  1. How the hell do you play this? I have no idea how to build a ship effectively. I'm playing scout right now but I have no idea how to build it. I'm getting like 1 shot by people, somehow. I don't even have time to boost my shields or anything before I'm just suddenly dead. If i even go anywhere near a turret, i'm toast. The rockets aren't seeking so unless my target is following a straight path, i never hit them. I have no freaking clue what I'm doing in this. People are pulling like 15 kills a match and if i'm lucky i get 2.
  2. I don't know if it's necessarily downloading the entire game again. If it is, it must be downloading at an absolute snail pace. According to my launcher, it says installing with a bugged connection switching repeatedly between 512kb and 4090mb. My internet speed is not affected by this "download" otherwise I'd have other applications stalling, but it is running at normal speed. Don't let anyone in this thread convince you that there isn't a massive problem here, because there is and it is quite damn annoying. I've been downloading since 3pm yesterday, it is currently 6am the next day...i'm at 89%.
  3. I'm not entirely sure where you're finding those speeders on the market. I bought the speeder piloting 3, like suggested, through the legacy window so I do have that. Also I bought a full account inventory unlock; just one. As for those speeder "unlocks" you're talking about, I have no idea where those are. I see 3 speeders on the market and they are really expensive. (Adaptive speeders you're talking about)
  4. No, it wasn't, lol. There is no gameplay footage of it either...it hardly exists yet.
  5. I was wondering if it was worth it to buy character unlocks (like class exp, warzone exp and so forth) with coins? I spent like $10 worth on one of my characters and unlocked all the class exp bonuses and some others but I'm debating whether or not this makes a big difference or not or if I should do it for more characters or not. Just give me on some insight on which are technically more useful. Thanks.
  6. Hello, just returned to this game for quite a long damn time. I have a question. Is there somewhere I can see pictures of like "tier" armor or end-game armor for each class? I tend to play classes based off how they look, so I'd like to see what I would look like later in the game. Currently, trooper. Thanks.
  7. Yeah, I don't know why Bioware or any company would do something so extreme. I mean, healers are the most wanted class for anything in the game but realistically, not many people really want to play them unless they provide some good results. This game, surprisingly, has the most healers I've ever seen in an MMO, but they're still lacking, especially if you need one while leveling. What I'm saying is, there is no need to nerf a healer so bad to the point that people just literally don't want to play them anymore. It doesn't help anyone and everyone is effected somewhere in the game because of people abandoning their healer. If anything, the attention needs to be heavily focused on healing/tank classes to make up for the huge amount of people who, obviously, like to play dps.
  8. You do know that before 1.2 and actually still, we've had to deal with your abilities too. This is the same for every class, you're just starting to recognizing marauders now because of all the attention they're getting and the buffs. However, the buffs marauder received are completely avoidable. Don't even go on about ravage either... MMORPGs are always about adapting to every situation and if you can't adapt against countering a marauder then that's your own fault. They are definitely not overpowered, un-killable or whatever sort of ridiculous term you want to give them. Just be grateful that at least something in the melee department is getting some recognition.
  9. Yeah man, it's what I don't like about MMO's. This happens all the time and I'm constantly rerolling. I joined a guild and there was like 5 marauders, not including me online at the moment when I joined. I'm like wow, how am I supposed to get into a raid group or even in PvP when rated warzones start? This is like when a warzone had like 10 sorcs in it, now it's 10 marauders. It's sickening.
  10. I am only level 33. I'm expecting it to get better at 50, hopefully but I'm slightly worried. I was annihilation since the creation of my marauder. Self heals, decent damage, awesome mobility, it's heaven. However, I heard that carnage hits significantly harder, which it does, but you lose a huge amount of survivability. Here's the thing, with annihilation, i've taken out 2 people at the same time with a healer in world pvp. I've been able to hold my own for a decent amount of time in a crowd of republic in warzones while potentially and usually downing the target I'm focusing on (especially healers, god it feels good to wreck them). I specced to carnage, just to try it out since I heard it was way better then annihilation. I went into a huttball match and was like DAMN I hit hard, but I die RIDICULOUSLY fast. It's insane how fast I die. However, I typically can usually do kill my target 1 v 1, but other then that, if there's another person there, I'm screwed. Really, there is no getting out of it. The problem here is, carnage doesn't seem very good at killing healers and tank specced classes (but it might be slightly better then anni against tanks since I've died to jedi shadow tanks many times before, but it was usually a really close battle). The damage is fantastic and ravage is ravaging, but is carnage really worth it? It's hard to sacrifice survivability, mobility and overall better utility in 1 v 1 and group situations just to get those high burst numbers.
