  1. In the Star Wars universe: Luke--"Ten thousand! I can buy a ship for that!" GTN: a beat up old junker one-seater vehicle, costs, $1.5 million. [Obi Wan: "My SWPad (iPAD) costs 2 million."] Prices in MMOs have always been insanely high. No matter how you spin it, there is no excuse. What is it? 1.5 million for a mailbox? Heck, in our universe we get free email. [shiver]. Our ship has a holoterminal, but no mailbox? Yet, our cargo hold follows us around--ship, planets, space station.... It's the little things that make a person say, "Wait. Vader can move objects around, but can't catch Luke when he jumps?" The Sith Warrior ios based on Vader, yet, unlike Vader the SW cannot: toss objects around or deflect blaster bolts. Little things. Except when buying items...then it's really bad inflation. Imagine if your extra energy drink costs $100 instead of $5. And what's with 100 credits to buy a token for the jukebox? Now that's crazy.
  2. Agree, whole-heartedly. [is there a peppermint one or a golden--not yellow--gold color. Silver is nice....]
  3. How can a WoW clone even attempt to come close to being good, let alone the best? It has good parts, but I have played better games. Yes, I prefer open-ended, never ending sandbox games over anything that caters mostly to pathetic tier-geared so-called PvP which is nothing more than a multiplayer function of a console style limited story game with Epeen factors. I'd prefer a reason to completing "dungeons" that isn't centered around some stupid gear drop. But for now, I play for the stories; maybe someday, when the game and players mature, there will be better reasons to play.
  4. No, 640 k was considered good--no harddrives, just DOS and big ole floppys: two or more drives and constntly switching.... Of course I learned on tube omputers we had to program by pushing buttons for 1's and 0's in 32 bit words. Monochrome green and yellow screens. But the games were fun. (No, no...they...weren't).
  5. A new river of tears has just been born. No NERFS are ever needed.
  6. And yet another useless thread about a circular argument that will continue until a reallly remarkable 3D "kill all" game does come out to break away from the so-called holy trinity of carebearing game play to keep people happy and playing for years upon years.... It's always the same story: Current game gets bad mouthed as new "yet to come" games are hearlded as saviors from PVP boredom--let's face it most of the QQing comes from the so-called hardcore PVPer looking for more epeen and gear--until yet-to-be-game arrives and is then, in its turn, bad mouthed...and the cycle renews. If you do not like a game then quit. QED Nobody give a dang about "your" reasons this or that or whatever is this or that or harumph.
  7. How many people do you think play? 10,075 ish. (But when I played, it was 10pm-6am; a few 24 hour stints, but mostly late night so not a lot of people around.) What's your favorite feature so far? Class stories. Whats your best memory of your in-game experience? Huttball...4 people quit, we were 3 points behind, then we ended up winning. Felt the same as those Alderan victories where people quit but we wind up winning by 5 points. No, no...the day my Inqusitor finally beat old what's his name and got to be Darth ***. Not that you really get that title...pity. I got mad on Ilum and for some reason after a server meltdown on a Friday just haven't gone back.
  8. Character should say what is on the wheel. Might cut down on the repetitious sayings that come out when different wheel options are selected.
  9. Hands...table, push...rise, door walk, knob turn, go outside. I mean really, eeewwww. (as the young'uns say). [Oh okay, Kira, no Mission--I mean Vette--no, no Mako....]
  10. The article makes some good points both positive and negative, but the worst forums of all MMOs, no. Game forums are pretty much the same--calls for nerfs, bickering, PVP issues, and so on.
