  1. Although I wouldn't use it myself I know there are people out there who would in fact appreciate a walkthough of the game. I especially think it would be useful to those who are new to the MMO environment. I think it's nice of you to take the time to put something together for other people. I don't necessarily use walkthroughs often, but I do sometimes get stuck and do researches on how to fix my problem.
  2. The box is pretty. I have two of them- I took my boyfriends. Now they sit side by side creating the full picture while holding up my printer.
  3. The Developers are rather busy people and just keep in mind that they're taking their time actually answering questions and informing the players of what's going on rather than spending those minutes developing something for the game. I'm not quite sure what kind of information you're looking for but I found that what they give us is sufficient enough. They can't give us information if they feel it's not 100% ready to be given out. As far as 1.3 is concerned they're not ready to give full details-or even half of the details since some of those could be scrapped. What's happening is that they're working on giving us constant game updates, new content, developing ideas, etc. And truthfully I'd rather them spend their time doing just that than to answer questions that have already been answered. And chances are that if you're not getting the information you want, they probably don't even know exactly what kind of information you want because they really just don't know yet. And, they can't tell you what they don't know, can they?
  4. I have a life too, and i don't play 24/7. My boyfriend has a full-time job and doesn't play 24/7 but we both got what we wanted out of the event. The announcement was there and does tell you what's going on. What it doesn't do is take your hand and lead you places which I found is essentially what you're asking. The announcer mentioned an outbreak and if you listened further it mentioned that the source was from Tatooine. It's enough of a hint to start exploring to see what's going on. Or, if you didn't feel like exploring, do what many other people did and ask your fellow players what's going on. As for the free month; it was mentioned on how to obtain your free month which was attain a level 50 character or get your legacy to level 6 by the certain date. It's not about how long you've subscribed, but I believe it's there to cater to the people who got bored after getting level 50 with nothing to do. Since you're already on the forums may I suggest, if you'd like an update of what's going on with the game, to check on the forum updates every so often so you're not left out of the loop. It's there on the main page and rather easy to navigate.
  5. Having that statue at the end of a dark hallway with the glowing red lightsaber not creepy at all? If I saw that one day at my house I'd probably pee my pants. That is...if I was wearing pants.
  6. I love this game too! Although I wish my husband would hit 50... We've been playing through story together since day one as a Knight (me) and Consular (him). Occasionally we'll veer off from story and do PvP warzones, space missions, or other things if one of us isn't online but we never do the side missions/story missions without each other. Thank Bioware for alts, each having different engaging stories I could play with while he's not around!
  7. The majority of replies you got had everything to do with the in-game store and whether or not they will add to it so I replied with a source. A rather vague "yes" is very fine to me. The fact that anyone even said anything on it makes me somewhat happy. And, just because he's the lead-combat designer doesn't mean he doesn't have any knowledge on the cosmetics of the game. If it had come across anyone's mind at the time when it came to the questions it probably would have been answered. Perhaps vaguely, perhaps not. Hopefully you get your answers. I'm good with "yes." On a side note: I'm actually looking forward to the Tauntaun.
  8. I bought mine for the fact that it's a Collector's Edition and it's got stuff for me to collect.
  9. This was answered a little over a week ago by Georg Zoeller. Source: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=3086446#edit3086446 Don't worry. We still get some love.
  10. Ooo the PvP finder thing is a good idea too. Before though I had the idea of using the tables at Cantinas to play Pazaak, both PvP and PvE, and to spectate. This was before I actually found Pazaak tables in the Cantina on Alderaan. So maybe they'll actually implement it like that.
