  1. I've been playing swtor since beta and basically have done nothing but pvp over the years. I don't even remember the last time I went on a Operation. Anyway Pre-mades... are they fun to fight against? Obviously no it's not. Is it an issue the Devs have to fix? No... why you may ask? Well SWTOR at the end of the day is in fact a MMORPG so if you're playing an MMO to not socialize at all you're playing the game wrong. These que systems are generally disliked and to some outright hated systems that MMOs keep putting in because it's easier to make a que system then to moderate chat rooms for finding groups. People can almost get away with saying anything in general chat and never get banned because it's most likely not moderated in the slightest. It's almost a learn to play issue as well and I'll tell you why. Two very skilled players and most certainly destroy a 4 man team of average players. My friend and I did it and still do to this day. I will say this however, the skill gap on players vary wildly You'll generally be considered either a "good player" or a "bad or noob player".
  2. Personally I think we in general came out okay on the class changes. I'm especially excited for Madness since it's sustain in pvp is being addressed. It's hard to say where we will be sitting on the proverbial pole we call the META until the game is actually out because the Devs aren't great on sharing every number changes.
  3. The damage of Volt Rush is lackluster at best. I don't even have it on my bar at this very moment. It does less damage than shock even at the 2nd stack.
  4. Dps sorc master race still exists, unquestionable that we're trash in the elites of ranked but by far not push overs unless you're bad. Not hard to hold your own in pvp. Ranked ehh it gets tough but if a challenge and being handicapped slightly scares you... well playing a light armor class, in general, isn't something you should be interested in. I for one played sorc dps since 1.8 and continue to do so to this day and with a big ol' smile as I beat most players even in Fotm classes. Most people don't know how to play their class outside of their basic function anyway. Its those who continue to fight in the class they enjoy even if it's underperforming and find a way to continue playing competitively those are the people I respect. I have and always will suggest people play sorc and attempt to master its playstyle and how to fight other classes in pvp because if you can beat most classes as a sorc you're a solid pvper handsdown. -Zànios
  5. I love how dps sorc won't be touched in the DCD department when it's super lacking.
  6. I've made a few replies about this and couldn't agree more. Most of our damage is cleave and a skilled healer can easily heal it. Madness single target dps is slightly underwhelming and I'd like to see it addressed. Also for us to put out dps like that on those screen shots we would have to be free casting and the enemy team grouping like a bunch of headless chickens since our DCDs are nonexistent and we as a class take more damage than anyone else.

  8. I'd love to have my force lightning be black red omg I would die for something like that.
  9. I agree 100% on dps sorcs being the runt of the litter of class and their roles. However just stating they're bad isn't going to allow the devs to accurately see what is actually wrong with the class. Most of the devs don't even play the game and Kieth he plays but he's mostly the only one who plays on a regular basis. We as a sorc community need to be more detailed of why it's bad what mechanics are not working point out what's wrong and why and provide a possible solution. Personally, I find the dot spread mechanic of the sorc and the class's heavy reliance on the cleave damage is hurting the class than actually solving it. I mean let us take a real good look at what we're dealing with. Affliction and creeping terror do the same damage around 2.8k-3k damage each tic, over the 18 seconds on the dots they do a combined damage of 33.6k that's over 18 seconds. When you have classes like mara in their dot spec that has an ability that can and will crit over 30k! That's just one ability in a single gcd and the spec is considered sustained dot spec!. Now a dps madness sorcs burst consists of Force Leech and death field and demolish and if you use them together with recklessness you get somewhere around 25k to if RNG is on your side 30k that's 3 abilities not to mention you have to cast force lightning to get the 4 four stacks of wrath. So a madness sorc has a setup time to even do its damage. Roughly about 10 seconds to get your damage rolling if you're fast and stat stacking alacrity to speed things up. So our ramp up time is super slow, our damage is still low for the amount of time it takes to start moving, and on top of that our DCDs are really bad. Now, let's compare DCDs with our ranged examples. Snipers can pop their DCDs without sacrificing dps output/pressure, Mercs can pop DCDs and not sacrifice DPS output/pressure. Then there are us sorcs where our only notable DCDs is force barrier, it takes us out from doing dps for a solid 8 seconds unless we break it early than there is an after effect of what they call a powerful shield *Enduring Bastion* which dies to 2 or 3 abilities and now you're left defenseless for the next 3mins or 2 and a half minutes if you take the utility. Static barrier is a poor example of a DCD so I will not even consider it one. For self-healing, if we consider self-healing a DCD than anything can be argued a DCD. So sorcs are still at a big disadvantage compared to other classes and we should continue to have our voices heard till they are met with reasonable and respectable buffs. We as a community like I stated above cannot continue to act the way we are by saying "WE'RE BAD BUFF US" or "IF YOU DON'T BUFF US WE WILL UNSUB" no one is going to listen to you complain like that. You must make an effort to explain why we need a buff and show examples of what is actually going on. The Devs are not perfect they make mistakes and do a lot and yet we act like animals and instantly want to crucify them, they're humans too they can over look things and mess up a lot.
