  1. Funnily enough I noticed Guss gained medium affection from courting gifts given by my male smuggler. Sadly I don't have a female Smuggler to test it out, but I'll bet Guss has a crush on either. Which is really adorable. As for Corso, I never really liked him that much, so I can't imagine romancing him on any future female smugglers (or on my male smuggler if Corso suddenly became bi).
  2. Funnily enough the dark side smuggler felt more like a Tyber Zann style character. Which was awesome. Now if only we could get our criminal empire acknowledged, that would be great. Or at least, if our character could be called "Voidhound" rather than the generic "Captain", since that's our fancy title.
  3. I can guarantee upon waking from carbonite, all of my characters will be going on a http://i.imgur.com/ENU0REx.jpg. Kidding aside, I'm expecting to see references to our deeds before the hijinx ensued, and hopefully at least one unique class mission a-la SOR. Well the SW & SI class missions on Rishi hint at something going on in the Rishi Maze. For the SW, Darth Vowrawn is trying to find something there by interrogating the Hand. Which means that the Emperor knows something about the Maze. In the SI mission, there's inhabitants of the maze trying to contact the Dark Lord. Meaning that most likely, the Eternal Empire is from the Rishi Maze. That, or they're from the Unknown Regions like the Chiss and could hide quite comfortably. Plus the Sith Empire managed to hide for 1300+ years while being relatively close to worlds that were known - namely Korriban, Malachor, and Ziost. I can actually see a third faction, unknown in the greater galaxy, carefully watching the affairs of the superpowers waiting for the right moment to strike. Plus the Rishi Maze has been unmapped for a looooong time. Meaning that it's conceivable that the civilizations of the Maze have gone mostly unnoticed by the larger galactic community, possibly interacting with the Rishii every now and again. One hypothesis that someone put out is that the shenanigans on Rishi involving Revan and the space battle got the Eternal Empire interested in galactic affairs. Regarding the stuff around the Emperor, it's really vague right now. I'm hoping that either his hijinx get resolved before the expansion (which seems unlikely at this point), or (more likely) he'll continue to have a presence in the expansion. As for the Empire and Republic falling, I doubt they've been annihilated (what with 2600 years left before something vaguely canon pops up), but more likely have lost a lot of ground in the mid and outer rim. They've most likely re-entrenched their forces around their core systems, trying to rebuild and prepare for the next wave. As for getting frozen in carbonite, likely it's as a trophy for the Eternal Empire as a symbol of their power. So maybe you got captured in battle, maybe you got frozen during ship travel, the possibilities are open. We just have to see if Bioware will execute it properly.
  4. Well if they took part at all in almost literally all the content from Illum-Yavin IV, your character participated in the resurgence of the war. It's a bit unclear if the war heats up around Act 2 or 3, but by the end (and arguably start) of Corellia, it's definitely getting into full swing again.
  5. I really doubt that since: 1) The Eternal Empire showed up pretty much out of the blue, and their attacks seem to have quickly driven the reigning superpowers to re-entrench with little time or resources for major offensives. Not much time to become a veteran if the conflict didn't last very long. 2) The term "Great Galactic War" has been specifically used to refer to the war that is between the Sith Empire and Galactic Republic of this time period that started with the Empire's return; and is almost certainly used for the renewed conflict that takes place in-game.
  6. They undoubtedly mean a veteran of the resurgence in conflict around Act 2 or 3 in-game. The renewed conflict could be seen as a part of the Great Galactic War, just a later stage of it after a 10 year period of uneasy peace and skirmishing. Kinda like how the three Punic wars are grouped together as part of a larger conflict despite lasting over 118 years with many periods of uneasy peace between the two factions. Besides, it's pretty clear that the Outlander is your character(s) at the time of Knights of the Fallen Empire. Whatever title they had before that (Wrath, Dark Lord, Voidhound, etc) will hopefully be referenced, but likely won't carry as much weight as it did before. Hence the more universal title.