  11. And apparently you're the only one! YAY!
  12. But did you like the tournament idea?
  13. Well gee, I thought it was a fantastic idea.
  14. Bump and Add: I created a thread a while ago about Pazaak but it got lost. Anyways, my idea was to make more use of the Cantina so the main area to play Pazaak would be large Cantinas. This was before I visited Alderaan and actually saw Pazaak tables. I got a little more in depth: (Copy and Paste) The Use Of Major Cantinas: ~In the current state of things the Cantinas aren’t really used for anything other than to gain “Rested EXP” and some quests/missions. I don’t know what Bioware plans in the future for the use of Cantinas but my idea for Pazaak will mainly be involved with Cantinas. -In all Cantinas there are scattered tables with seating. Many of the SWTOR players would love the idea of making use of these seats to actually sit. This idea will expand the idea even further. - I am aware that a lot of the cantinas do not have a lot of seating and tables. Because of this, Bioware can “Renovate” some of the Cantinas by adding in a Side room, an Upstairs and/or a Basement (depending on their level design as an upstairs or side room will not work.) Make use of the tables and seating for the ability to play Pazaak. Tables will seat between 2-4. How it works: One player will approach a table and select a seat. They will have the option to “Sit” or “Play Pazaak”. Selecting “Sit” will simply allow your character to sit and do whatever it is you do. Selecting “Play Pazaak” however will allow you to open a table to play Pazaak with another player. Upon selection you will be asked about privacy settings. Under one section it will ask you to select whether the table is private or open. Private setting will allow a party member join your table. Open setting will allow anyone to join your table. Under another section you may select your “Spectator” settings. This is only useful for the 3-4 seated tables. This allows players to observe a game in progress if the setting is enabled for them to do so. Under “Spectator” the player will have the choices “Closed”, “Party”, “Public”. Closed – This is so no one will be able to spectate your game. Party – This allows for anyone in the party to spectate the game that is not already playing. Public – This allows for anyone to sit and spectate the game provided there is an open seat. Another option that may be useful is to add the Player Difficulty. Basically this tells any other player your experience in Pazaak to warn the new players that they probably shouldn’t mess with you. PVE: PvE Players: As the section above is mainly talks about PvP Pazaak, for PvE players you may add in several different levels of NPCs sitting at random tables. Of course, it wouldn’t be quite immersive if all of the tables are unoccupied. TL;DR Just a little more in-depth idea that are PVP, PVE and RP friendly.
  15. I like. I want to be able to fully quip my companions but at the same time I want to be able to see Doc's pretty face.
  16. Opening Statement: I have no doubt that Bioware is most likely thinking about bringing in Pazaak to SWTOR. Whether it would be soon or in a few years I don't know. A while ago I created a very long post about how to bring in Pazaak and Swoop Bike Racing but it got lost within the bowels of General Discussion. The one thing I was quite proud of was the Tournament idea I had which was somewhere among the wall-o'-text. So here's my idea: "Every so often Bioware can announce a server event which one will be Pazaak. Players who wish to participate in such events can sign up at a Pazaak NPC which will be placed in specific areas like a Cantina. Players who signed will receive a notification via Mail about the time and place the event will take place. Once the event is announced, players who wish to participate in the tournament will have to confirm their place in the tournament. There will be a given deadline so they can sort out who many people will be participating. Of course, if you confirm your place but do not show up you will automatically be forfeit from the tournament and the player who was placed against you will proceed to the next round." Prizes: I believe that by simply participating and actually playing the tournament you will be given a prize. However, first round loss won’t be a very big reward. -This idea is mostly due to the fact that sometimes Real Life will come around and take you away from your game. So if you must leave in the middle of the tournament at least you'll get something for participating. As the player approaches finals, the prizes should get bigger and/or better. I believe this will encourage more players to participate. Non-Participants: And, of course, after all of this there should indeed be a scoreboard (like an active massive screen placed somewhere). As a tournament is going on, all non-participants may view the scoreboard by seeing who has proceeded to the next round and who didn’t. The scoreboard may remain after the tournament so all players can view who the Top Pazaak player is of the server. Also, perhaps you may also incorporate several viewing monitors so non-participants may view the actual tournament. Between each round there should be a break. Be it 3-10 minutes or whatever seems reasonable. Closing Statement: I believe this idea will help Bioware keep a lot of the player base, especially those who are big fans of Pazaak. It's a good break from your usual Endgame and it would build a good, strong, and perhaps competitive community.
