Best part about DAOC? It was PVP/RVR just to do it and have fun with it, the realm ranks were no joke to get and the bonuses weren't ABSOLUTELY (Aka PVP Gear) huge that people of lower ranks couldn't stand a chance if they were good. I very much dislike the new trend of things, the only reason people PvP is because it gets them PvP gear, which in turn just makes them destroy people even faster... which again, in turn only makes them that much more powerful than everyone else, despite how terrible their skill level may be.

Tug of war relies on decently even populations, in this game it's not uncommon for empire to be 5:1 republic. When the Ilum stuff was happening how many times did you see anyone on empire say republic was camping them, instead of the other way around.

One of the main reasons DAOC RVR succeeded was because of the 3 factions. In a game with 2 factions you can't have DAOC pvp in any way or form, as one side will always be zerged/smashed into pieces and hold every fortress etc.

You should checkout the E-313 Heavy Repeating Disruptor. Can be bought from the specialty vendor on Tatooine. HUGE weapon, looks great on my trooper (Screenshot is a put together of mine from the best rifle thread) E-313 Heavy Repeating Disruptor

He's not on the fleet, have to go to the actual planet and buy it from the vendors there. I just finished Quesh myself and I guess since the planet is so utterly small and only designated for a single level, they didn't deem it worthy for the fleet.

DAOC handled it just fine most of the time and that was -years- ago when it was in it's prime.

I've been keeping a list in my original post, but it's a ways down so it's a bit out of place. Has all the screenshots from this thread in it though.

Did this on my PVP server. 3 Republic (myself included) all level 30ish and then a level 50 Juggernaut totally decked out in PVP gear. We were all pretty casual and none of us attacked each other, one of the republic people even fell down when trying to get the second datacron and the imp let her force leap back up to him while he was on the platform.

Commando for me as a Shield spec. Mostly because for some reason the majority of commendation vendors as I get to them always have 1 level higher of Commando than they do of Reflex and if I got the commendations to use, I'm going to get the most bang for my buck so to speak.
