  1. The game isn't just master mode chapters, there's a lot more content than than. Some of us would like an optional way to reduce our companions efficiency to use for some content. The default difficulty level, the default XP rate are set by the devs, I wish we could, if we want, choose to set thoses how we want (not going beyond the normal level set by the devs of course). Some will say that it's possible already by doing this or that trick. No, it doesn't work, your "solutions" make me play with companions I don't want to play with, make me remove partially or totally their intended behaviour, ... This solution or my solution let people who are interested do something they want and change absolutely nothing in the game for others.
  2. They should fix this in all the containers it happens, guild, legacy, inventory... Jawa scraps, alliance crates, ... many legacy bound items don't automatically stack when transfering from inventory to legacy cargo. When 2 containers are opened and you right click on an item in one, it should always try to stack it in the other.
  3. The problem isn't the players, the problem is the game. It's worse than warzones because new players with stock ships, basic crew, no gameplay experience, no knowledge of maps can be in the same match against veterans with fully upgraded ships while in warzones, lvl 10 characters with half gear slots equipped, a few abililities, coming from starter planets can't fight against lvl70 characters, with best gear, all skills and lots of experience. The little tutorial that should explain some things doesn't explain enough and serves almost no purpose anyway because new players don't do it. That said, with the changes they made last year, it's really easier to be in a good starting situation. Do one warzone, get 25K requisition, get one ship really well equipped or unlock all the most usefull ships, crew and basic mandatory upgrades. The Introduction to Conquests also gives nice requisition points and doing dailies/weeklies help a lot too. I'm not sure a lot of people would start playing the game just because GSF would have joystick support so I don't think it justifies the dev cost. The thing too is you can do a lot more with a joystick with a PoV hat than keyboard + mouse so either they would have to restrict what can be done with it to keep things equal between joystick and keyboard + mouse or people without it would be at a disadvantage.
  4. I never liked the concept of exclusive rewards given for being online at a specific time. People have lives that sometimes force them out of the loop and so they can miss a specific deadline. Some people that use the Founder title have played the game less than some people that can't have that title. Being online for a reward is not a feat, it just requires to be online during a specific period. From a game design PoV, it never felt right to me to deny forever to a part of a playerbase access to some content, items, ...I understand some frustration is needed but imo it should always end after enough time have passed or after enought in-game activities have been done. If BW wants to reward subscribers, they should create a real veteran reward program, like a growing pool of items subscribers can choose from based on how long they have been sub, the longer players have been sub, the more rewards they can get. So having the CE, founder title, Niko, Shae, KotOR Swoopbike...I don't mind others being able to get them too.
  5. "That's life, that's life And I can't deny it, Many times I thought of quitting, babe, But my heart wouldn't buy it. If I didn't think it was worth one try I'd just roll myself up in a big ball and fly."
  6. Only a small portion of a playerbase is voting on polls on a forum, without being representative of the playerbase...
  7. I thought maybe some voice actors don't want to work again on SWTOR but on the case of Zenith, he's voiced by the same guy that does Theron so, problem is not here for him...
  8. Never understood why some people think class/spec balance is only done for PvP reasons; I guess that overperforming to the point it makes some content/mechanics pointless for some or that class/spec stacking that makes some other classes/specs unwanted in end-game content, thoses things are just a problem for PvP, sure, not at all in PvE...right ? If you don't see how it's a problem either for the low performer class/spec or previously builds (in the tree system) or from the PoV of the devs, try thinking again... As for the discipline system, yes it can be forgotten during leveling .... and it was one of its goals. None of the utility points are supposed to be complete game changers, they are utilities to add a little flavor based on what you do and how you play (and yes they failed to do that because some choices are way better than others based on the content you do, ie no utility point should be mandatory to do endgame PvE or PvP)
  9. There's a subforums for suggestions... 3. They made this change intentionally a few years ago, I doubt they will listen to you now. 4. Not sure what you mean, your first saber is moddable and can be your weapon forever, if you upgrade it.