  17. Good for you. You work Saturdays. Now we all know something about you. Most other people I know work the regular full-time jobs that go from Monday-Friday from morning to evening. They sleep in on the weekends when they can to catch up on the snooze. But this isn't about the fact that you work Saturdays and others who don't work weekends.. My point of my comment is that the staff of Bioware are working for us uncluding the whiny people who complain about bugs and downtime. They're working on it so we can play a slightly better game. So stop being so ungrateful. As for the whole downtime, like I said, they CAN'T cater to everyone. Some people work different shifts and can only play after midnight. Many people live in a different time zone. You make the North Americans and Europeans happy, what about the Aussies? and switch those around. Not everyone can be happy. Stop whining and just be glad they still care enough to be fixing the game for us. And a final note: Your comment had very little to do with anything being said. Very. Little.
  18. The never-ending "Fix your game!" followed by the "Stop giving me fixes when I want to play!" posts. The lovely folks at Bioware are WORKING during their lovely Saturday morning so YOU can PLAY the damn game. They can't cater to everyone at the same time. Ungrateful pile of whiny Nerfherders.
  19. That's what I've been saying, too. With several development teams going on and probably only one working on the bugs (probably the one that involves QA...) people are basically asking for the majority of Bioware to either sit on their thumbs or stand around and cheer for the QA team to fix the bugs rather than doing something useful. Also note to some people: Bugs don't get fixed overnight. Some of them don't get fixed in a week. And chances are that they ARE fixing the bugs you're complaining about but right now on their priority list are the more serious bugs. And sometimes, you won't see results in months. I like this. People may not use it now but a couple of years down the road I can see myself using it. I'm here from the start!
  20. Except your dealership probably won't check on your car and patch it up every week and adding new content every so often - That's YOUR job. I don't think hundreds of people can drive that very same car. A car without tires doesn't take you anywhere. I can run and play the game perfectly fine. A "Call of Duty" jeep cost over $10k more than the non-game-branded jeep but it's from the same company with almost the same of everything. I've seen one. It's just got a fancy CoD logo on the side of it and some not-worth-$10k stuff inside. Just sayin'.
  21. Knowing some developers chances are they have several departments which includes a Development team and a Live team who deals with the bugs. Who says they can't do both at the same time? Besides, why have the WHOLE department deal with bugs when half of them probably don't even know how to? Stop whining about "deal with bugs first" because that's implying that most of the department sits around with a thumb up their asses. They're doing what they can. You can't fix bugs overnight. Some things are more complicated than you think.