  11. alright, cool, cool. he's most likely going to get it, seemed like a great deal. also, when building a custom pc, at least mine is upgradable and i put TONS of RAM in, if i wanted to. so, it's not bad when you already own a pc and you gradually replace pieces over time instead of going from absolute scratch, but it's cool.
  12. thanks for the pointers. yeah, this machine looks better then mine and i'm satisfied with how mine has turned out. unfortunately, best buy scammed me into getting my machine and i eventually had the replace the graphics card and power supply, but at least i got a decent card and power supplies come cheap. we've done tons of research and it's not that easy to find pre-built pc's around this price range, it really isn't. building pc's from scratch is easy to put together, but finding the right pieces, compatibilities and potential issues is always a chore. EDIT: yeah, also this computer isn't upgradable. i mean, he honestly just wants to play most games at least on fluent fps, not even at max detail. the one he has now is an absolute piece of junk and i was like yea, this is the pc for you if you want something under $1000.
  13. Can anyone tell me if this PC is worth it to play SW:TOR on max? Honestly, I'm doing this for a friend and SW:TOR, to me, is the most intensive game in terms of graphics, so I thought it would be a good example for buying a PC. I have a decent computer, but I have a Geforce GTX 460, and this computer has a GTX 560, so it's better and I can run this game fine, however I'm curious if there is any techies out there that might be able to help with purchasing an affordable gaming pc. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227383 Good, bad, yes, no?
  14. How are the classes right now not having similar weakness and strengths? If you adapted every class to have the same strengths as eachother, then ranged classes would be particularly more overpowered then they already are since melee would have to be on the same page as them. Ranged classes need abilities to control to survive and melee have gap closers and mobility to stay on the target. Also, gear is a factor.
  15. I didn't read all of that, because I'm a typical unintelligent forum lurker, but some things I got out of it were about things being 1 v 1. This game, by no means, is based around anything 1 v 1. That can literally go for nearly every MMORPG. You pick a class, you have a role. You can't expect to have abilities that counter every class. If this were the case, most abilities that were used to counter certain classes will also be unbalanced with PvE and other classes all at the same time. I don't see any MMORPG ever going to completely balance classes around every aspect of the game; it's impossible, unless they create a very complex system of ability management in which certain abilities are only used for certain situations, but that even seems unbelievable.
  16. They will never do anything with the "stunfest." It's annoying, especially if you're not a ranged class because of them, but you overcome your difficulties and you won't always win regardless of how hard you try or think you should. A ranged class with CC, like a sorcerer, deserves to have the CC since their really squishy; it only makes sense. However, the CC on troopers/bounty hunters frustrate me the most, but I haven't always lost to them either (as a marauder).

  18. Exactly, WoW has good cinematics. Like after you kill the Lich King, that was EPIC. This game has none of that and at least those fights ended up being dynamic in some way. I wasn't even a jedi master yet and I was fighting Darth's and KILLING them like I had no problem at all. The funny part is, they just stand there and swing their lightsaber with some occasional force lightning. There is no cinematic after killing him that shows that I'm supposed to be somehow better then him or implying that I'm doing something good for everyone. It's just boring and dull. Give me something to feast my eyes on and I'll be impressed with this game.
  19. Now that you mention it, these cinematics would even be more impressive in Flashpoints, especially Black Talon. I want to see something visually appealing and exciting and this game is lacking that entirely. That might explain why so many people are bored of this game so quickly.
