And, there is such a thing as a talent calculator. Plan your build in advance, the trees are pretty straightforward. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#100.1

Pretty sure mod stations don't lower the cost of removing mods.

Orange gear scales with the mods you put into it. Correct any new orange gear you get can have the mods etc taken out of them and inserted into a previous piece of gear that potentially looks better. This can be done anywhere, Mod stations are leftovers from beta and early game development. Stats are determined by the mods armors etc.. There might be a base armor stat I've seen some empty orange gear with an armor rating of 16 or something along those lines. Search has been disabled in the forums for the time being. Keep your nice looking orange gear for later on. Right now you can't take mods out of purple items. That feature is comming in the next patches, This means EPIC raid gear can be repurposed as orange mod gear for aesthetics.

Let's talk about the Galactic Trade Network

Agree with everything the OP mention, the GTN needs to be overhauld, its a little sad to be honest. Still love the game though, problems and all. -
The Legacy Alt: Play yourself as a companion!
Angellus replied to swdrgn's topic in General Discussion
But what would you do about Class Story associated with an alt? If i were a Marauder and i was leveling a Sorc Healing Alt or BH Tank Alt, then wouldn't i loose out on my alts story arcs when leveling them alongside my main only doing my mains quests. I could see them possibly implementing a the story elements as "playable companion mission" rather than the cutscenes that setup mission that they go on off screen. However it wouldn't be the same. -
Hope you guys are looking at the Dev Tracker as well as previous posts in this thread, SR said there would be a "Fix" in the form of high rez character textures and some surrounding characters comming with the 1.2 patch. What that exactly is however is yet to be seen. But its a step in the right direction. Also 1.2 is slated for a Q1 Release which is also good news.

yeah it does suck

You know why, because RIFT downsamples textures for players and NPC that are a pre defined distance from you character. Zoom in on your character and he looks great zoom out and he's a noticeably lower resolution YET IT WORKs because at that distance you CAN"T see those textures. Think the same concept as tessalation where high quality texture models pop in the closer you get. (or something to that effect)

Lets just point out the Developer Walkthrough for Eternity vault and the Sith Marauder wearing the black hooded robe. seen after the 3 minute mark.

"Scheduled Maintenance: January 10th, 2012", really?
Angellus replied to Draksen's topic in General Discussion
pfft 2012, you obviously live in the past. Catch up noob. lol. But really update the info on the main page people. OP, wuhh? -
It does take time for them to investigate the accounts that are being "reported" as botters, could you imagine the backlash they'd get if they just insta banned accounts because of a few reports of "botting" I could get my entire guild to report a person and it would "appear" that they were a bot because of report counts. The reality is every account needs to be treated fairly and if that requires time to ensure then so be it. Better than the alternative.

Pre-assigned operation looting is frustrating.
Angellus replied to Parthis's topic in General Discussion
Ugh, i can see this being a big problem going forward, hopefully this thread or another one that may already be active is picking up steam and getting some attention. I saw this happen last night in EV, where a sorc got a belt that he was already wearing over all other Inquisitors. -
I'm down for Cross Server PVP, there really isn't a whole lot of downside, This is different from the ****Storm that is cross server LFG, that could result in a plethora of Need over greed loot issues. But thats a whole other topic.

Bioware has given you a "Sea" of skills to choose from, you should be able to pick and choose the ones that suit your class best and give you the most damage or healing for your click. I have 2 rows of skills that i will use (situationally) for my Marauder. There are 2-3 skills along my sidebars that I can click when needed. Set up a ROTATION (most likely a guide can be found in your class forum) and use those skills likely listed there. Macro's are the only other thing that will make life easier but that requires some knowledge on your part about your skills so that you can create a macro. Unless you just want to take what someone else is doing and use that. also update your signature,