  10. Exactly, the way swtor has madness right now is actually really hindering the spec. My whole argument about madness is it's heavy reliance and unavoidable need to dot spread to get the most dps.
  11. I just hate the reliance madness has its dumb dot spread mechanic. Personally, dot spread should be a tool or a passive dot spread like the corrosive grenade, not an integral part of the spec to function properly. I would absolutely love if they shifted the spec to a more sustained single target build with light dot spread mechanic. It makes it hard to balance a class when the class has to fight 1vX to get the full potential of the spec. Sure we can do some good dps in a pvp warzone but it's all fluff damage and makes no real impact unless the enemy doesn't have any healers even still takes ages for the damage to really start showing. I've already contacted Kieth about the possibility of changing how our damage is delivered.
  12. I was wondering if we can have the level 1-50 class story replayable even at level 70? I'd love to play my inquisitor class story again. Kieth, I demand you do this!
  13. As a pvper this buff means little as it doesn't fix our core issue, we just don't do enough single target dmg to do any real meaningful damage. Our dps specialization madness relies on dot spread way too much as dot spread should be more of a tool and less of our demanding damage form. Not to mention until 5.4 our survivability is trash. Our only good DCD takes us out of the fight for 8 seconds and still is crap because after the channel the shield gets destroyed or runs out too fast to mean much. Our only utility that made that ability actually really good got gutted and only heals 15% hp. With static barrier being nerfed despite it being a **** 30s DCD as it absorbs almost nothing it is less of an ability and mostly till buffed not even bother using it. On top of that, they're nerfing dps off healing even tho our survivability is utter trash even further for whatever reason. I can only hope they correct this issue or give us something. Personally, I like the dot aspect of the spec but I hate its hindering reliance on a spread mechanic that requires you to fight 1vX to feel the full effect of the damage the spec can bring to bare. I would like to see a shift away from the dot spread mechanic reliance of the spec to a single target sustained powerhouse. Otherwise for the spec to work to its full potential the spec would have to have OP amounts of DCD to basically throw yourself at the enemy team to get your full damage potential. I regularly make top 5 damage in most warzones but I know most of that damage is due to dot spread not actually bringing real-time damage. 2.8k a tic for 2 dots every 2.5s to 3s for a total of 18s each (Affliction and Creeping Terror) That would add up to 33.6k dmg over 18 seconds with 0% alacrity with 15% alacrity it's more or less 33.6k dmg at around 15 seconds. This is not including potential DCDs the target throws up or healing. Now a burst spec can do 33k in 2 seconds and do so again in another roughly 6 to 12 seconds. Just my opinion of the spec/class in its current state and soon 5.3 changes.
  14. Far from dead in pvp I enjoy sorc in pvp but I won't argue that it's lacking in the defense department. Also instead of making a pointless thread to see if people agree with your brain dead click bait how about you actually start to actively look into the problems and help the devs solve them.
