  1. Hahahahahaahahhahahahaha. Sorry bro, not at you. Just the general idea that Bioware would do something the playerbase has been asking for makes me chuckle.
  2. Events cost money to make. EAware does not intend to spend too much money on this project anymore. As such, IF you want an event, feel free to buy an 18USD speeder with some christmas lights on it. Mr. Hickman said it's amazing. /thread
  3. To be honest, he is more of a SWG fanboi, but you sir are certainly a Biodrone.
  4. The show is FREE. Don't want the ads ? DONATE. Period.
  5. Charging non subs for a non working feature. How is that NOT a priority ? Terrible business practice, just like pretty much everything else that happened since launch.
  6. @UP: Nicely written, but that still does not change the fact that the game performs like utter crap. We have the hardware that we have, multicore processors were around when the development started, end the developers just failed to create anything that could resemble a decently performing game engine.
  7. At this point, Bioware has ZERO credibility. I do not believe any of their PR babble. Stopped reading Q&A's, stopped reading interviews. It's all worthless speech.
  8. I guess it depends on the package and the script. The modo one I use is pretty solid in that regard.
  9. But if I use my PC for multithreaded applications (like 3D modellers, renderers and Photoshop) that would actually be a DOWNGRADE for me. Or in the best case, NOT MUCH of an upgrade for a LOT of money.
  10. Allright, in that case, I apologize. HOWEVER, I still have to disagree. It's an MMO built on a VERY dated engine. The minimimum system requirements are a LIE. How is new hardware going to help ? How will adding MORE CORES to a game that CAN'T UTILIZE multicore processors in ANY efficient manner going to help ? If my CPU usage hovers around 40% there is A LOT of spare processing power just sitting there being unused. So if I buy a newer CPU (I have a Phenom II X6 @ 4GhZ) SWTOR still will NOT use all that processing power.
  11. This post just shows that you have no idea what you're talking about. It's an MMO. As such, it's CPU bound. GTX 980 will NOT help with performance.
  12. ROFL. Planetside 2 ? Really ? You bring this to the discussion after SOE's CEO officially said that he is very unhappy about the game's performance and pretty much every single review confirms the game's performance issues ? Some people... That's because SWTORs system requirements are a downright LIE.
  13. It is time for some famous James Ohlen quotes: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-01-10-bioware-most-people-arent-having-swtor-performance-issues And then they wonder why their reputation went down the drain.
  14. Is that supposed to be some kind of "proof" ? Where is your framerate counter ? Why are the shadows disabled ?
  15. So instead of getting 10 frames per second, we will get 15 frames per second. MASSIVE Also, it's being optimized by incompetent people. You know, the same guys that said 1.4 will bring "significant performance increase for gamers with SLI / Crossfire". We all know how it turned out. FOUR months later, I still can't use my second GPU. That's how good they are at "fixing" the engine.
  16. Never. For that they would need to hire competent engineers. The current "client optimization team" is clueless. 1.4 "shadow optimization" was a disaster that still has not been fixed to this day. They will cash in as much as they can (Cartel Shop, PAID patch aka "digital expansion"), and then game will go on life support, minimizing dev costs. EAware.
  17. Nice troll bro. Why haven't you fixed AMD Crossfire support then ? FOUR months is not enough time ? All they need to do is run a script. Such scripts are available in pretty much every single mainstream 3D modeller. If meshes have open vertices it's downright amateurish. This whole project is amateurish, considered how expensive this game was.
  18. Well... they can't really say anything because it's a loose-loose situation for them. 1. Bioware says that there will be NO SGRs in the game -> it's a PR disaster ("Bioware hates gay people!") 2. Bioware says that they will add SGRs -> massive whine on forums (because the majority of community simply do not care and think it's a waste of time) and some possible backlash from right-wing media ("Bioware makes our children gay!")
  19. What do devs think ? They would probably say it's "unfair criticism" to what is a "very succesful F2P model". Also, remember that they are "excited" about the future of the game and are "always listening to players and their feedback". Throw in some "soon" here and there, and there you have your completely useless PR spinned Bioware response.
  20. Permanent consequences in MMO ? Never gonna happen. You kill 10 rats, 10 rats respawn the next minute. Such is the way of the genre.
  21. It's a poorly optmized modification of Hero engine, which will never be able to handle anything on a MMO scale. You know, like 20 vs 20 fights (massive! lol).
  22. There are no RP servers in this game. There are no GM's. No events. No naming policy. No chat bubbles. No population. Nothing.
