  2. good read. I like your style. I would add something relative to the basic strategies (and differences therein) of each wz. Sort of a Do, and Do Not list? What do you think?
  3. I only vote for players that directly help me. Like a healer who saves my butt when I'm near death. Hard to not notice something like that, or when a name continues to come up in green letters, then I know that player is paying attention to me and that's a good feeling. They are the mvp, imo. Otherwise, I vote for a guild mate, who is usually helping me anyway. Numbers don't mean everything, I might see a player did a lot of healing, but if I never saw a single heal personally, why would they get my vote? Probably just helping their premade group and ignoring other players.
  4. As a middle of the road class playing in a wz, how do you gauge your own effectiveness? Is it: overall damage or healing? whether or not your team won the wz? how many kills, or better yet, solo kills you earned? how many players you aggro'd or interrupted? how well you played for your team how long you were able to survive score lots of medals Those are just a few possibilities. Interested to see what responses there might be. Personally I just play for fun, but feel effective when I live as long as possible while helping team mates, remember my taunts, and getting a few solo kills is very satisfying.
  5. I like the current system, and I also don't mind dying quickly. It's more realistic, imo. I find it exciting when "the heat is on", and I have to really stay on my toes.
  6. yes, got a 600-0 victory the other day with a random pug
  7. I've got purples on both vik and yuun. Bought on the gtn. Yuuns wasn't cheap, but I know they exist as craftables, somehow.
  8. Ok, first of all, why do so many people seem intent on wearing these as complete sets? In this update we'll finally be able to use any orange armor we want! Pop out the mods and drop 'em in your favorite orange gear. Mix and match for an interesting and unique look. I can't wait. I look at these sets for the pieces that they include, and there are some interesting pieces in there even though I'm not a big fan of the complete sets. I'm referring to the separate components; pants, helmets, boots, gloves, belts, etc. There will be no need to wear a full set of anything unless you happen to like the look.
  9. so, I target my friend and then attack him, but the attack actually goes to his target? that sounds like dumbing down to me.
  10. I only lost one today, so far. Won everything else. Almost too easily.
  11. Cool guys, thanks for posting some intelligent replies. I understand the need for a certain amount of gratfication, and tiers of character development. I enjoy that progression myself, which is why I play rpg's. I was just venting a little, and have been enjoying the game. Looking forward to 1.2 and beyond.
  12. I play for fun. Who ever gave a rats a** about valor? seriously....lol! You didn't see that coming? I've been pve questing for orange gear for weeks! I juts want to look cool when I'm having a blast pvping...lol!
  13. I thought the play was the reward... It's only .50 cents a day. I used to spend more than that in one day at the arcade, easily. Never once complained about it. Kids these days...they wan't it all.....now....... /shrug I see a lot of people asking, " what do I get out of this?" sort of questions.... Example: "I can win most wz matches that I'm in, don't I deserve something special?", or "hey, I pay for this game. where's my fat lootz that reflect my mad skills?" The game has been out only a short time..... (I think it's clear that 1.2 is a step towards improvements, cuz it's not like I don't agree that this game needs work). I guess it's a good example of the INSTANT GRATIFICATION thing that I read about. It doesn't seem to matter if it's pvp related or whatever, but the pvp community seems to have a large percentage of whiners. Do you people enjoy gaming just for the sake of it? Can you enjoy some heated battles without obsessing on real, or imagined slights?
  14. 1- yes, I use them all the time. It's a debuff, use it. It helps your team 2- not needed, but you might like it 3- must use, as it's one of your main abilities whether you like it or not. Learn how it works. get used to it. 4- there's lots of build to try. find one you like
  15. I hear the term baddie and I instantly imagine a pubescent teenager who takes games way too seriously. MUST WIN...ALWAYS
  16. yeah, happens like that to me about 30% of the time. I'll try the /stuck next time.
  17. I wonder about some games that are too easily won in huttball. I see super fast running and jumping by multiple players. It's either an exploit, or just really smart players working as a team in amazing sequence that will blow your mind. I'm very open to learning more about the classes and what are possible explanations. The only other thing I really wonder about is the crazy lag I get sometimes (not always). I speculate that this is some sort of effect caused by another player or players using some 3rd party thing. I read somewhere about exploits in swtor and remember something to that effect. If people are using such cheats for whatever reason, if this is possibly an explanation then I would like to know more about it. I would also be pissed and want bw to do something about it if they could.
  18. I often wonder if I'm a baddie because I die quickly sometimes to a person spamming one button, or if he's a baddie for spamming that one attack? I think I'll go with the latter. I don't agree with rewarding the lesser involved player. I'll look forward to trying out this "nerf".
  19. I can think of several that would be great time killers and possibly very addicting in themselves. - Card game: make it like pokemon (a very successful game) with collectable cards but with a SWTOR theme of course. Pure candy. - That 3d chess game from ep4. Again, with collectable characters with stats. Geared more for serious players. - Multi player gambling games with good payouts and high risks. Must involve skill. Multi-level tiers for beg to adv players. - Crafting games that involve puzzles and a chance to win special schematics. - Mini pvp and pve games where you play a certain kind of alien vs another kind of alien and it's very cartoony in a weird landscape. All equal armor, skills, and gear with no grind whatsoever. More candy that might also appeal to pvpers. - Race games with stats! I'd like to see a 2man vehicle with one pilot and one gunner. Of course, all of these mini games would require a record of statistics and ranking to be kept so you have a reason to keep playing. There must be good rewards that can be won and achieved over time. The games themselves should be simple yet addicting, while appealing to more than one type of gamer.
  20. I think it would be cool to have some wz's that are designed for a team of one class vs. another. Say, Troopers vs. Bounty Hunters, for instance. The idea is something like a specialized mission. Imagine a group of tough mercenaries holding a base and the troopers are called upon to infiltrate and retake the base. The mission would require some npc's that help keep the battle interesting. They should not be too tough in general, but a couple of elites at least would be cool to have included as objective kills or protected targets that can both earn your team bonuses. Class specific gear rewards would be awesome as a part of this. I would like to see obstacles and maps that challenge the classes skills, while rewarding smart and/or clever play. Thanks for reading.
  21. ^^ this. I never want to get the ball because it will never pass for me. I thnk the mechanism is retarded, for one thing. It should be: target friend, then one click to pass it. I'm getting stunned to death and people are yelling at me to pass. As if they're night, or life depends on it. I say, shut up, and get a life. It's a game. People play to have fun. Don't think you can try to tell me how to utilize my play time and not hear me give you an earful back. These ***** are usually scoring pretty low anyway. Which brings me to another point, and that is in agreement with another post in this thread, which is, you don't earn medals by doing nothing. Sometimes all I can do is kill people, but I do it with the objective in mind. Let me do that, and you strategists out there with 60fps can worry about passing a stupid ball. People need to consider other possible possible strategies. It sounds retarded for someone to say, to play huttball you just pass. Oh, is everyone else just standing around in position, waiting for my pass? No, they never are. That wz is one crazy deathmatch with a ball. Again, I'll do the defending and cc, you and your buddies play can play with balls. Maybe we can all win in the end. Yay!
  22. ever since the 50 bracket we win at least half or more in pug's on my server. Depends on the group, and some nights rule while others can be frustrating. I find that the biggest problem is people on our side ************ and complaining before it's over. there's always an ******e telling people they suck at the game, as if it that helps.
  23. I also noticed a difference since the last patch and it was not an improvement. In wz's especially, there are some problems with my abilities triggering, even after multiple key presses. That used to be they key for me, now I press even more and some still do not work properly. Another thing I noticed is that my sprint keeps turning off.
