  3. Sorc/sage dps in pvp and pve are in really bad shape. So both parties are equally mad af. We have to fight for our specs to be buffed now or we'll never see a good day again.
  4. Whoa madness wasn't OP they were in a good place madness was actually really easy to fight against if you knew what to interrupt. Actual impact damage was just not there, yeah we would top charts but that's because of dot spread take that away and what would we have? All fluff damage if you kept dot spread soon tho healers would struggle (if they were an average healer) the whole point of a dot spec is to apply pressure to the whole group. (barely did that to be honest). Right now in 5.0 madness dmg is still in 4.0 while a majority of classes are in 5.0 damage rolls. So just imagine having to do 2k dmg a tic till you went through 120k HP player that's if they didn't heal or have a healer. Lets use marauder for example now they deal some big single target numbers 20k+ on like 2 or 3 of their abilities, time to kill on a madness in 5.0 compared to a marauder 5.0 (who has to be in melee range) the marauder would win with a big difference in time to kill. Now you might say yeah madness is not burst okay than explain to me why madness self healing capabilities and dcd's are completely gutted? I'm not saying madness should be able to take on an army but when you take a dot specs ability to do meaningful damage it becomes weak especially when you nerf the **** out of its 2 dcds. Some things I'd personally like to see change with madness as dot spread is hard to balance I'd like to see madness return to its single target roots. Lightning barrage- Force lightning channels and ticks 33% faster but deals 25% less damage) This is in its current state. I'd like to see the 25% turned to 20% or even 15%. Wrath-Dealing damage with force lighting produces a stack of wrath. at 4 stacks, wrath causes you next lightning strike, crushing darkness, or demolish to activate instantly, consuming 50% less force, and deal 25% more damage) Current state of wrath talent. I'd like to see the damage buff go to 30%. Force leech- Steals life from an enemy, dealing x-x internal damage to the target and healing you for 50% of the damage delt.) With parasitism that turns to 100% health from dmg. I'd like to see a 5%-10% buff to this ability to give it more punching power and to help with healing aspect of the spec. These are just proposals of possible changes I'd like to see to buff single target damage. I may transfer this into a different thread to get some suggestions for the Devs to read ( if they read it >.>). If you disagree or think it's to much or to little be respectful and propose something else with your reasons. Disclaimer- I don't play lightning so someone who is a lightning player will have more to give on that front.
  5. Thank you and that's is one of the reasons dps sorcs got nerfed because all they cared about was end of match dmg overall.

  7. Kind of is considering if you focus them they'll just live long enough to kill you. I will say yes my team was a bunch of noobs but the fact that I'd rather fight the many number of 4.0 sorcs than 5.0 mercs any day because sorcs were beatable.
  8. I should of added more context, I posted that link to show the amount of mercs in a single warzone. In 4.0 you'd rarely see this many sorcs in one game at best you'd see 4 maybe 5 sorcs but 9 mercs are a common sight, this is out of hand. Honest to god I'd rather fight in 4.0 again against sorcs than these 4 life mercs running amok. Before someones says sorcs were more OP I'd argue that healer sorcs yes they're the OP but the dps sorcs weren't they would top damage boards but that's all fluff damage single target damage was just not there. Lightning was almost unseen in pvp madness was the only damage spec sorc for pvp as it was more useful. Sorcs had 2 lives and for good reason one being that they didn't have any defensive cooldowns besides Force Barrier after that they were fair game. Mercs on the other hand have 4 lives and may I remind you they're doing damage while they're living this long. I played madness sorc for 4 years and rarely went healer and I can easily say madness sorc was not overpowered, easy to play hard to master.
  9. I'm still running 4.0 jugg pvp gear and doing about 3-4kdps on most games. On my sorc its slightly higher due to it being my main for 4 years. Gear is not the issue here. It's mainly due to lack of teamwork and the possibility you just suck as bad as they do. Most hardcore pvpers join the Empire because it's more dark and bloody and well frankly bad *** so it attracts those who just want to beat the living crap out of people and spend credits on stupid **** to look cooler. Unless you got actual evidence besides "**** pubs are getting rofl stomped" like class unbalances *Cough* merc/mandos I'd ask you to go and find something meaningful to complain about besides omg I got rekt there some hack or something giving Imps the edge!

I would argue that you are wrong, yeah pvp and pve isn't inherent to it but when a game is labeled a MMO (massive multiplayer online) and a large majority of the community wants less story more group content than yes pvp and pve is a must if we truly wanted to play a game with great stories we can grab that else where. My argument is the lack of trying to rebalance the game in its pvp and pve communities. Right now if your class sucks in comparison of another class well guess what good luck next year maybe they'll buff you in the next expansion maybe? What you need to realize is if the pvp feature isn't one of the primary features like its being treated right now than a lot of player will quit. Right now story and cartel packs seems to be the focus both of which we would rather get rid of to get group content the whole reason we spend $15 a month is to play this game with others not alone spending more than $15+ to get cartel packs that get you reskinned mounts and armors and some useless emotes.
  12. Which is why I bring this up EA signed an agreement to have star wars rights till 2020 which they will try to renew. So swtor has till 2020 to get its **** together. If we make it very clear as a community that we want balance none of this single player ******** they serve us on a $15 a month plate they will have little choice but to change their priorities or loss more subs than they have already. If the community continues to feel ignored like right now soon the leaving crowd will start flowing a lot faster.