  11. No. 1. Elitist attitudes 2. Negative forums 3. Too much QQing
  12. PVE vs PVP QQing is getting old. Gearing is old. SI: Mine beat Thanaton so what's the problem? Whining about balance: never will satisfy anyone; this is getting really old. Not enough HPs, getting old. Don't give healers MVP is really annoying. Give MVP to whomever you believe deserves it. Trade killing is silly. Forums, just like in every other game, are really getting depressing. Long, semi-long PVP waiting is getting old. I hear a lot of talk about guild benefits in every game, yet guilds are still reporting losing lots of players. Epeening, lack of epeen, this is better than that so you better get this over that (changes with players--one person swears on one this and another on that this), game is like that game, no it's not it's better/worse, prices: too high/too low/what do you mean now it's being given away after (I/we) worked/kill traded so hard for so long, use this rotation, no no use that rotation, no no no click it, no don't click it, faceroll:no use tactics, no use skill, no use better gear, no use a buff then go afk and wait until a sure win is, find a better guild, no no make your own guild, wait someone's hacking, no it isn't hacking it's an ability, L2P, QQ and qq so more, go to another server, no merge servers, no less pvp, no more pvp and less rp, [pass the aspirin], wait for next patch, no next patch is nerfing [insert whatever], I'll wait, I'm gone, I'm back from [insert whatever], people give up and play in their underwear, people stand around saying, "I'm bored", hardcore is pvpv, no hardcore is pve, no hardcore is rp, no no it's who has the most money, no it's who has the best itmes, no it's about this toon over that toon, wow it just goes on and on.... It's all getting old. This is what MMOs have become. Cure: Just find something you like doing and do it; if you don't like [whatever] leave; bickering about it won't help. Suggestion threads are where suggestions for improvements need to be, not qqiing in general or other places. Generally, it's the community that will determine staying decisions, not game play so much. Games will always have bugs, report them and hope they get addressed [is that chest bug on Ilum fixed yet?]. A new game is like the first year of marriage, things come up but get worked out, or you split up. Best case: don't let someone else determine how you play or encrouch upon your enjoyment. Reality: Have a cookie and play. [/clubdance]
  13. Nope...could care less, other than the stats, but it's not really that important. No point trying to keep up with the Joneses.
  14. Follow the ball and stay literally on top of anyone with the ball instead of going for other kills.
  15. Hit him with some stickies--beeepbeepbeep3, 2, 1, pow...mortars, nades, rapid fire.... He'll go down.
  16. Better yet, when will posts like this stop being placed on EVERY MMORPG game that comes out? If you dislike it, and other games so much, go elsewhere--I'm sure your console gaming system has plenty of titles to choose from, and goody for you and your buddies those games allow cheats. [Time to delete these negative comments and allow the game to move forward]
  17. You greet your better half when he/she comes home from work with: "Greetings, I have fluffed all the pillows and made a change to the diet plan. Some of us were getting a bit thick." [Oh, you know the drill]
  18. There's only one real fix--everybody fight naked, except for your weapon. Until everyone's individual complaint is "fixed", then everyone will be happy.
  19. Had that happen in a WZ; however, with the quitters gone, we went on to recoup the lost points and turn defeat into victory. The system needs to differentiate between intentional quitters, and crashes, lost connections, and "game booting".
  20. David vs. Goliath Something needs to change, and that is certain. However, there is a cap of equality in any system that is devised to provide advantages--then connection speed and player ability, and a little luck, determine the outcome.
  21. Fashion police. Wear want you want, but let others wear what they want. I honestly believe we need more of the bare and less of the long cumbersome cover-it-all-up clothing.
  22. Been playing since beta, no problems.
  23. You actually have to ask? Isn't the answer obvious? Now, show some real credentials--not just, "I play a lot of games"--and then maybe people will listen to what the so-called critics are saying. (If the TV critics do not have advanced degrees in programming, graphic arts, and other game design related professions, they too are just commenting in a vacuum.) If you do not like the game, then take it up with the company instead of posting on the forums.
  24. Long and slow does mean harder. [umm, the time delay--slow movng balloon]. Speed up the ride cycle rather than waste time on that slow ship to West tatooine. Besides, the difficulty lies in the jump, not the length of the ride.
