  1. If you're tired of stupid names, go play on a RP server. Way less stupid names there.
  2. That statement is simply untrue. Maybe you should post a fraps of Caspian Border doing 60 fps to prove me wrong ?
  3. That's because smoke is a VERY GPU intensive effect. In every game.
  4. Looks like somebody stole your lewtz and you're just mad bro. :| tl;dr: Star Wars pixels are important!
  5. Welcome to MMOs. Everybody does this.
  6. Quite impressed with the survey. Hope it gets proper dev attention. GJ OP.
  7. I would not call those FPS drops "random". They happen when there are many player character models for your computer to render. So it's not really random (well, the number of players to render is) and this can't be and won't be easily fixed (every single MMO on the market has to deal with the exact same problem, and pretty much NONE have succeeded so far).
  8. 8/10. Would give 9/10 if the performance in Warzones was acceptable.
  9. Phenom X6, 16 GB Ram, 2 x 6870 in crossfire. Doubt it. Haven't tried WAR with this setup, but back then I used to have a pretty decent rig too.
  10. The problem with MMO designers is that they design games that their coders just can't code properly. Name one recent AAA MMO that does not have performance issues in PvP zones or towns. Rift ? Nope, 20 fps, no matter what settings we use. Age Of Conan ? Well that one is rather famous for it's shoddy engine. Warhammer Online ? Framerate issues were one of the reasons that killed the game.
  11. Since you guys claim that framerate issues are caused by player's "low end rigs", you surely do have some high-end PCs at your studio, that can run warzones at constant ~45+ FPS. But please fraps it as proof, since I'm kind of weak on believing things I can't verify.
  12. Like the topic says, stop flooding forums with placebo fixes and other strange theories about framerate problems. It's up to Bioware to fix their shoddy engine and AMD / Nvidia to work on driver support. That is all.
  13. To OP: Log off outside the cantina = PROBLEM SOLVED. o.O
  14. Too bad that you have no idea about programming, economics and IT in general. That might give you some insight as to why all of your ideas are just wishful thinking (read: unrealistic).
  15. Because the game engine just could not handle those textures even on very high end rigs, so no one would actually benefit from this. So instead of a massive thread about having no high-res textures you'd get countless massive threads going: "ZOMG! MY RIG (enter some specs here) CAN RUN BF3 AND CRYSIS 2 ON MAX BUT I LAG SO MUCH SWTOR AND CAN'T RUN HIGH!!!!111111 FAIL BW FAIL!!!!!1111111" Hope this answer is to your satisfaction.
  16. That's a MYTH. Now the truth is that a movie feels perfectly fluid to us because the framerate is CONSTANT. The difference between 25 and 80 fps is EASILY noticeable because in computer games framerate is always inconsistent (unless the game is fps capped which is the case for some console games).
  17. Yes. This is yet another useless topic not bringing anything new or interesting to the table.
  18. Yes. The first MMO I don't feel like grinding. o.O
  19. Then all you'd get is a wall of posts going: "zomg! my rig (enter some rig specs here) can run BF3 MAXED OUT, but I can't run SWTOR on HIGH cause it LAGS!!!!11111". o.O It is what is it, it has been explained by the devs. Move on.