Honestly they wouldn't have to hire more people to address the balance issues they could just go off of player feedback and what comes consistently up on feedback like an ability is hitting to hard or to low they tweak it and put it in the maintenance patch and wait for feedback if they did it right or to much or to little.
  14. I love this idea it goes with what World of Warcraft is doing as it separates classes from pvp and pve. World of Warcraft took this idea and made it real and its working but right now they're overdoing it. If Swtor took this and took it slow but consistent approach this game would benefit and the money would start rolling in.
  15. Swtor is an MMO so pvp and pve in the game is a must. When 5.0 launched its arguably the most unbalanced the game has ever been. In pvp Mercs/mandos are running around with 3 or 4 lives while doing decent dmg. Snipers are 100-0ing people in seconds if allowed. Sorc how ever been leaning on the above average side of the power spectrum for 2 expansions have been shafted besides the healing sorc. Operatives are even worse now than dps sorcs. Keep in mind I'm strictly going with pvp I have very little knowledge besides what I read on forums and what players are saying in game about pve. The Devs have been quite for some time about re balancing or even solving the issue of balancing pve and pvp separately. All they have shown is fixing a few bugs here and there and adding new cartel packs. PVE hasn't received a new operation in 2 and a half years. PVP hasn't seen a new and interesting game mode/map since Odesson and I'll point out a lot of players hate that map. Re-balancing characters and their respective specs don't happen till a new expansion is released and that can't happen any longer. As if your madness sorc, concealment operative, or a Powertech that got shafted in 5.0 and is considered nonviable by the majority of the community well guess what you have a whole year of being a crutch or useless spec. All we ask is some word or confirmation that this is being discussed and addressed and what the Devs have come up with as possible fixes or solutions to these problems. We love the story so far is great, but for an MMO we want group content to enjoy with friends not a single player experience where we spend $15 a month to enjoy by ourselves.
  16. As a dps sorc community I think we can all agree bioware dun ****ed up. Even other class forums are saying "at least you aren't as bad as dps sorcs now!". Everyone knows dps sorc is the laughing stock of the community. I for one will say madness's ability to survive a fight as much as it did was a bit strong but when you look at the damage they dealt it kind of made sense. We madness sorcs were not bursty at all so we had to survive long enough to deal that damage. Now the damage and healing is so crap that it's actually recommended to just reroll to a different class.

Not only has our healing got shafted so has our dmg, Madness wasn't even that powerful to begin with the dot spread in warzones really didn't do much but fluff damage pad on the scoreboard if you have a good healer that dot spread was just useless yes we topped charts but was it really good dmg topping or just the dot spread. So yes people cried out for sorc nerf and it happened now sorc is back in 2.0 when they were ****. In 5.1 I can only hope for our dmg to be returned with some our healing. I'm not asking to be "king" or Throned on the OP scale I just want to be viable in pvp.
  19. Yeah after doing a few ranked matches Madness in itself is almost useless if not is useless, with its meh dmg and alright self healing I can't see dps sorcs doing anything in 5.0. The massive dmg nerfs to madness was really unneeded. Most kids complaining about sorc dps didn't know that our dot spread is the best in the game thus just number padding in warzones but in all actuality madness dmg was above average leaning more to average than strong or OP like most think. I just hope in 5.1 they buff our dmg its trash in pvp and in pve now.

  21. I'm not saying this idea would work in TOR's current build but maybe sometime in the future if it can work. So I was thinking what can make the Madness/balance spec not be overpowered (Granted something would have to be given to other classes to compensate) but something that goes with the wrath proc for Lighting Strike. I was looking at Lightning burns part of the spec and it seems to be a meh type of spec addition, 20% to deal small dmg off of Force Lightning and 60% off of Force leech but instead of that why not make it a dot that is triggered off of Lightning strike only when its with a wrath proc and does more dmg it does now and over time like another dot to the mix. Its a theory anyway but right now it feels like its a very under appreciated part of the spec and mostly set aside, something can be built of that part of the spec to make the spec feel more organic and fun. Just a thought maybe you guys can expand on it?

  23. Madness: Super Mobile much better than lightning Damage over time Your damage is going to be small numbers but in quick tics and has decent burst if done right. Self healing is great since you have abilities that do damage and heal you. Ability to spread dots to 8 total targets for 18 seconds Lightning: Good Burst damage Single target dps Good mobility Fun procs but straight forward rotation not much change in it Self healing is okay but not great better than some classes but for light armor its mediocre Lots of lightning spells (Duh)
  24. There was concept art or a possible new weapon, The Light Pike, so new class can be coming or they could be adding something new.
