  1. All MMOs have a "vanilla" stage. World of Warcraft is the only MMO in the last seven years to really get out of it's vanilla stage. Everyone else dumps a new MMO either because the vanilla isn't exactly like WoW, or it's genuinely bad. It's really, REALLY hard to release an MMO that has as much content / features as WoW does.
  2. Endgame raids exist. Endgame pvp is going to be buffed in the next content patch. Fact is, it's all there, so... yeah?
  3. Gamespot lost most of their credibility when they fired Jeff Gerstmann for not giving Kane & Lynch a better score. On that note, I think it's terrible that they gave TOR an 8, but gave Age of Conan, Warhammer Online, RIFT, and WoW's Cataclysm 8.5's. It's a big difference. Most people don't get an MMO unless it's mean review is 9.0, because everyone is looking for the next World of Warcraft unfortunately.
  4. Yeah, but this is an MMORPG... You need things to do when you hit level 50. Leveling alts shouldn't be the "hook" of your game.
  5. It's got really weak endgame at the moment. I'm waiting to see what happens with their big content patch at the end of January.
  6. BioWare, make our game better! Ok, we'll do weekly patches to address some of the bugs. But that's not GOOD ENOUGH. Fine. Nightly patches then. They'll be smaller bugs, and we'll have to close the servers around 3 am to 8 am. But that's TOO MUCH!
  7. WoW more like (Wall of Whine)
  8. http://www.gamespot.com/star-wars-the-old-republic/reviews/star-wars-the-old-republic-review-6348266 Dissappointing, really. Anyone looking at reviews for MMOs knows that an 8.0 out of 10 is slightly near the "garbage" tier of MMORPGs. Sad really, but oh well. Other MMO reviews Aion : 6.5 / 10 Age of Conan : 8.5 / 10 Warhammer Online : 8.5 / 10 WoW Cataclysm : 8.5 / 10 RIFT : 8.5 / 10 All of these (with the exception of Cata) didn't make it past the initial 6/mo period, and it doesn't look like TOR will either. Also, IGN gave TOR a 9.0 / 10, but we all know that was bought and paid for, right?
  9. But the sides are switched. They're the 1%, and we're the 99%?
  10. I didn't say you rushed at all. Maybe you've got more time to devote to the game, I dunno. But in WoW, it always felt like the goal was just to level. Pre-Cata I tried to take in the lore and story, but I could tell it was slowly becoming a jumbled pop-culture, Mary Sue mess. At least in TOR I get a feel for the world around me, and I can at least pretend what I do matters. Also, I never gave much thought to what my Troll Shaman's personality was, or even my Blood Elf Paladin. I know all of my TOR toons inside out, and I can feel some level of involvement in their stories. Transplanting that feeling from a single-player game to an MMO is a step in the right direction in my humblest of opinions.
  11. To enjoy the leveling process to 50 and participate in endgame. See, for me, and many others, TOR made leveling from 1 to 50 enjoyable.
  12. Aside from the "SWTOR is not WoW. It never claimed not tried to be", I agree with everything you said. I also made the text "gold" because this post needs to be on a plaque somewhere.
  13. Yeah! Because you counter end-game raid grinding with dungeon crawling grinding!
  14. Hope you're speaking for yourself, and not for me. Have fun with Diablo 2 HD.
  15. Excuses, excuses. Also, how can you be as advanced in the game as you claim and work 16 hour days? You work 16 hours, I'm assuming it's a minimal half-hour commute there and back (bare minimum), so that's 17 hours a day, leaving for 7 more for sleep. ...how did you get this far in TOR again working 16 hour days?
  16. I wouldn't go that far, but MoP doesn't seem to be impressing anyone.
