  1. The Fatman is a PvP server. I can only imagine the "community" that resides there.
  2. This thread needs to die. Seriously. There will be transfers. There will not be mergers. Some servers may lose their entire population to transfers and be closed, but they will not be physically merged with another server.
  3. At some point, I'm certain servers are going to be closed and disappear. But it won't be because they were merged with another. People will transfer off (Bioware will let them for free), then close the server once the population dwindles. This is not a merge. There will be no mergers.
  4. Tera is what, a year old or so? Newflash, Tera was running in Korea (I think) for a long time before it's US launch. Now, if they had a LFG tool when it started in Korea, you might have a point. Do you know if it did?
  5. They could have made SWG2. Unfortunately, they wanted to make money and sandbox games don't do that. Sorry, that just how it goes. I'd chalk most of the people's problems up to unrealistic expectations (I'm sure I'll be lambasted for saying this, but whatever). Just read some of the posts and what some players expect to see what I mean.
  6. It's super awesome that you found a thread to take potshots at the game in. I'm happy for you.
  7. They are not going to merge servers. EVER. Transfers are coming. You can wait, or you can quit. Either way, no mergers. EVER.
  8. No, they don't need to act on the rants of uninformed people who have no clue what a server merge would actually entail or the whining that would ensue because of the problems that would most definitely arise because of it. Mergers are messy, complicated, and more trouble in both implementation and Internet backlash than they are worth. They are last ditch efforts to save dying games. This game is on the ropes, but it is far from dying.
  9. Some would, I'm sure. All of them? Not likely. Don't make the mistake of thinking that you speak for some great majority of players when, clearly, you do not.
  10. This isn't a PvP game. Try playing the other 75% of the game and maybe you wouldn't be so bitter. Or leave and hit up GW2. According to it's fanbois, the PvP over there is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Why play a game going in knowing it is primarily a PvE game with PvP added as a bonus and then get mad when it isn't all about the PvP? This I will never get.
  11. Did you even read the part they added when they closed your thread?
  12. I like most of your points, until you start talking about mergers. They are not coming. They are messy affairs that are more trouble, in both implementation and Internet backlash, than they are worth. They are the last ditch attempt of dying games to stay alive. We aren't dying yet. Far from it.
  13. Since the release of the Cataclysm expansion, they've lost that many subs. Not since LFD was introduced (which happened several months before the expansion). What was that about facts?
  14. I would think it would go more like this. Offer free transfers from severely low pop servers. Once a majority are gone, let the stragglers know their server is going to be closed, give those people free transfers, then close the server down. (All speculation on my part, but it seems the best route to go) Mergers are messy business and more trouble, both in implementation and Internet backlash, than they are worth.
  15. Ah. Now we get to the heart of the matter. Yes, by all means lets return to the days when the top guilds owned a server and were able to dictate what portions of the game those "lowly casuals" got to play. This is good for everyone. Oh, and the only people who cared about your "blacklists" were you, your friends, and maybe your guild. No one else cared.
  16. Exaggeration and subjective. WoW is doing fine after LFG; it was doing fine before LFG. This game will do equally fine once it is implemented.
  17. I missed the post where they said "We promise to include Rated Warzones in 1.2". Because they didn't promise anything. They told you what that wanted to put in, it wasn't ready, so they held off. No promise made, no promise broken.
  18. Mergers are not coming. They are messy, complicated, cause more problems than they are worth, and are bad publicity outside the game (more than a few angry forum posters are able to generate).
  19. Wrong. Single server, regardless of transfers, will not be enough. Once xserver warzones are in place, xserver LFG will follow suit. Just be patient (those of us looking for an xserver LFG), it's coming.
  20. If you knew anything about mergers, you wouldn't be asking for them. Of course, you don't care, you feel entitled for Bioware to fix this for you. Mergers would not make you happy, because they are messy affairs that cause nothing but problems and bad publicity. More bad publicity than a few angry forum posters would ever generate. And mergers are the death knell for a dying game. Transfers are just part of the MMO business model, ala WoW.
  21. If transfers can coax some people off of The Fatman to other servers, then they may allow paid transfers there after a time. Not sure as I would expect you to be able to even pay to go there at the very start. At least you understand that you may need to pay for this. When Bioware releases transfers and the Fatman is not allowed for free, these forums are going to explode in wrath by those who, naively, believed it would be allowed. Since they haven't really said, all this is speculation on my part, but I'd wager that the Fatman will not be eligible for free transfers to it, but most definitely people will be able to transfer off if they wish.
  22. The two of you above seem to be under the impression that the developers have all the time in the world to peruse the forums all day. They are working. On developing stuff. When it is close, they will tell you. They don't need to post here every day. Demanding it is never a good way to get what you want. Usually works against it, in fact.
  23. I think it is safe to assume from your posts in this thread that you take no issue with throwing out whatever numbers you feel justify your point. They all come from the same place (I'll let everyone here decide where that is, even though we all know). Your rants just make you look foolish and uninformed. This won't stop you, however, from commenting on what I've just said. I'll be waiting.
  24. I don't remember that stuff in KOTOR I or II. Oh, you think this was supposed to be a sequel to SWG? Now I see why what you said makes absolutely no sense. This isn't and never was supposed to be SWG2.