  15. Thank you for addressing the force negative rotation of madness. My only issue with the buffs to their dmg is that the dots are now relying heavily on a broken mechanic with death marks I propose remove the 5% buff from that passive and throw it in Force Horrors (Buff to 15%) (Up from 10%) It will make the same difference but make it less of a chance for another hatred/sorc to take your damage. Until you can fix the issue with Death Mark I would also recommend changing the passive or fixing the issue asap as it is frustrating that potentially another sorc/sin is taking my dmg buff away from me. P.S. I want some good DCDs in 5.4. I hate doing everything in my power to survive and still dying to some random average player. Might not be the place as well but may I suggest the two dps specs for sorcs get a passive that increases the cooldown of static barrier but increases the dmg absorbed 2x the original, some real dedicated DCD would be great. (Just an Idea/suggestion)

    Madness

Well, our dmg needs a buff too. I think it has to do with how long the dots last for. For example, 18 seconds for a dot is super slow especially when the dot only does barely 10k on the tooltip. Also, our single target is a sad example of sustained dps. I would like to see wrath proc get a buff to 25% to even 30% drop the dmg nerf on lightning barrage to 15% to 10% and replace Dark echo with a 50% chance for your dots to hit a second time for 75% of the damage( even 50% or 25% it will just be better than what Dark Echo is now). This may be a little too much but give or take any of these changes would be welcomed. All I want is madness AND lighting (Outside of the exploit) to be viable and a scary foe for someone to fight in pvp. Personal bias, however, is I want madness to be the superior spec again I just lost madness too much to have lighting beat it if they're close then I'll be okay.
  17. Lightning sorc is barely viable only if you get the Chain lightning exploit. Kinda sad that an exploit brings a class into viability.

So I know madness and lighting are in a bad place. What I honestly want to know tho is what in the actual heck is Dark Echo going to do to improve the spec? 50% chance to do crap internal damage? lightning burns does more damage and it has a 20% chance to tic off force lightning (Personally makes 0 sense the ability is literally called force lighting) I can't be the only one where I want that crap spec passive to change into something more meaningful. Just a rant I wanted to point out.
  19. I'm just waiting for Sorc dps to be back on the throne so I can purposely target the mercs who think they're hot ****. Show them what skill + OP actually looks like...
  20. As for the Sorc DPS yes we have healing arguably not the greatest at the very moment but still potent enough to heal yourself but that's because we have no real damage mitigation or a 2nd life anymore (Corrupted Barrier utility got nerfed so it's useless) and no real powerful DCD a side from Force Barrier mind you you can't move from that position unless you break it early or wait for it to finish. The only mitigation we have is Cloud Mind utility that reduces damage by 25% for 6 seconds. Static barrier absorbs up to 10-11k atm so one filler ability and boom it's gone almost wasted force tbh. Not to mention our dmg since 5.0 has been nerfed unfairly hard. I will agree PT's are lacking in the DCD department. How ever their damage is still strong. Marauders if they had healing on top of their damage they would honestly be getting more hate than Mercs. Snipers as a sorc dps I can handle them fairly well as if they start putting a lot of pressure I will just LOS and heal. I wont argue that Snipers for a ranged class do a fair bit more damage than I would like I honestly wont be surprised if they get a slight nerf in the up coming balancing changes. I only speak in the form of pvp and pve isn't my thing and I find it uninteresting. Personally I'd like to see Mercs and snipers nerfed, Mercs on their retarded DCD's and sniper on their unrivaled damage for a ranged class. Sorc DPS, operative DPS, PT DCD's and pyro PT dmg all buffed. I would also say sorc healers be nerfed and Merc heals and op heals buffed slightly so all healers can be balanced or close to it. Just my two cents on the subject I will admit I'm a bit biased when it comes to Sorc dps but I could easily say they're at a bad place in terms of damage at the moment.
  21. All I'm saying is sorcs got their oh sh*t button nerfed along with their healing and damage. So much for dps specs more like auxiliary specs. Healer sorcs how ever are still kings... I hate healer sorcs.
  22. Not saying plasmatech isn't weak but this is a sorc thread make one for plasmatech.
  23. Not saying plasmatech isn't weak but this is a sorc thread make one for plasmatech.
  24. In my opinion lighting needs a slight buff in dmg and going under pressure. Needs more dmg reduction than heals so it give madness that special snowflake feel. Also something like using cloud mind makes your next cast uninterruptible would be nice too. ( Complements the dmg reduction utility with cloud mind ) Madness needs more survivable so heals from dots and force leech needs to be buffed. Force lighting needs some love too. Also buffing Wrath wouldn't hurt. Dot spread is not to bad. Just single target for madness. A lot of people believe sorcs need a buff either in damage or other areas and for good reasons 5.0 shafted us, but that's all they do say "Sorcs needs a buff" instead of just saying how about making suggestions. I also agree that healing and DCD's arms race is getting out of hand just fyi.
