and technically you are buying a 30 day pass to access the servers when they are available. So extended downtime does not require any type of compensation. Even if there is a 3 day downtime from a bad patch, they are not required to provide compensation since the ToS covers this in the subscription text. Companies will usually compensate when there is an unexpectedly long downtime but they are not required to. (WOOT dangling participle)

Spend money on crew skills and abilities until you reach L20. Then stop crew skills and only learn abilities that are critical. I typically have less than 1000 credits when I hit L20 and more than 40K when I reach L25. They start up your crew skills and abilities.

It is not a realism thing but a game mechanic. They decide how fast they want characters to level on average and place time sinks to spread out the xp. If the allowed travel too much faster then they may have to lower xp for mobs and missions to counter the faster travel.

It will end on December 23, 2012 as will everything else. but seriously, cheating END? Not on this planet. The developers may be able to stop one way of cheating but there will be others and there will always be people doing it.

Try all of them, I got six so far all in range from 29-36. I will have all 8 not too far down the road. It is easy to take them all to L10 to get a feel for the story line and keep those you like.

Your stats (except presence) has no affect on your companions abilities. You can freely max your strength from your gear with no consequences. It is the gear you give your companion that you want to have high AIM. It is their gear that affects their ability.

What Legacy level do you need to play Emporer Palpatine? I did not know they let you play specific characters from 3000 years in the future. I would want to play that empire dude that throws that little lever during the Death Star firing. I love that scene. When playing the RPG Star Wars, tried to talk the guy running it to let me learn that skill.

When LotRO came out before any content patches, you could get to max level in a couple weeks. Comparing a game that has had dozens of expansions to a game that has had none is not a fair comparison.

Plenty of MMO developers learned to not give dates out too far ahead. Even if they miss that date by a single day, hundreds of LIES and LIAR messages appear on the forums. I have seen a patch come in a day early then the published date and the forums were still full of "Proof that XXXX are liars" messages filled the front page of the general forums. Same goes for patch notes. They are hesitent to post these too soon and usually only after the patch has got the 'go' call and servers are comming up.

It is fairly simple explanation. Since something might go wrong and the patch might need to be backed out, they do not post the notes until they make the go/no-go decision. This is to prevent the plethora of THEY LIED posts if they have to remove the patch notes.

Listen does not mean 1) Post something in every thread indicating they read the post 2) Drop everything and immediately fix something. They know about the population issues. Now fixing it is the problem. Since the population issues and empire vs republic issues are driven by the people creating characters, there is not good and easy solution. Odds are they are working on server transfers but that takes time. Once that is in place there will probably be paid transfers and under critical circumstances, free transfers. But as far as free transfers, most games I have been in try to lure people from high to low population servers so it takes time (if it works at all). And I seem to recall seeing a post from the forum admin/developers but since my Search Fu is not good, I cannot point to a specific response.

In general it is counter-production to give a more specific time or patch notes. Past history notes that even a day slip with cause outrage with the forum population or the patch notes being off by a single entry. Game developers have been very careful not publish this information until the last minute to minimize the "YOU LIED" flood that will occur if they are off by the most miniscule amount.

Dont worry about it, you can have next to zero credits when you hit 20th and still earn enough to get the 40k. All my characters craft like crazy until they hit L20 and rarely need more than a few thousand from other alts.

They also tend to be more challenging in that the Boss mobs do more things. You may find yourself having to coordinate actions with other players more, find yourself moving more than normal, intentionally lowering your DPS during certain phases, any number of different mechanics. In many cases, it is not how much DPS you can do but can you move out of the stuff on the ground, etc.

Ruthless has nothing to do with it. The demand is high which dictates people are willing to pay 12,000 credits. If you sell if for 9,000 credits and get your money why do you care. You made your profit and made it so another person could share in the profit. Two people get credits for the price of one

On the other hand, with more information, we could help identify possible classes that you may like and thus be easier to play. Do you like melee vs range Are you interested in DPS/Heals/Tank Do you want to be empire/republic Do you like DoTs or prefer burst damage etc.
