  1. Actually Shadows and Assassins can use single blades, it's just that quite a few of the abilities require a saberstaff, hence you want to have one at all times (or one of the double sided swords). Regarding the suggestion, it'd be great. I'd be able to play a Guardian if I could get them to not hold their lightsaber like it's a baseball bat. Honestly it makes me think I'm constantly in Strong Style from Jedi Academy (which tbh I didn't like there either).
  2. It's really up to you whether or not to do Ilum. I'd recommend running through it at least once per faction, but it does end in 2 flashpoints that will be soloable come October. So unless you can get a group for both, you'll need to wait to finish off the quest chain (both are basically soloable at 55 and 60 if that helps). Otherwise, hitting 55 and buying from the 55 mods vendor is, in my opinion, better than getting 162 gear since the mods are 172 and you can optimize your gear much quicker and cheaper.
  3. Dem cheeks [is promptly shot for such a terrible pun]. I remember Dorian being particularly guilty of this, and I think Bull was too. Or maybe that was his pillowy chest. Very fun, either way.
  4. Yeah this leads me to think that KOTFE won't start as 4.0. It doesn't make sense since all the other patch cycles went 1.0-1.9 and 2.0-2.10. It'd make 3.0 the odd one out since it'd go 3.0-3.3. My guess is that KOTFE starts as 3.4, and then each new chapter will 3.5, 3.6, 3.7, etc. That's why I've been very careful about not calling KOTFE 4.0, because I don't think it will be.
  5. The Wrath was never named a Darth, despite that you get it as a toggleable title. Originally during beta you would get "[Name], Emperor's Wrath" after completing Act 3, but it was changed to Darth after some people whined about it. So in lore, the Wrath isn't a Darth, but a special case. It's more along the lines of Dark Councillor=Wrath, rather than Dark Councillor<Wrath. I also got the impression that the Hand is on the same level as the Wrath (and thus the Council), so really it'd be Dark Councillor=Wrath=Hand<Emperor. And when Marr says he views you as the Empire's Wrath, he's pretty much reaffirming your position as a special case.
  6. Ok that makes sense. Still pretty funny imagining him as Archer, but this makes sense too.
  7. Considering his relationship (or lack there of) with his mother and his tendencies to sometimes cause disasters, I tend to think of Theron as the Star Wars version of Sterling Archer. Him running around (presumably) shooting people in his underwear brings him even closer to that. And now I'm imagining him in scenes from Archer with Lana Beniko and my characters. From when Archer and Lana Kane are on a weapon merchant's boat in their underwear during a firefight: Theron: Oh right. Because you walked into Stripper's Discount Warehouse and said, "Help me showcase my intellect." Lana: Discount?! Hello! This is Fiocchi! Theron: I think it's pronounced "Knockoff".
  8. Funnily enough upon rewatching the boot camp parts of Full Metal Jacket, I see more similarities between Harkun and Hartman. Both are absolutely devoted to their group, both are incredibly hard on their students, and both (can) die from one of their students.
  9. Great pics all round. I find the way she grabs his back in this one pretty funny. As if she's claiming him - "Soon he will be all mine! [evil laughter]"
  10. Here's my rankings of the voice actors in descending order Male Maury Sterling - Smuggler Mark Bazeley - Sith Warrior Bertie Carvel - Imperial Agent Brian Bloom - Trooper Eaun Morton - Sith Inquisitor David Hayter - Jedi Knight Tom Spackman - Bounty Hunter Nolan North - Jedi Consular Female Grey DeLisle/Griffin - Bounty Hunter Jo Wyatt - Imperial Agent Natasha Little - Sith Warrior Jennifer Hale - Trooper Kath Soucie - Smuggler Xanthe Elbrick - Sith Inquisitor Athena Karkanis - Jedi Consular Kari Wahlgren - Jedi Knight
  11. Let me be more clear: I do think Theron is partially to blame for worsening the chaos on Ziost, but he doesn't get all the blame. That goes to Saresh and Kovach, with Saresh taking the biggest portion. To use my analogy: Theron prodded the hornet's nest. Saresh took the hornet's nest, shook it up, tossed it around, threw it on the ground, and was shocked, shocked, that the hornets stung her. And I'm half hoping Saresh gets possessed by the Emperor, takes some super doom walker, and is a great boss fight.