  22. Obviously I don't mean now or very soon. It's an idea for when they do decide to do it.
  23. We all know sooner or later that Pazaak and Swoop Racing will be added into SWTOR. Below are my ideas on how to incorporate them into the game. I believe this idea is a good way to strengthen the community and it is very role-player friendly. Pazaak The Use Of Major Cantinas: -In the current state of things the Cantinas aren’t really used for anything other than to gain “Rested EXP” and some quests/missions. Because of this, Bioware can “Renovate” some of the Cantinas by adding in a Side room, an Upstairs and/or a Basement (depending on their level design as an upstairs or side room will not work.) To the point: ~Make use of the tables and seating for the ability to play Pazaak. Tables will seat between 2-4. How it works: -One player will approach a table and select a seat. They will have the option to “Sit” or “Play Pazaak”. Selecting “Sit” will simply allow your character to sit and do whatever it is you do. Selecting “Play Pazaak” however will allow you to open a table to play Pazaak with another player. -Upon selection you will be asked about privacy settings. Under one section it will ask you to select whether the table is private or open. - Private setting will allow a party member join your table. -Open setting will allow anyone to join your table. Under another section you may select your “Observer” settings. This is only useful for the 3-4 seated tables. This allows players to observe a game in progress if the setting is enabled for them to do so. -Under “Observer” the player will have the choices “Closed”, “Party”, “Public”. ~Closed – This is so no one will be able to observe your game. ~Party – This allows for anyone in the party to observe the game that is not already playing. ~Public – This allows for anyone to sit and observe the game provided there is an open seat. -Another option that may be useful is to add the Player Difficulty. Basically this tells any other player your experience in Pazaak to warn the new players that they probably shouldn’t mess with you. PvE Players: Don’t worry my fellow PvE players. I haven’t forgotten about us. As the section above is mainly talks about PvP Pazaak, for PvE players you may add in several different levels of NPCs sitting at random tables. Of course, it wouldn’t be quite immersive if all of the tables are unoccupied! If Pazaak proves to be a huge success, then perhaps a selectable door to queue players is a possibility. Knowing what’s selectable: How would you know which table is available and their difficulty? A couple of ways Bioware can go about this. 1) Highlight the table and the seat. As the player selects the Seat it will ask if you would like to sit and play. In the same window it will display the other options the player has selected. 2) As with everything else, the table may have symbols above their head/table indicating to you that the table is open for you to play, observe or create a table. 3) Perhaps another idea that I haven’t thought of yet, or all of the above. Tournaments: -This is the fun part! Every so often Bioware can announce a server event which one can be Pazaak. Players who wish to participate in such events can sign up at a Pazaak NPC which will be placed in specific spots. By doing so, players who signed up will receive a message via Mail about the time and place the event will take place. -Once the event is announced, players who wish to participate in the tournament will have to confirm their place in the tournament. There will be a given deadline so they can sort out who many people will be participating. -Of course, if you confirm your place but do not show up you will automatically be forfeit from the tournament and the player who was placed against you will proceed to the next round. Prizes: I believe that by simply participating and actually playing the tournament you will be given a prize. However, first round loss won’t be a very big reward. -As the player approaches finals, the prizes should get bigger and better. -I believe this will encourage more players to participate. ~Of course, after all of this there should indeed be a scoreboard. As a tournament is going on, all non-participants may view the scoreboard by seeing who has proceeded to the next round and who didn’t. Between each round there should be a break. Be it 3-10 minutes or whatever seems reasonable. Swoop Bike Racing There will be several racing options: -Time Trial: Playing against yourself and trying to beat your old time-records. Also can be used to practice by yourself. -PvE: Player can choose to race against NPCs. The harder the difficulty is, the better the rewards are. -PvP: Player can choose to race against friends or other players. -Privacy options may be the same as Pazaak options. -Private will allow you and party members and perhaps Guild to race against one another and compare your own scores. Scores within Guilds can be viewed in the guild window. -Public will allow you to race against the server’s players times. There will be a public scoreboard placed at the swoop track for everyone to view. Observing the Game: Players who wish to observe can join a stadium. Within the stadium there are seats much like a movie theatre and a giant screen placed at the front. The screen will show shots of the current ongoing race. If this is a private race the observer will be instanced to another stadium which will view their friend’s race, provided that they are allowed to based on the selected option for the racer. Tournaments Much like Pazaak, there can also be a once in a while Swoop Race event. Players can sign up and join the tournament, like Pazaak, and play to be the champion. I believe these ideas will allow for a build of a stronger community and a great change in pace from all of the endgame stuff. Tournaments themselves in a great way for players to come back once in a while and I believe could be a great addition to the replay value of the game. Cross-Server: There are few hardcore players as compared to the casuals. To cater to the more hardcore players, those who are usually on top of the leaderboards may have the option to player cross-server. This way we can keep the fun in-server and allow the more bored people to have more of a challenge with the best of the other servers. Thanks for Reading! TL;DR: A way to incorporate Pazaak and Swoop Bike Racing into the game which are PvP, PvE and RP friendly and allows for players to perhaps be a little more social while making use of the Cantinas.
