  1. I call my interrupt my "tracer spam noob spanker"! Fun to watch them sit there pacified for a while. Its really the most fun you can have with interrupt, I save it almost exclusively for tracer (and heal) spammers!
  2. Rail shot is the best thing about trooper/bh. It is single target, damage only, on a cooldown timer, and requires special status on the enemy to use it, so it better be good or else its not worth talenting for.
  3. Premades killed warhammer warzones, so theres no question that they have an effect. Bioware tried to mitigate this by only half allowing premades. I have yet to see a premade I couldnt de-rail enough for my team to tear them up, but if they start getting too tight to the point that victory is inevitable then there should be an option to queue up solo only games. I say "IF", I havent seen it yet.
  4. I like the tab targetting through all, it lets be get everyone dotted up proper! There is an keybind that will let you get the closest enemy. If that fails there is good ole mouse click too. The problem with making a system too "smart" is it will just mystify people as to why they cant target person "C".
  5. Its an rpg based game, use of the best skill rotation for a given circumstance trumps jumping around like a crack monkey. Positioning and making sure you have the right target and use your cc properly is more important than running through people. Good teamwork trumps solo skirmishes, with teamwork you can easily have someones flank. If not you can give a team member their flank. Dueling 1-1 is way way down the list of what makes a good swtor player.
  6. Thanks for clearing that up! Didnt worry about defense ratings/armor/etc so much with my merc, best defense was staying the heck back! I'm missing very little from my merc actually, cheesey heals and knockbacks dont hold up to instants and harpoon looks like the funnest thing ever.
  7. When did the topic become extinct? I'm definately a 'keet but still working up. Just got the assault end done so far, so I'm mostly running with the assault cell up so far. I'm wondering how much the added armor in ion cell helps, dont sorcs mostly ignore that with force attacks? Asking since there are so many sorcs, last wz I swear every IMP icon on the scoreboard was purple lighting.
  8. If you leave just because you are going to lose you deserve a penalty. Firstly the fact that losing is certain is just your opinion. Some of my best games have been where my team seems the underdog at first and pulls together with good communication and teamwork and makes a stunning victory. These games are by far the best and most memorable matches. So you dont really know how its going to go, all you know is your own attitude. If you pull out you are hampering your team greatly, and should lose your "right" to join a team. No, its not just about you, it affects everyone on your team. Imagine any sport where a team is involved, and someone decides not to play because losing is a good chance. They would not be welcome to further games. You really shouldn't be allowed to play any more at all period but a debuff so at least your loser *** doesnt show up in a game for a bit is probably a bit more realistic.
  9. NO! Resolve should be diminishing returns with immediate, more moderate efffect. ie first cc full effect, second cc half duration, etc, etc. After a minute or two (or respawn) it resets. Separate cc types on seperate timers (root/mezz/stun). Dark Age of Camelot had great system.
  10. I dont believe this either, this is the other extreme. I dont want to have to schedule my play time, I want to get on and play. If pre-made becomes a requirement to have a chance then the game is on its way out. Fortunately I do just fine at this point, but am staying away from level 50. If a guildie wants to group and do WZ thats fine but there needs to be pvp for casual players. In fact I see far more individuals than pre-mades, so I'm pretty sure this is the prefered option. Warhammer learned you cant put pick ups with premades, will swtor? Or will they be too late too.
  11. OP, You are leaving for all the wrong reasons and should be punished. Your assessments are purely subjective and boil down to, if I think I'm going to lose I'll leave. Your opponent could easily be in the same condition next round and I'm sure you'll be upset if they left on you. You are whats wrong with the game.
  12. Cool, and I can refer guildies to you that want me to switch spec "because its easy" to heal or what not? You seem to have considered all the repercussions of this. Thats great, thanks. Level 50's in the game doing just fine, doing all content, there's no need for this. Dual-spec is another "crying baby wants the rattle" issue. The adults dont like the rattle, because it annoys us. Sorry if that makes us seem mean and self centered. Who wins? Crybabys usually, typical MMO. I'm pretty sure this started with WoW. If its the reset you're concerned about, that seems like it might be broken and needs fixing.
  13. Speculation is it is for pvp, so people dont get those occasional massive hits that have people screaming nerf class such and such. I feel pyros damage is more evened out and less burst dependant so we wont notice it as much as classes with a big alpha strike type attack.
  14. Its just extremely cheesy.... not that I'd quit with it in but it really is catering to the worst of MMO "must have everything or I'll cry" attitude.
  15. Cool, was running a similar spec on my mercenary, at least the "pyro" side (and going up their heal tree). This works so much better as a Vanguard though. Ion cell seems downright overpowered! DOT, snare AND damage reduction, Guard, +60% armor?! YES PLEASE!

  17. Why are people leaving? If its because of pre-mades dominating, make it so people can play without playing against pre-mades. If teams are that lopsided you really cant expect people to bother playing. If its because of losing, hand them a loss and lock them out of their daily for an hour.
  18. CC/resolve is kind of unintuitive. Its been suggested time and again, but diminished returns for all CC works great, so that every successive cc attempt becomes less and less duration, but still does something. After a minute of no cc your resistance to cc resets. Worked great in daoc. In fact just about any mechanics difficulty they are having could be fixed by referring to daoc for a working model.
  19. LOL, by now you should have figured out what spec you wanna play! I've had to change a grand total of twice so far and doing just fine. And only did that many times because I knew the system allowed it, if not I'd still be fine if not optimal for a couple levels!

  21. I'd like to fly and shoot fireballs out my *** but I dont see that happening either... I'd believe it more than switching between dual specs every time I wiggled my nose too.
  22. If you let someone get to you in WZ chat they've accomplished the mission... distracted you. This is the oldest play in the FPS book. Dont worry about people taunting you, its just a tactic.
  23. Most people just dont deal with it properly. I see a guy tracer missle spamming and everyone just ignoring him and it makes me wonder what kind of people I am playing with and if they really understand the game. My favorite target is a tracer spammer whos targetting someone else, he's a free lunch. He wont run, his heat is high so he cant deal with you, and he's probably not thinking very dynamically so hes not ready for your interference. And mercs aside from heavy armor have very few other mitigating factors, sorcs are tougher to take down. And your team mate will thank you. On the other hand if someone is tracer spamming me... get out of range or around a corner, usually easy since they like to stay at the edge of range themselves. Why do some people feel they should charge the merc when they've got a stream of missiles coming there way and they are < half health already?? Its a fight you'll lose. Understanding the game will make this problem go away np.
  24. Lol at people that need to win to play... I think they've lost the point of the fact that its a game and if theres no challenge, its just menial work. Probably the same people that complain about having to do anything twice etc. If you're so goal oriented then youre going to miss the journey, which is kind of the point of a game like this... edit: That said I enjoy being on a bad team, it lets me shine even more. I know we're not going to win but really if it gets to the point where I cant enjoy it in spite of losing I'll be quitting. Wont be soon tho!
  25. Badly labelled post, thought this was a whine about pvp in general... Other than that I have no insight as to why people leave early, but it is annoying to join and get stuck in the game they've left...
