  1. Will they? If not, is there a way to transfer one of them to a low lvl alt through a piece of orange gear?
  2. I am a Bounty Hunter, so I am actually going to grind out WH and an EWH chest. The new Bounty Hunter gear looks absolutely atrocious, and I love the look of the EWH set. I will get the chest so I can match the rest of the gear to it. I think I will do the same for PvE. Do HM FPs for the Columi, and get the Rakata chest from Lost Island. I will also need to grind dailies so I have the credits to move all the mods lol.
  3. I am days away from hitting 50, and with all the 2.0 changes, I have no clue what to do. I could start grinding WH, but by the time I am full WH, a whole new PvP set will be out, and the comms I spent on the WH could of been spent on the 2.0 set. I could spend time grinding BH comms, but by the time I am full BH, 2.0 will be out, and BH will be dropping in HM FPs. In the mean time I will be doing those same HM FPs and getting Columi, and of course after 2.0 Columi will be removed from the game. I thought about grinding some cool Black-Purple and Black-Red PvP color crystals, but I am not sure if the +41 Expertise crystals will be obsolete after 2.0. I figure that at least I can max out my valor, but who knows if the new sets will even require valor. Any thoughts on what a fresh 50 could do to effectively get ready for 2.0? Should I just cap out my BH and WZ comms and wait?
  4. So the PTS 2.0 patch notes (subject to change) says... "Level 50 Flashpoint encounters now drop Black Hole pieces" "Classic Commendations can now be acquired from level 50 Flashpoints, Operations, and daily areas, and they can be used to purchase Campaign gear from the Classic Gear Vendor on the Fleet, in addition to many items previously purchased for Daily Commendations at Mission Support Vendors" "Eternity Vault All Story Mode bosses now drop Black Hole gear. All Hard and Nightmare Mode bosses now drop Hazmat gear" "Karagga’s Palace All Story Mode bosses now drop Black Hole gear. All Hard and Nightmare Mode bosses now drop Hazmat gear" "Explosive Conflict All Story Mode bosses now drop Hazmat gear. All Hard and Nightmare Mode bosses now drop Hazmat pieces and Unassembled Dreadguard items" http://dulfy.net/2013/02/20/swtor-patch-2-0-patch-notespts/ Dulfy is awesome So I guess they will remove all the Tio/Co/Rak gear? Do you think they will up the difficulty in KP and EV? If you get BH drops in HM FPs, and you get Camp comms for dailies, then you would be doing KP and EV with BH/Camp gear already on. I mean those raids are easy enough as is. They are also baby proofing Lost Island That was the only HM I liked doing because you were not guarantied to clear it with a Pug.
  5. Good point, I know nothing of game design, and thought that the new gear was made after the backlash of the Campaign gear. I am more than willing to wait until the next set of gear as long as it will be more like some of the Cartel gear they are putting out (Revan/Phantom/Valiant/Interstellar/Investigator)
  6. First of all I never complain about this game. There are things I do not like, but I am reasonable person, and understand that no game is perfect, and the good far out ways the bad in SWTOR. With that said, I will complain to anyone that will listen about this god awful endgame gear. Why should I have to pay to take out mods and put them in low lvl or cartel gear? That is not how a MMO should work. Endgame raid gear should be something that you WANT to wear. If I read the forums and realized that the community was split on this topic, hell, even it were 40/60, I would not say a word. The problem is that vast majority hates the gear, Bioware has acknowledged we hate the gear, and yet the same massive shoulder pads and over the top helms are what we get. The worst part about it all is that Bioware recently changed some of the cartel gear because the fans complained! How is it logical to take feedback on the cartel gear, change the cartel gear, and then completely ignore the feedback when it is time for new raid gear?
  7. Its all so so bad! How in the **** can a dev look at this and say "Looks great, the fans will love it" Each new set gets a backlash from the majority of the players, and yet they keep designing terrible looking endgame gear. They even changed some of the Cartel gear because the players hated big shoulder pads and over the top designs. I will say the Agent looks good, but the BH has big shoulders (documented the players hate it), Warrior big shoulders. Inquisitor spikes on the shoulders (documented the players hate it), all the helms are crazy over the top (documented that players hate it). I mean one of the BH helms has one eye covered lol. Who sits down to design a helm and thinks "Hey lets wrap the players head with a *********** ace bandage" Idk, I think I might be done with this game. Also, there is a difference between big shoulder pads (like the BH WH sets) and pads that stick straight out parallel to the ground. I mean where else do you see shoulder pads that stick straight out, and in some cases in this game, *********** up in the air!
  8. I understand that no one is talking about damage. That is why I brought it up. Too many people assume that the damage posted on the scoreboard is an indicator of how well the person did. That is why the top DPS often gets as many MVP votes as the healer. I said DPS was more important in raids based on the situation, not skill. The goal for a DPS player in a raid is to put out enough damage to drop the boss before it enrages. It goes without saying that DPS in a raid is the only thing that maters to a DPS player. WZs on the other hand are much more about situational awareness due to the dynamic nature of facing other humans. Because of this, and the fact that someone can AoE/DoT spam to the top of the DPS charts in a WZ, a much lesser vaule should be put one ones scoreboard damage numbers.
  9. I do not think DPS in a WZ means as much as DPS in a raid. Classes/builds with great AoE/DoTs will always top the charts. The problem is that AoE/DoT damage gets healed half the time. I tried PvPing as a Madness Assassin instead of my usual Deception. I set out to do the most damage as possible and ended up topping the charts for most of the day. It was cool doing all that damage, but it still was not nearly as effective as the burst damage I could do with the Deception. Even though Deception had me doing 2/3 the damage of Madness, the Deception damage was not getting healed. I wish the game could calculate the amount of healed damage and then subtract it from each players damage output.