  12. I'm gonna agree with Wicked on this. As much as I like Theron, he worsened the situation by sending the Sixth Line into Ziost (which I believe he says Impside). At least on Impside, you can hear in his voice that he regrets it. He feels bad for prodding the hornet's nest. I forget if he says similar things Pubside, but I assume he does.
  13. No problem! It would make more sense for Lana or Theron to rescue you based on faction, but my feeling is that Lana rescues us (regardless of faction) and then she leads us to Theron.
  14. I disagree on the thought that Lana wouldn't rescue you. Lana is nothing if not pragmatic. I think she'd be willing to rescue your character, regardless of faction or how she feels about you, with the stakes raised as high as they seem to be.
  15. My personal guess (with admittedly no real proof) is that we'll get to choose either Lana or Theron as a permanent(ish) companion regardless of faction. It's entirely possible we'll have what a lot of the ME2 companions said, "I'm not working for [insert faction], I'm working for you." That's a mindset that a lot of the vanilla companions have - think of Vette, Akaavi, Skadge, Kaliyo, and so forth. It'll definitely be interesting to see Theron or Lana on the opposite faction; showing Theron around Kaas City or Lana around the Senate Plaza will be pretty amusing.
  16. With my Slinger (Tarrquinn) I figured that they head back to his ship to... ahem "kick off the artificial grav" as is so wonderfully described in the Akaavi romance. And yeah it's pretty funny how she gives you a medal after you (almost certainly) slept with her son. She doesn't say anything about it, but I can bet she's probably thinking "ugh smugglers". I think a George Takei "oh myyy" belongs in there somewhere
  17. I feel like some of the LIs would beat the crap out of you if they found out that you cheated on them (namely Akaavi), which would obviously hurt. Then I feel there's some that would probably give you the silent treatment, and strangely enough I think that would hurt more. I haven't romanced Elara, but I can bet it'd hurt to have her stop talking to you. She's such a sweet person, I'd feel awful for her to always look disappointed.
  18. I'm gonna apologize for likely starting that whole... well, episode. I actually feel pretty bad for that, and I'm sorry. This would probably be a classic case of "open mouth insert foot" on my part. I usually try not to judge others for their opinions and I really let this one bug me. I'm actively trying to be more respectful again, and I'm going to put this behind me. Shall we discuss something else?
  19. 1. Kaleesh (I really wanna have Kaleesh Sith!) 2. Bothan 3. Nikto I'm not really sure what's so appealing about Nautolans, but whatever floats your boat.
  20. There's a few points I wanna address here. 1) Yes we get a bit overzealous about Theron, but I think that says how memorable and well-received Bioware's characters can be. If a character can get a pretty sizable positive or negative reaction, that means it's succeeded in being memorable. 2) No discussion? Did you miss the discussion a few pages ago about his fear of opening up only to be rejected? That'd count as a serious discussion of the character. 3) A fair opinion? What you said wasn't a fair opinion. A fair opinion would saying "here's what I don't like about Theron. Here's what I like about Theron. Personally I think the negatives outweigh the positives, but here's my thought out reasoning." What you said was: Care to tell me how that's a fair opinion? It is honest since you really think it's true, but how is it fair? Where's the positives? Where's the comparison? Where's your reasoning behind your conclusion? It's just negativity. You were honestly surprised that people responded negatively? Regardless, to reiterate what I said earlier: if there's a choice to throw Theron into the void of "permanent off-screen" I'm sure you'll take it while I avoid it.
  21. Oh goody the Theron haters are back. I honestly disagree completely; I think both were very interesting NPCs (even if Lana's face looked really odd). Lana was a Sith interested in the knowledge and wisdom, not the power as she straight out tells us. Theron has identity issues and a fear of opening up only to be rejected, which is a central part to his character (as I understand it). But if there's an option to expel Theron into the void of "permanently off-screen", I'm sure you'll take it while I avoid it.