  7. 1) That remains to be seen, but for raids and flashpoints in particular? I doubt it. 2) We'll see, but I'm hoping we aren't prevented from going back to planets. 3) Dread Masters: They died on Oricon back in 2.4, they aren't coming back. Revan: Hopefully he's permanently dead and they'll let the character be. Gree: I don't know about Gree Mutant Ninja Turtles, but it'd be cool to see the Gree play a role outside of their biannual event. 4) Apparently their father didn't spend much time outside of "you are the dirt and your losses are your birthright", so I'm gonna guess he never really cared. 5) Remains to be seen but I'm guessing they'll leave the daily areas intact (since they're really just there to give you rewards, not advance the story continuously).
  8. This thread is a nice idea, I approve. Anyway, I have two mains, one for each faction. Pub Main: Tarrquinn Class: Gunslinger Species: Human Gender: Male Primary Companion: Guss or Akaavi Pics: http://orig06.deviantart.net/3f19/f/2015/166/e/9/pisspisspisspisspiss_by_viennachan-d8xhf54.jpg http://orig13.deviantart.net/db25/f/2015/166/2/0/talk_to_the_hand_by_viennachan-d8xhf5e.jpg http://orig09.deviantart.net/f0fc/f/2015/166/b/2/yet_another_monster_to_kill_by_viennachan-d8xhf6d.jpg http://orig08.deviantart.net/70a0/f/2015/166/6/2/a_tragic_end_for_a_gallant_warrior_no_doubt_by_viennachan-d8xhf7m.jpg Why I love this toon: I get to be really creative and expressive with him; he's kind of my "fun character" who laughs at everything. It's a nice positive outlet. Imp Main: Vitarus Class: Sith Juggernaut Species: Sith Gender: Male Primary Companion: DS Jaesa, Malavai, or Vette. Pics: http://orig04.deviantart.net/ccb7/f/2015/166/3/d/in_that_moment_nathan_knew_he_effed_up_by_viennachan-d8xhh2q.jpg http://orig08.deviantart.net/3295/f/2015/166/f/a/youve_been_a_naughty_sith_by_viennachan-d8xhgw4.jpg http://orig09.deviantart.net/4313/f/2015/166/1/8/looks_into_the_camera_like_he_s_on_office_by_viennachan-d8xhgxz.jpg http://orig12.deviantart.net/143c/f/2015/166/c/8/you_what__by_viennachan-d8xhgzi.jpg Why I love this toon: It's the classic Darth Vader power fantasy. Lots of power, strategy, and destruction. What can I say? It's fun to play the villain.
  9. If this is what happens, I can guarantee my Sith will go on a rampage of colossal proportions
  10. I'm pretty sure they'll add the level 65 version as an option, just like the level 50, 55, & 60 hard mode versions of the flashpoints. If you go to the flashpoint quest giver there's (with two exceptions) an option for the story/tactical mode, or the hard mode. Meaning if Black Talon is scaled up to 65, when you go to the quest giver it'll probably look something like "story mode, hard mode [level 50], hard mode [level 65]".
  11. I honestly hope they can explain it better than, "Oh by the way your faction fell off-screen woopsie-doodle". We'll see in the coming months I suppose.
  12. From what I can gather the intended alignments by the writers are as follows (and to be perfectly frank these can be debated quite a bit): Jedi Knight - Lightside Jedi Consular - Lightside Smuggler - Neutral Trooper - Neutral Sith Warrior - Darkside Sith Inquisitor - Darkside Bounty Hunter - Neutral Agent - Neutral The stories vary in terms of working as the unintended alignment (Jedi Knight and Sith Inquisitor are the worst culprits here). In particular the Warrior works pretty well as Lightside, and the Smuggler works pretty well as any of the three. Most of the stories can work well as any of the three (except for Jedi Knight and Sith Inquisitor), so it's mostly up to however you want to play it.
  13. The lvl 50 purple crystals appear on the GTN quite frequently, on Begeren Colony as well. Just wait a day or two for the people who sell them to put them up. Otherwise there's purple outline and derelict purple which can be used from lvl 10 and up.
