  1. then why is there no cinematic sequences emphasizing climatic parts in your story? I would be more impressed with sections of my story that are supposed to be heroic if you gave me an actual cinematic, such as the ones you've showed off before SW:TOR came out instead of "blah blah, sith you stand no chance, jedi are absolute, blah blah" then you fight them. You both stand there and swing lightsabers. The fight is not dynamic or impressive in anyway and I'm amazed that anyone playing this game feels like they're involved in something big. Even WoW has cinematic areas for some of their quests. But why is it that MMORPGs ignore this aspect when, especially for star wars, it would improve your impressions and immersion to the story. I was watching this commercial on youtube for SW:TOR displaying the intro cinematic and below it said "visual representation of the actual gameplay" or something of that sort. I was like, you have to be kidding me. None of that amazing star wars fighting has anything to do with this game. You aren't flying your "millennium falcon" through sections of a ship while it's blowing up or being one jedi surrounded by 30 imperials. This game isn't heroic and there is so much that could have been done or should be done...
  2. The OP has no idea what he's talking about. Spacebar is optional, use it or don't but frankly, I don't care what you're doing while you're playing. I'm using my Spacebar because I don't feel like watching the garbage over and over only to get some lousy thought out quests that make me go kill 10 separatists. I would care more about the pathetic and predictable story in this game if it added some sort of excitement but since every cutscenes include people standing around talking and then fighting a 1 on 1 elite mob, that is not dramatic nor exciting in anyway. So, with that said, I'm going to spacebar through this garbage and be proud.
  3. This game is no MMO. You're paying monthly for some garbage to waste your day with with no absolute goal or accomplishments and all of this is based solely on yourself. This game is nothing but single-player and it is not worth the fee.
  4. Less? Dynamic events, dynamic "dungeons" and server vs server PvP? I know there's more but those alone is sufficient enough to blow this out of the water.
  5. Sadly, there is none. That is the only reason why I played WoW and am now playing this one. At least I could log into WoW, though. I can't even force myself to log in here anymore...
  6. My inquisitor just zapped everyone. If I remember correctly, I think even my Warrior killed everyone the chance he got too... It's only fun to be evil to that extent for so long but in the big scheme of things, it seems so immature.
  7. I agree but I don't agree WoW is any alternative form of entertainment to anything in life.
  8. I don't like the fact that is persistent actually. Sometimes I'm on early in the day and if I felt like going to Ilum for any reason, I wouldn't be able to until late in the day because of the limited players on the Republic side. I can't just go there alone or even with a small group because Empire is always there and always facerolling. If they had an event at a certain time, at least I feel like I would be fighting on fair grounds with an even number of people, otherwise you're stuck in my situation where you're always losing at every time of the day because of the lack of players interest.
  9. Flying mounts are fun in their own way and I can see them being useful, however they tend to ruin a game. Let's take a look at WoW for example. Before flying mounts, world pvp existed to a certain extent. You could also chase a person to the other end of the world but at least they wouldn't be getting away. With flying mounts, people can't be dismounted in the air and usually can out-fly you as you're standing down there like a dope trying to hit them with something. World PvP was bad before, but now it doesn't exist at all. The world design in star wars doesn't seem to be fitting enough for flying mounts unless you have a really low heightmap restriction. Imagine if you were flying so high you could actually see how pathetic the backdrop looked. They would have to redesign certain areas completely based off of that alone. Imagine if you could use a flying mount in Coruscant. The taxi points wouldn't even be useful or you would be restricted on how far you could actually go out. It would be annoying. Population. The instancing, sharding and large planets in this game already makes planets feel dead, even on high pop servers. If you have people flying on mounts 24/7, you can almost guarantee you will rarely ever see a person except for the occasional moments in the air. Look at Sholozar (sp?) Basin in WoW. During WOTLK people would only fly around the edges looking for mining nodes and you would NEVER see a person on the ground, EVER. If anything felt single-player, that game does. Questing. Questing would absolutely be ruined in this game, like it felt in WoW. No sense on fighting your way to your quest or exploring legitimately in anyway because you wouldn't have to. Fly to your quest giver, fly to the zone to do the quest, fly back to the quest giver. If anything, this completely destroys the immersion of quests (as if there was any immersion in this game's side quests ...)
  10. Hmm, in that case it sounds interesting. The problem is this idea is so elaborate the actual fact that it would be implemented in the game is extremely low. I mean, adding leagues is literally like adding something like Starcraft 2. If we could all dream of this happening, it would be amazing but I hope it at least gives Bioware some ideas for it. This game needs this. It doesn't even have to be that big as what we're stating, just anything related to it and I would be amazed.
  11. One thing about leagues, though. How many players would you expect to be in a certain league? Let's say you're on the bottom of the league and you're absolutely terrible. Everyone or most people have moved up the league, where does that leave you? How would you pair up with anyone in this case? I might be misunderstanding but I'm curious.
  12. Okay, one thing I would be a little skeptical about adding NPC's is if you currently look at Ilum, there's realistically not even that many players taking part in it and usually it's just whoever has the most forces, then camps them at the base. If you throw NPC's in there, it may have a huge impact on the attacking guild, making it too hard. Since this game, technically, is a casual game, you would have to monitor this zone accordingly without making it too unbearably hard for people. I get what you mean about the guild ship now. One thing about making a specific zone based off of guild vs guild is you're requiring people, even people who don't want to join guilds, to join a guild to participate in this. It is a good idea about upgrading your guild ship and what not but I think realistically to get everyone to participate fairly, the ship that you're using should be based off your own actions. The only way I could possibly seeing this work in action, is not to make it like Ilum but make it instanced. You would have to queue for something like this at certain points in the day otherwise people may not do it. Or there will be a downtime of Republic players and the Empire would obviously faceroll the zone. It needs to be fair gameplay, so I think an instanced queue would work great. I'm just trying to keep something like this simplified for everyone to enjoy, solo play, guild play and what not so it wouldn't be a fluke.