  22. So I went with the assumption that Lana AND Theron will be companions, that they will be cross faction, that they use medium armour, and that Lana has two lightsabers (based on her concept art) and that Theron has two pistols (based on SOR). I decided to make outfits for each, based on either faction. List of items is included in spoiler tags to save space. I tried to get these outfits saved on the concerning characters so I'm prepped for their arrival. Most of these items were sitting in storage or collections, so I didn't have to spend much on them. This is of course assuming they don't do something similar to Yavin comp gear (which I actually hope they do). If they do, expect the bracers, belts, and weapons to change. Sorry for the small image size, the preview window is pretty tiny. I'd love to hear some feedback on these ideas, particularly for Theron's since this is his thread after all. The assumption of who will go with who basically goes like this: Lana (Imp) - Vitarus (my Jugg), Quirenus (my Sorc) Theron (Imp) - Quirenus (if I can have both. I'd love to have a good romance as well as an apprentice who I like that talks!) Lana (Pub) - Antigonos (my Sent who I play as stupid evil, so he needs someone who's relatable even if Lana is far from stupid evil) [Bonus shot] Theron (Pub) - Tarrquinn (my Slinger) [i call him Quinn for short, which can get creepy during the Malavai Quinn romance] I still haven't decided for my Sniper, and my Scoundrel and Sin are way too low level (20 and 19 respectively) to worry about it now. On with the outfits! Lana (Imp) as modeled by DS Jaesa: Back Front Sabers The intention was to keep her characteristic green colour while giving her something armoured. I usually don't use the rebreathers since they clip on Purebloods and it drives me absolutely batty. On a human though, it works pretty good. I wanted her to have her typical red-orange (rather than the more marketable red), but the only red-orange I have in collections is a War Hero crystal and the ones on the GTN are going for extortion prices. So I gave her these colours instead. Theron (Imp) as modeled by Andronikos: Back Front Pistols This was a bit of a struggle to do, as there weren't many good medium armour chest pieces on the GTN at the time. Instead I pulled this jacket out of collections and I think it works rather well with the rest of the outfit. The Sand People gloves are among the best looking in the whole game, and they work well here. Lana (Pub) as modeled by Kira: Back Front Sabers I really tried resisting using the numerous Sith adaptive armours I have, and tried something more Jedi-ish. I settled on this which looks kinda Jedi-y in terms of the chest piece and what not, while keeping the Sith elements in terms of the mask and overall colour scheme. And I tried something different with the lightsabers, going for white and sliver blue rather than the coloured core that Lana uses. Theron (Pub) as modeled by Tarrquinn: Back Front Pistols I went for a more Smuggler-y look on this one. This particular hat cancels out facial hair which is a pain on Tarrquinn with his goat patch, but should work fine on Theron as long as he hasn't changed his appearance too much. If he's got some facial hair, I'll swap it with a standard hat. Item List Edit: I was thinking of making a signature to show my support for Theron. How does, "The night is darkest before the Shan" sound?
  23. Akaavi's romance is pretty sweet, it gives an insight into Mandalorian romace customs without feeling all pervy for romancing Torian. And I had the confrontation between Akaavi and Risha since I apparently flirted with Risha a few times despite never really pushing a romance. It was pretty funny since my Slinger just looked at Risha and basically was thinking, "Risha how long have you been living in your fantasy world?". Akaavi's pretty tough and independent, but over the course of the romance she opens up and is pretty sweet person at heart. Well... sweet aside from willing kill for honour. But other than that, she's a really sweet person. But I'm gonna tear my hair out choosing between Akaavi and Theron. If I could get her to calm down and not tear my Slinger's throat out with her bare hands, I'll pick Theron. But if it ends with her leaving the party (please don't let this happen!), I guess I'd stick with Akaavi and see if I could have a "Friends with benefits" thing with Theron. So basically, I'd recommend Akaavi's romance and I'm hoping she doesn't rip my Slinger's throat out
  24. My bad, she still looks great! Her hair going down nicely offsets Theron's hair going up. And I'll count my Sorc and Slinger as part of the Hug Theron Brigade. Where's my screenshots?
  25. Sorc gear was indeed different (and honestly looked better), that's one set that is not back. Sniper gear was the one with hood down, Operative gear did have hood up regardless if DPS or Heals. And for that matter the Juggernaut set hasn't returned, but I figure it'll come back in a future pack. Field Medic/Enforceror (Operative) http://tor-fashion.com/tionese-field-medicenforcer-imp/ Field Tech (Sniper) http://tor-fashion.com/tionese-field-tech-imp/ War Leader/Vindicator (Juggernaut) http://tor-fashion.com/tionese-war-leadervindicator-imp/ So yes the Sniper one isn't back, but honestly I find it close enough to the Agile Recon that I personally don't mind. The Sorc & Jugg chestpieces will probably come back in future in a pack. It's a matter of patience. And if you want a hoodless chest piece that works good for Sorcs, I'd recommend the Tattered Ritualist or Tattered Mystic from the Assault on Tython/Korriban Incursion vendor for 4 recovered relics. Or you could also go for Dire Warmaster or any of it's look alikes with the Outfit Designer.