  10. Having some experience, I understand what's expected by most people and as I disagree with thoses expectations, I don't pug PvE. I understand that the OP was expecting the "norm", ie a fast and smooth run with people knowing what to do. I could also see how some players new to the game/genre would be in that guild group, not knowing they should have get some informations before doing the op and not willing to step forward when asked about not having done it before, feeling somewhat insecure of themselves and not wanting to be seen as the weak link in front of other guild members they might not know that well. The thing I tried to make people understand in my posts here is relying on communication, unwritten rules and etiquette everyone should know about doesn't work, always created some bad situations like this one in this game or all the multiplayers games I played. The best way to avoid thoses situations is by designing properly your games. This situation is a consequence of bad design from BW. There's all kind of people playing games with completely different background and expectations. Hoping that somehow something will happen and all thoses different people in a group will be on the same page at the same time is stupid. Communication alone is not the answer; barrier language, miscommunication, omission, assumption, opinion, ... led to problems for as long as there were humans. Obvious examples of bad design here are: why people with experience and people completely new to the end-game PvE are led to the same content, shouldn't they be challenged by different content ? shouldn't they seek different rewards ? why can't players tell the game what kind of experience they want to participate in so they are put together with like minded people ? why the players aren't notified of the level of expertise of the other players in the group for the current content ? why achievements and how many times you completed a content aren't more used as requirements ?.... It's like matchmaking in PvP, never be done so unless you try to cheat the basic existing system you get completely random group composition and thus sometimes the outcome of a match is a direct consequence of a missing system. Anyway, my point was that with a better game design and better in-game tools, the players experience would be better.
  11. There's posts after posts because we aren't focusing on the same thing. For you, the important part is that, after they wiped, when asked by the OP who haven't done the op before, there was no answer. For me, the important parts is the OP assumed things when she joined the group, didn't asked anything and states that which leads me to believe that lies or not, she would have quit. I don't even understand your part about lying by omission on purpose, what purpose ? not saying they don't know the tactics doesn't help them in completing the op so, what purpose ? except not be seen as the weak link, I'm not sure what purpose there is. And finally, for me, the most important thing is not about the miscommunication, the lies or whatever, it's how to improve the game to have problems occuring less often or not anymore. As stated in a previous post, by better designing the different tiers of contents, by rewarding players differently and by having a better group finder tool, problems linked to miscommunication, assumption... would be reduced a lot.
  12. The same way the guild members could have said something about not knowing the tactics, the OP could have asked something to be sure the group she joined was compatible with her goals. Considering it was a story operation, there was a good chance someone was new. Why inexperienced players doing a story op (easy tier) would think someone joining them would be against spending the time necessary to complete it with inexperienced players ? Then beyond the communication problem, there's the problem that the game let it happen, that somehow for an experienced player doing entry level content is useful (which leads experienced players to think it's normal to have the easy entry level content be done efficiently ie no discussion, no explaining and fast when it's made for inexperienced players to learn)...
  13. Could you guys add another assault cannon that sounds like the Justice or the Socorro Aurek/Besh/Cresh/Dorn ? The Socorro ones really look ugly imo. The Justice is a world drop so very rare and/or not cheap. AFAIK it's the only ones with this sound. Thanks.