  13. I liked PvP before the 50 bracket. Now I hate everything about it.
  14. One thing I'm would be more concerned about is FPS, the playerbase activity and is it really worth Bioware's time to implement something that seems to be only based on PvP in a "PvE enforced" game, as some people claim. However, I still think this is a brilliant idea regardless. It would attract huge attention this game and the entertainment factor would be endless. I do like the fact that upgrades can be purchased for the actual capital ships, which I didn't think about. You could generate a resource over time, depending on how long you've controlled the area (and the people who haven't controlled it do as well, just a lot slower), which you can improve your defenses with.
  15. Anything will make my consular look more appealing.
  16. If you could post in the "Idea for Space Combat" instead, that'd be great. I'll start the discussion there. I'm trying to get this one deleted.
  17. Nope, but I was sitting around thinking about this and I know for a fact this is what this game needs. Also, I posted this in the suggestion forum instead so I would like for this to get deleted here. I totally forgot about the suggestion area. EDIT: and wow, that is really identical EDIT again: oh crap, now i caused all sorts of problems. bioware moved this one to the suggestion box.
  18. For everyone out there, myself and everyone in my guild that is already bored of this game, here is one idea that will redeem all of our boredom and impress everyone. Space Wars Elaborate idea - Main objective is to infiltrate the others capital ship. Once you dock there, you have certain objectives in which you have to destroy sections of the ship, which eventually leads you to the "core" where you can destroy it and claim victory for your faction. But before you can do that, you have to fly to your capital ship as if you were going to Ilum and find your ship for your specific character and board it. Once you are able to start flying, it gives you a free roam with certain restrictions on how far you can go out until it tells you you need to get back in bounds. You can't typically just fly right to their capital ship and do your work, you need to fight your way there. So your entire faction must capture or destroy significant areas before you can progress onto the capital ship, such as smaller destroyers and what not. After you claim or destroy these ships, that leaves you a route to attack the capital ship. You aren't required to destroy all the capitals ships turrets but it would help your cause as you're not getting blasted 24/7. One thing you have to do is take down it's shields. When the shields are down that leaves you an opportunity to board the ship and do your bidding on it. Destroy it, control the complete area. Some specifics - For the people that are in the situation where they're losing control or have lost their capital ship, they must reclaim the area. Instead of going into the PvP zone by flying to their capital ship, they automatically start on their ship to go to battle. That way you aren't too demoralized by getting your capital ship destroyed and you don't lose anything for it getting destroyed, the enemy just gets valor and commendations. So you go through the same process as they did by destroying your capital ship as you are going to do to their ship. Condensed idea - Actual idea 1. Start on capital ship 2. Control/destroy objectives (major/minor ships protecting the capital ship) 3. Optional: Destroy the capital ships turrets 4. Destroy the shield generator or wear out the shields of the capital ships by damage 5. Infiltrate the ship through the docking bay 6. Fight inside the ship by controlling points on your way to the bridge or core in attempt to destroy it. 7. Capital ship is destroyed. Attackers 1. Your ship is destroyed so you must reclaim the area 2. Control objectives and go through the same process as the enemy did to destroy your capital ship 3. Destroy their capital ship, gain valor/commendations and claim victory for your faction Defenders 1. Defend your objectives 2. Defend your capital ship Some more notes - Remember that the current space combat system already in place has these functions. You have the flight controls down, you have specific areas of the ship in which you can target and all you need to add is the multiplayer aspect and free flying. For people that don't have enough players and their faction is underpopulated where they can never defend or reclaim their ship, you would get a cap on the pvp zone in terms of players so one can typically never outnumber the other. You have to queue for this zone. Without the queue, you can expect too many people to be here so only a set number of players can participate or you can shard the area, separate the pvp zones from each other which will allow more players to join. Also, if it gets too bad and you just cannot control the area anymore, after a week of not controlling you get a 25% damage buff. This will share the victory between each factions. When you control the area, you gain valor/commendations. If you lose the area, you gain a significant less amount of valor/commendations then you would if you won but at least it keeps you participating. Your ship is based off of how much you've upgraded it. You can customize your ship in game already and that can apply to this PvP zone. This will make you survive against each other better, more missiles and what not. Also, missiles wouldn't be able to lock on player ships unless you get 8-10 seconds of lock on. There should be countermeasures against missiles in PvP too, so you aren't getting blown up 24/7. Final comments - This is a really poorly thought out idea by me but I thought I could share it. Space combat in this game is really lacking and with the Star Wars universe and lore, you could make a game that's completely innovated and unbelievable except your typical MMO norm. If Space Combat was built this way, it would blow most peoples minds, I would guarantee it. Of course Bioware could think of a more specific plot to all of this, more then I could so it would sound more appealing then what it is. The developers seem to forget that this is an MMO and with the current things in place in game already, it's hard to believe that. This will add a huge MMO aspect to this game. Anyone have anymore ideas or input that could be added to this? I really want Bioware to know about these things because I can guarantee you it would shock everyone that plays MMORPGs if something like this was in place.
  19. Yeah, i was thinking I should have put it there. Nobody reads anything around here if I don't have a mean title.
  20. I had a feeling that was going to happen.
  21. I really need one person to think about this
  22. Yeah, the last time I did this for RIFT, my PC was burning hot.