  14. Thanks for the information, I edited my post to reflect that.
  15. Considering how every flirt and romance from 2.0 on is bisexual (with Cytharat being the exception as SGR, not bisexual), if the new companions are romanceable it's almost a guarantee that they'll be bisexual romances. Honestly I feel that TOR's been pretty good about this since literally every flirt and romance (excepting Cytharat) has been bisexual since 2.0. I can't overstate how nice it is to see my male Gunslinger & Sorcerer going after Theron - especially since a good chunk of the Theron romance vids on youtube are from female characters. Representation is a good thing and I'm eager to see more of it with the expansion.
  16. An assassin droid means it's built for assassination. As HK-47 himself proved, you could be assassinating for the Sith or the Republic with equal measure. It's not something that's inherently "evil". Thane in Mass Effect 2 gives a great speech about how an assassin is merely a tool for killing, not the bearer of the guilt. The HK line droids were incredibly efficient killers, so for someone who engages enemies in combat on a daily basis, it makes sense that any of the 8 protagonists would be able to grab one. Even the Jedi classes. The Knight & Consular kill at least as many people as the other 6 classes, so it still makes sense that they'd pick up HK-51. It is a little weird that the Empire had hundreds of these droids on a ship to begin with, but the fate of the HK-51 droids was a little vague in KOTOR 2 anyway, so I'm with it.
  17. I threw together an 8 image album of the current outfits Tarrquinn has. Not my best shots, but they suffice. Descriptions with the item list for those who read them http://imgur.com/a/qnj6A#0
  18. I've stopped associating lightsaber colour with alignment since they introduced the dozens of colours on the CM (which is a good thing since it allows more colour variation). Regardless the two figures seem to have yellow or copper lightsabers, which is a nice break from the traditional blue, green, red. Pretty excited to see a possibly new CGI trailer in addition to the brief synopsis that we know, which really shows that EA has put a lot more faith and resources into TOR.
  19. My personal feeling (and admittedly I have no real proof to back it up, it's just my gut feeling) is that Marr has the Star Wars version of leprosy mixed with some excessive dark side corruption and is kept alive by a crapton of top-of-the-line cybernetics. With that idea it's surprising he's lived this long, but then again Stephen Hawking wasn't expected to live very long either. And I headcanon him as a Pureblood for no reason other than the cool factor.
  20. 1) It depends on the server, but Imperial is in general thought to be higher. 2) Basically yes, though I'm on Begeren Colony so I can't say for sure whether it is or not. 3) The PvP servers really seem to be the only ones experiencing a decline in population, but the rest are either the same or steadily growing. Don't listen to the naysayers who say that TOR's time has come.
  21. If Inky could open up Fade rifts during the fight, she'd probably win. But the Sorc's ability to heal is a big boon
  22. The old Battlemaster and War Hero sets do creep onto the GTN pretty often, with a requirement of 60 Valor for Battlemaster and 70 Valor for War Hero (unless it's rated War Hero which has no Valor requirement). As for which sets are already back, read my extensive post about which of the Level 50 PvP sets have returned http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=7907757#post7907757
  23. One of my favourites is as the Smuggler if you take the [Flirt] option with the Emperor: Smuggler: So... You. Me. Take over the galaxy together, have some laughs? Come on, what do you think? Emperor: *Disgusted glare* Smuggler: Not your type, huh? Then another is on Taris as a female Bounty Hunter when you run into Torian: Torian: Thought you'd be harder to get the drop on. Bounty Hunter: *Flirtatious tone* I was just eager to see you again after Dromund Kaas. Torian: You what? Bounty Hunter: *Flips Torian* Men... Then there's the famous: Kellian Jarro: You will drop your weapons and surrender to me. Bounty Hunter: You will realize what a complete idiot you are.
  24. I still have room for Yavin IV if I want it, since Coruscant and Tatooine are ugly, ugly planets. But if the Yavin IV stronghold costs millions of credits like Tatooine, I think I'll stick to Dromund Kaas and Nar Shaddaa.