  14. I'm one of thoses who could have done end-game PvE in this game but in the end didn't. I played some MMOs (SWG, LotRO, AoC, GW 1&2, ...) and did raids in some but not all, always for the same reasons. There are 2 problems imo: the players and how devs designed the different tiers of end-game contents. About players, the problem is there are different kind of players with different expectations. There's a group of people that want to do the content just for the sake of doing it. They don't care that much about rewards or time. They expect others to have knowledge about their class but that's all, the content should be learnable while doing it without relying on external knowledge. Their goal is to spend some time as a group and work together to manage to beat the content. There's another group with a progression oriented mind. Each content they do is a step forward their goal. They value a lot knowledge about encounters and boss tactics. As they want to progress, they want to be efficient, not wasting time on things they expect people to already know about it. And then come in the devs, with how they designed the different kinds of end-game contents. The contents, the rewards, the systems that enable players to do each content should be properly designed to NOT put theses different groups of people together. Different tiers of content with different levels of difficulty, different amount of in game cues to understand what 's going on in an encounter, different scripts based on how players fail/success a step and how it punishes/rewards them in an encounter. Different rewards or amount of rewards to properly interest each group. Each group should seek different rewards and have no use for the rewards of the other groups. Finally, systems that clearly let players explain what they are after so players of different groups aren't mixed randomly. Also requirements, to not have new people making mistakes and ending in the wrong kind of group. Humans have troubles with communications since the start and this is just another example. The guild group could have said more but the OP could also have checked if the group was on same level as her. More communication is better but with the proper systems, theses situations would not happen. Why let people with different goals and game experience be together in a group without notifying them ?
  15. Lol, in 2018 people still complain about delay and argue about the way BW handles SWTOR ? For a moment, I thought it was a 2012 necro'ed thread...
  16. You should PM me your login informations, I can clean your account for you.
  17. You mean the same way people are forced to do PvE, even if they don't want to, to get some specific rewards ?
  18. As a PvE player you also get rewarded for doing small stuff. As a PvP player in owPvP you are not rewarded. And still not asking for a reward just because you are in a owPvP zone. Sorry I'm not the crazy one here, I do have fun thank you. If I didn't I would do something else. The problem, again, is the design of owPvP or better the total lack of design. The planets are big, the questing areas don't overlap much, the population on planets is low, there's no objective, there's another activity (warzones) that offers somewhat the same kind of content, the same fun but better designed and gives you rewards on top of that.
  19. As for fun as a reward, just lol. Remove rewards from an operation and see how often people are willing to do it. If you don't know, there are also people that don't do endgame PvE at all despite the rewards they could get there. PvP happen all the time in Warzones, not in open world. Why ? because the combat system in SWTOR is based around gear. Doing PvP on Alderaan doesn't help people get gear when Warzones do. As for drawing everyone to PvP, not sure why the game should, I'm perfectly fine with people not wanting to do PvP. There are different kind of activities to do and people choose what they want.
  20. Probably not as much as me to answer in your thread considering how open you are for a discussion...
  21. I understand that, I know some people don't want to do any PvP at all. I also know that despite all the bribes and incentives, a fair number of players aren't interested at all in PvE endgame which they found utterly boring. Anyway we could argue forever but it's pointless. Other games have shown clearly there is a playerbase for many kinds of content, including PvP. Problems come from bad designs and implementations.
  22. I like this argument about numbers, like it really means something. PvP servers existed only because of open world PvP. As PvP is based on gear and rewards were gained only in warzones, there was no real reason to play open world PvP so no real reason to be on PvP servers. The only thing the state of PvP servers/instances shows is that PvE is somewhat properly designed and implemented while PvP is not. As for the OP, it won't happen in SWTOR because EA would need to invest a lot more than what they are willing.
  23. Always love when people tell others that what they like about an IP is not important or that it should never be the focus... Rogue One is a good example of Star Wars stuff not focusing on Lightsaber/the Force. The stupid thing about closing Visceral is that EA needed 3.5 years to finally understand that they wanted a different kind of game than the one they had decided to develop at Visceral.
  24. Every thing should fit the lore, that's why between Halloween and Life Day/Christmas, I prefer Life Day because they tried to link it with the settings. Btw it's not necessarily holidays, there could celebrations of battles, of peace/end of war, big changes, birth of important people. Like there could be once a year, a celebration of the end of the mandalorian wars on republic side or a celebration of the day the Sith came to Dromund Kaas for the Imps.
  25. Never was a fan of Life day either. As it's now Legends, I wouldn't mind if it doesn't come back into SWTOR. That said, LucasArts/Disney, if they were smart, should have created some lore fitting stuffs to celebrate.