  10. So much misinformation lol. I read in multiple places that Deception was the way to go for endgame DPS. I even asked in gen-chat and multiple people said Deception. I am glad I stumbled on to this thread. Like they say, numbers never lie.
  11. I thought Deception had the higher ceiling for DPS?
  12. Smash may be powerful, but it is the only thing that the spec has going for it. Its a perfect example of a one trick pony build. Most AoE damage gets healed. So saying that the Jugg hits 4 ppl with 7k means nothing. how often do you see 4 1v1 happening right next to each other? And if its 4v2 then the 4 should beat the 2 even if the smash hits for 10k. So you are now left with the 1v1 situations. A 7k onetime hit means nothing when every other attack the Jugg has is sub par. I think people get freaked out when they see half their HP get melted in one shot, but its is no different than when I get 2 maul crits in one fight (thats just about every fight) The difference is that all my other attacks are so much better than the rest of the Jugg attacks. Same goes for just about every other DPS spec besides maybe the Mercs and Commandos when it comes to out DPSing a Jugg. No serious PvPer sits down to roll a DPS toon and picks a Jugg. With that said, I do not know how anyone can think anything about a Jugg is OP.
  13. I have been away from the game for months. Before I left I focused on endgame PvE, but this go round I would like to play a lot more PvP. I have rolled a Deception Assassin, and I am having a lot of fun with it. As I get closer to 50 I want to start really researching the class from a PvP stand point. Is the tank spec/DPS gear still the best option for this advanced class in PvP?
  14. Holy ****! I did not think we would see a new Stars Movie for a long long time. I remember reading that Lucas was seriously thinking about making a new movie about Luke's nephew, Cade Skywalker. The movie was supposed to be a bit more edgy, and a nod to the older SW fans. It all sounded great until Lucas's movie Red Tails got slammed by critics and fans. Lucas then basically said the fans will never be happy, and that he was done making movies. After all that happened I figured we would not see another SW movie until after Lucas died. I think this is awesome news! I just hope Disney will diced to go the Cade Skywalker route. I mean Disney did alright with the PG-13 Pirates of the Caribbean movie (The first one anyway)
  15. Ranged + AoE + Multiple Targets = Top of the chart in WZs. I am not trying to say that you are not a good player. I am just saying the WZ damage is a poor indicator of a players/classes ability to put out high DPS in PvE. All classes have a rotation that can pull aggro from a tank in the right situation. Again, I am not saying you are not good, just saying that it is not a good measure of a player/class. Also, consistently ripping aggro from a tank is bad thing lol. You should try not to do that in the future.
  16. Sents do have a threat reduction, force camo. Regardless of guard, a good DPS knows how to maximize their DPS while avoiding threat. If you are pulling aggro it is your fault. DPS that can top the chart are fairly common. A DPS that can top the chart while maintaining situation awareness is somewhat rare. The best tanks and the best DPS will all tell you that it is up to the DPS to avoid threat.
  17. 150 CCs are worth what? A buck? Maybe 2 bucks? You contacted customer service over $2? Idk man, your sauce is pretty weak. Plus EA did not have to give you a free month, and they did not have to give us CCs for the months we had a sub.
  18. I may not agree with Biowares design choice, but it is their choice. It is not up to us to determine what the quest line should involve. If they put in a design that was broken then it would be different. People sound like children with this "but I dontwana" nonsense. HK is not supposed to be easy to get, and yet people are now complaining about a quest that will take them no more than 15 mins at worst. It is what it is, man up and do what you have to do, and then move on.... Or forgo the quest line in spite, and pout. I mean should Bioware also make the solo players happy by not adding any heroics to the quest line? What about the PVP players? Should there not be a way to get HK by just PVP? Again I ask, what would you do in real life if you were faced with a small problem? Would complain until the problem went away? Or would you just use your common sence and figure out how to solve the problem on the spot?
  19. I think on paper you are right, but big picture you are wrong. I agree that it is not the best design to put PVE players in PVP situations. Yet how soft have gamers become? People will spend more time reading this entire thread than they will spend in Outlaws Den in pursuit of HK. Does 5-10 minutes of discomfort really even warrant a thread, or even a thought? What would you do in real life if you were forced in to a minor inconvenience? From your posts I would say you are an intelligent and thoughtful person. Would you not just figure it out and move on? It is my thought that the PVE players should do the same.
  20. I love the gear progression just as much as the next guy (Thats why I will always have a SWTOR sub), but GW2 is so refreshing with its lack of gear progression. I love that I can craft my endgame gear. The system allows you to run difficult content as a fresh 80. I of course will choose to then grind the dungeons for the pretty skins for my armor, but stat wise I am good to good to go as soon as I hit 80 and craft my gear box. I love SWTOR, but the game is way too easy, the planets feel dead, and their is no sense of wonder like GW2. Plus GW2 is up there with the greats with SPVP. I think you should give GW another chance.
  21. Most of the people left are the ones that like story and not much else? On my server there are around 500 people on fleet, and according to the "who window" the vast majority of them are lvl 50s. When I go to Belsavis I see 50 ppl, and most them are lvl 50s. When I go to Kass I see less than 100, and still that 100 has lvl 50s. It looks like most of the people left are the ones that enjoy playing with their 50s.
  22. GW2 is free to play though. SWTOR had 500k-1Million people paying $15 a month 6 months in. Now that SWTOR is going F2P it will have a lot more than a Million players. The IP alone will bring more than a Million when it is F2P. I am not saying GW2 is not a good game, I am enjoying it, but on a lvl playing field... GW2 beat Star Wars? I just do no think that will happen. Again, I love both games, and will be playing both a year from now, but the Star Wars IP trumps all most of the time. Especially when its free lol.
