  1. Agreed, I use them in PvE when opportunity arises (pommel strike moreso then Opportune) but its very situational where my core rotation works regardless of mob level. I don't think I ever got those two skills off in a PvP setting.
  2. The hardest part of buying gear as you level is finding someone selling what you need. If you're in a guild its easy but searching the GTN can be tough. I personally went with Cybertech/Scavenging/Underworld for my Sentinel and got all orange gear by level 15. With cyber I can keep the armor and mods up to date as I level then bought enhancements/hilts/crystals with commendations or off the GTN. The same piece of Orange gear is useful from level 11 all the way to 50 if you keep the mods up to level. Also as a sentinel cybertech allowed me to keep T-7 up to level by crafting the droid parts.
  3. If you are a strict PvP player why do you need the speeder/speeder training? Just hang out on fleet and sprint from GTN, to mailbox, to PvP vendor, to PvP quest terminal.
  4. That does make more sense. I can list my low level comms for the lowbies for credits and if I'm a comm or two shy of something I want I can choose to quest for it or pay for it on the GTN. That gives the player an option to evaluate how valuable/ how much time you want to spend for a piece of gear or commendation.
  5. It depends on your class and your playstyle. I personally went cybercraft/scavenging/Underworld trading with my jedi knight and got all orange gear at level 11. Cybercraft allowed me to update all my armor and mod slots as I leveled, keep T-7 armored up, upgrade my starship for space missions, and build my own speeders. I used commendations and the GTN for crystals, hilts, and enhancements. At lvl50 I may switch to Biochem/bioanalysis/slicing for the jedi knight +5crit to biochem, +5crit to slice, and bioanalysis +10eff and utilize the reusables in WZ and PvE content.
  6. Cybercraft was useful to level since I used all orange gear and as a Sentinel and I had t-7 with me so i could craft him custom parts and keep him on level and not paying for a speeder saves a few credits. All I did was use commendations for my hilts and enhancements to stay geared up. That being said now that I'm 50 I'm going to wait until tomorrow, craft speeders for my alts, and drop it for Biochem then let an alt do my cybertech crafting. I don't see the changes to crafting being more beneficial to me at end game then reusable med packs and adrennals
  7. How would a free market dictate the prices unless you turn in comms for credits? Will a level 50 trade you 4 voss comms for 40 tatooine comms? Who would trade down high level comms for low ones? The 3:1 rate will be gone in a little more then 12 hours so whether you're happy with it or not is no longer relevent.
  8. Exactly, 1 for 1 would just cause people to hold on until 50 and I wouldn't expect BW to do that but set up an exchange rate. I hate the fact I have 2 or 3 comms from each low planet but if I had been able to roll a few forward I would have bought more commendation gear as I leveled. I never seemed to need the items at the time I was on the planet either becasue I was over leveled or the fact I could craft my own mods and armor.
  9. To the OP your phalynx method would be even better for a team of marauder/sents. I'll use sentinel terms. If organized they can... 1. Force camo in 2. Zealous strike to build focus, you knock them back. 3. Force leap back, 4. Overload saber 5. Force sweep and each gets a 2500 in 1 hit medal. Any cluster for targets is an open invitation for a force sweep bomb. I do this as a watchman spec but I believe this would be more effective for a focus(the shared) spec.
  10. So the universe has a standard currency and individual planets have their own currency. Seems to fit the SW universe (Republic Credits are no good on Tatooine, need something more...real). I do wish I can convert some low level planetary comms for more useful ones. Being level 50 my Tython and Coruscant comms are worthless.
  11. Doesn't any accuracy over 100% begin no ignore a portion on the target's armor? Past 110% accuracy you get diminshed returns but ignoring armor is always good for a DPS build and accuracy for casters reduces a targets resistance to force or tech powers.
  12. I'm a sent in level 49 PvE gear and the moment I dinged 50 I went into a WZ and still ended up with 3 medals, 15 kills, and some objective points. Is that anywhere close to what I did in the 10-49 WZ, no. Is it what I expected as a brand new 50, I think I did better then I thought I would. If you know your class the Marauder/Sent is very strong. I can't jump into 5 enemies and expect to last more then 15 seconds but I can pick off casters on the fringe of the battle 1v1. Know your limitations and play smart.
  13. I went with light armor for the belt and bracers because I couldn't find medium modable armor for those slots on my sentinel.
  14. I used green gear from quest rewards until I received orange items. Once I got orange gear I would just update the mods in it. If you want to be more self sufficient take up cybertech (armor, mods, droid parts, ear pieces, a speeders) or artifice (crystals, enhancements, hilts) to make your own mods as you level. Materials needed to make these items are normally found on the planets you are questing on so you don't have to buy or pay for missions to craft. I received almost all of my orange gear between level 10-20 and was still wearing it when I reached 50. Same for T7, I crafted all custom parts and upgraded them as needed.
  15. those two (that aren't planets) look like class quest (storyline) options.
  16. Advancing the story unlocks the companions. Your level dictates how many you can have crafting/gathering at a time. I'm level 46 with 5 companions (not counting the droid) and can deploy 4. When you reach a level where your maximum deployed number should increase log out and log in and it should update it. I've also read Ctrl+U (twice) to reload the UI resolves this as well.
  17. I had the same problem on hoth, the text on the screen made me think I had to finish a quest to unlock the conversation but the icon was yellow not gray. Opened my mission log and realized I had a ton of heroics/FP's I never did filling my quest log. After abandoning some I had no problems. If its gray in your mission log you'll only get like 5XP for finishing it so I abandon those first.
  18. This is my first MMO since they stopped being text based and I picked a Sentinel which now I know is a very diffficult class in general and not noob friendly. I never asked for new skills or a buff but took the time to understand what I do have and how they work. Sure its been three months of casual playing and I'm just starting to be a factor in WZ but its because I learned to stay away from things I'm not supposed to get into and I go after the correct targets now. Maybe it was to my advantage not to know any different as I have nothing to compare this to, but learning what you got instead of wishing for what you don't makes you a better player and will give you more immediate results.
  19. If you are rushing to get to 400 armortech the slicing would work because you can gather the nodes for credits as you craft. If you stick to producing "green" armor as you level you should be able to find schematics that only use scavenging materials. For synthweaving most time I need a UT material its for a blue or purple schem. I've never done armortech so it may be different. Once you hit 400 you can decide between dropping slicing for UT or just buy off the GTN.
  20. I got all orange gear as fast as I could and then, being cybertech, i did my own mods for armor and mods. I use my commendations for enhancements hilts and crystals or buy them off the gtn. I also have a droid companion and crafted fully moddable pieces for all his slots and keep them up to level.
  21. I started an alt and took slicing with only 500 credits available. All I do is log in, run missions, and go back to my main. In a few days I had over 50k credits from missions and selling missions on the GTN. Once I got sling up over 300 I run augment missions and can sell level 35-45 augments for a good bit. I know the GTN is different on all servers but its working for me and I only walk from GTN to the mailbox on the fleet.
  22. My Sentinel with the watchman spec is nasty. In PvP I tend to be in the top 5 for damage and get medals pretty easily but I'm not lvl 50 yet. It's not a stealth class but a very good DPS class. If you have a healer friend you rack up kills quick. In voidstar and Alderaan a force sweep with overload saber while the other team is gathered together always gets me my 2500 in one hit medal. For Huttball guarded by the force gives you 99% damage reduction at the cost of 1/2 your xp which can be just enough to get you past the goal line with the ball. If you get the ball near your own goal you can use force camo to reset the ball to the center.
