrong if you have the talent, I'm just saying a) it's not for everyone and b) it is certainly no more mandatory than Close Quarters. I do find it funny how you talk about all the stuff you NEED, yet when you post a PVP build, you have Seeping Wound and Stagger, and do not have Malice (and you have 1/2 in Subjugation, even though you said you wouldn't "dare" PVP without it...). Are you just not that concerned with doing damage, even though you are a damage-dealer? I could understand MAYBE dropping Malice if your argument was "well, Berserk provides 100% crit anyway" but it doesn't even sound like you use Berserk, since you prefer to "intimidate" them to death with your blazing speed.
  8. Took us a few attempts before downing HM Soa last night. On every attempt (including the kill), the 3rd Pylon to drop would not break his shield.
  9. Indeed. I wish I could find a way to justify taking Seeping Wound, but I can't.
  10. That pretty much contradicts you saying the spec you linked is the "only" spec, wouldn't you agree? Here is the spec I use for PVE and PVP: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#100bIbRrRzsGzZhMMZh.1 I recently switched out 2 points in Enraged Charge for 2 points in Defensive Roll. I find the AE damage decrease is worth a little more to me than the 1 extra rage from Force Charge. I notice the missing rage in PVP more than PVE. I also used to PVP without Subjugation (I had 2/2 Close Quarters and 2/2 Phantom instead) but I find the extra second on interrupt is pretty useful. I LOVED Phantom. Being able to stealth and run through fire without taking any damage in Huttball was nice. Even nicer was being able to negate the Force Push/Force Leap/Smash combo by Juggernauts. Hitting Camo right after the Leap and before the Smash = saving yourself 4-5k damage taken, and puts Smash on cooldown. But in the end, I realized that the bigger benefit, to me, was the shorter cooldown on my interrupt, since I kill healers/casters more than Juggernauts. As mentioned several times, there is no ONE spec that is 'required' for optimal PVE or optimal PVP. Anyone who tells you differently is flat out wrong. Perhaps that will change when there is a way to parse damage. There are some talents that are almost 100% required, but there are others that are very situational. For now, do what works best for you. Trial and error helps, as you figure out your play style. Not all Marauders play the same.
  11. Post-1.1.5 Battlemasters have it easy. When I became a BM, I had to walk uphill to get my BM commendations. Both ways...
  12. The should make it easier (Queue for a Warzone then immediately leave!) and change the name from "daily" to "hourly" quest so Vulup can be happy.
  13. You have to build affection with her. As you do so, you will unlock quests with/for her. I won't spoil it, but eventually you will be able to romance her. I was level 50 by the time I got max affection with her and did all of the romance (hubba hubba) stuff. And as mentioned, you just need to have the companion out that you want to gain affection with as you grab quests. When you do the dialogue, you'll see the +20, +40, -1, or whatever for that companion, but you don't actually gain the affection until you finish the quest and turn it in. So if you have Vette out and get a quest, and you net +20, +20 on your dialogue choices, once you go do the mission you can have Quinn with you for heals. When you return to turn in the quest, even if you still have Quinn out, your reward will be +500 credits, +3000 XP, and +40 affection for Vette (as an example).
  14. This is pretty much how mine is, with a few changes (shift click on the wheel is now my mount, clicking the wheel is Berserk, Shift 1 is now my Rakata medpac). Annihilation spec http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/3563/nagaw.jpg
  15. Sadly, there is no +Cunning pistol for either Vette or Quinn off of the PVE or PVP vendors, so you have to go with the Belsavis one(s) (or do some mod swapping from Rifles).
  16. I don't like an entire thread where people are discussing marrying my wife. Please stop, it isn't funny.
  17. I raided/PVP'd as Rage for a while, then switched to Annihilation. I can honestly say that even though you hear from some people that the 2 specs are pretty comparable, Rage can't hold a candle to Anni in either single-target PVP or in PVE. A good way to test the PVE difference, since there isn't a way to truly see your damage, is on the Council fight in EV. I went from being one of the last ones to finish killing my mob (as Rage) to the first one finished as Anni. Your PVP numbers MAY seem lower when you see the leaderboard, but that is mainly due to the AE nature of Rage. Hitting 4 people at once for 4-6k could inflate your numbers a bit over an entire match. Overall, I'd say that Rage was certainly fun, but I doubt I'd ever go back for any reason other than to make a YouTube video with a bunch of big crits. EDIT: I also want to say that I was very hesitant to switch specs at first. I cleared 10/10 hardmode and leveled from 10 - 50 and valor rank 1-59 all as Rage, so changing it after all that time wasn't easy (and it obviously wan't "necessary" for us to succeed in raids or for me to be a successful PVPer). But I made the decision to switch and am really happy that I did. Plus, aesthetically, there's quite a bit more going on with your character's animations as Annihilation. The character just looks 'cooler' doing some of the Anni moves in comparison to the boring Rage moves. Silly reasoning, but hey, it's a video game we're talking about.
  18. If you do the Belsavis bonus series, it leads you to the Daily quests. Once you complete one of those quests, you'll notice the quest icon over the quest-giver's head is now a blue color. That means the quest is repeatable (daily) but you cannot do it that day. If you return to the same guy tomorrow, the blue icon over his head will appear yellow like a normal quest. Here's an old post from my guild's boards that may help you, assuming you are Imperial like the vast majority (keep in mind there's also a space mission on your ship that rewards 2 daily commendations):
  19. As mentioned, you are wrong. People wouldn't continue to debate the point if others, such as yourself, wouldn't provide misinformation time and time again.
  20. Dying right as he threw you the ball at the 5:38 mark of the Huttball video was pretty priceless.
  21. I am not saying the turret problem is acceptable, I'm saying it isn't game-breaking and definitely isn't a reason to leave the game. It happened twice in 800 games for you. I've had people cap nodes where they could not be attacked (which was addressed in a patch) on more than one occasion. Should I have written a seven thousand word dissertation about how terrible the game was because of that bug, and how I was going to quit and join the circus? Or should I have just done what most rational people do and assumed (correctly) that the issue would be corrected? Sure it sucks when it happens to you, but there's a whole big world out there with much bigger problems than one team getting an unfair advantage over another in a 15 minute video game PVP contest, wouldn't you say? 1 month into the game's life, a bug with Alderaan's turrets was noticed and Bioware is now taking the steps to correct that bug. It's not the end of the world. If it's so terrible that it actually makes you want to cry, just leave Alderaan and re-queue when you happen to get it.
  22. I'm not joking. All the problem in Alderaan does is gives the Imperial team a 5 point advantage. How many games involve the west and east getting capped at the same time, the middle never getting capped, neither side switching hands at any point in the game, and the Empire winning 5-0? Exactly. And "things like this" have no impact on server imbalance at all. People aren't making Imperial characters because of anything mentioned in the first post of this thread. The imbalance existed from day 1 simply because more people wanted to play the Empire classes. People wanted to be Darth Maul or Boba Fett more than they wanted to be Luke Skywalker or Han Solo. More people wanted to shoot lightning than little rocks. More people wanted to be evil ba$tards than pure good guys. This isn't new information.
  23. Huttball is my favorite game, and I play one of those "woe is me" melee classes (Marauder) the original poster posted about. Newsflash: Bad players will be bad players regardless of the map and/or game type.
