  1. Umm, use your mouse for movement, don't use the forward key, that finger should be resting on your primary skill and the ones you otherwise use a lot. I put the forward on the ] key, I only use it when jumping around for datacrons. I do have the backward key still mapped, on F because, yes, you should back up occasionally, like if it will quickly break LoS, like on the Alderaan platforms, or in Hutball, or any other number of places. It's quicker than turning around in SOME cases. I center my over 3 R G, strafe E and T. Easy access to the shift key and your hand is much closer to all those useful keys in the middle of your board. If you have long fingers move those keys right and use 4 T H instead. Go into prefs and bind your keys for your quickbars. After a day or two it will become second nature.

Ya, I did that after, but I really only noticed when we were fighting the boss and I was running around trying to keep up and generally feeling lost because I literally hadn't touched that guy in year. Good group though, I probably could have asked them to hold up but I didn't heh I guess I just didn't realize you could bind the same key to different functions and maybe you normally can't, in which case the game should have recognized my key bindings are more important than a hotkey for something you can pull up with a mouse whenever you need (ie, you will never need the legacy screen in an emergency lol)

Just a flavour of life, feel good post, are you anxious because I didn't ask any stupid questions?
  4. I don't know, so far I have a 50 Commando healer and I am in the process of slowly leveling a Sage healer. I went with Sage this time because I can swap to DPS at 50 but leveling up as a healer is really nice as the Sage. I really only do her Daily PvP quest at this point, but I will probably try to keep her Valour maxed, pain in the ***, but getting to Valour 40 is necessary so you don't continually waste your comms. You have to move, a lot!. Watch the Sorc video stickied, maybe in the Shadow forum. The way that guy plays, you have to as well. Move a lot, sprint around pillars, back of the ledge on the Alderaan turret platforms, break LoS, you'd be surprised how many people just stop coming after you, but you can also stun them, and then lift them after they waste their get out of jail free card on the 4 second mez. You will get an instant heal pretty early in the healing tree, but it is pretty meh unless you have stacked a lot of Willpower, and even then it's got nothing on you channeled heals. Your biggest heal is the one you don't have to do, use bubble. There is that Preservation skill in the heal tree, you'd be surprised how quickly you can throw bubbles up on your team. In under 50 most of the players are deeply, well, poor at PvP. You will often not even be targetted. If the other team is bad I like to test this by standing right in the middle of everyone and healing. Last night we kept the imps from getting through the first door, I stood right in the middle of the door they piled on, got 220k and only had to go around a pillar once. Ya, that was a really bad imp team and it's not a habit you want to get into, but my point is, it's often easy, and sometimes really hard. Most likely someone will guard you if your team is not equally stupid, that's a huge boon. Heal, interrupt, and bubble, bubble, bubble, knockback, and sprint. I really love Egress in the heal tree but I see it missing from a lot of builds. An important thing, if the person who guarded you is not around, rick click on the buff to get rid of it, it means nobody close to you can guard you no matter how far away the previous guard is. To tanks, when you move away, release your guard. Bottom line, my Sage doesn't feel anymore squishy than my Commando did. I think maybe it's a sign of the times. Even if I was set up as DPS they should still take me first, but the big difference is, it is VERY obvious when a Commando is healing, and not nearly as obvious when a Sage is doing so. I mean, there is no great big green line to your target, and you are not just standing with your hand to your ear not doing anything else. I actually feel less squishy at this point on my Sage than I did with my Commando, of course, I did not have all purple gear and stuff when I went through with my Commando, maybe that's the difference.
  5. Heh, should have rolled a Sage/Shadow apparently their ds ending is so poor you would never care if you missed it. The Knight meanwhile has one of the better ones. Anyway, good luck. The Knight is a lot more fun in PvE than PvP for me, but mine is a lowly 26 or so and doesn't have all the utlra smash skills.
  6. And literally, nobody will ever get mad at you for healing. I was in a WZ yesterday with a Commando lvl 40sh and she and I defended a door in VS. Despite the fact she kept me up while I killed whatever 2 or 3 people showed up there, I noticed in later Warzones she was healing for 40kish. So, umm, you don't have to heal all the time even if you could, but being able to when you really need/want to is a huge plus.
  7. If you are missing a slot, check the gtn periodically, or say, like an orange belt. You can often pick up an empty one for 4-5k.
  8. I have 3 Battlemaster bags waiting to be opened when I hit rank 50 Valour, which will probably never happen now as I can't imagine even trying to farm the rest of the War Hero set, much less the EWH. I guess Battlemaster sucks now? Does it even exist? lol I don't know what I am supposed to do with these bags. I guess if you want titles then ya Valour is important. I am also a little annoyed that you don't get extra valour or exp or whatever from over x medals, I can often hit 11 - 13 on my lowly Shadow if my team is any good, but I won't try so hard to hit all the targets if I don't get anything out of it. This will probably mean more fun for me and be better for my team anyway.
  9. Well, Nadia is not exactly young is she? Kaliyo customization 3 is...umm, an interesting choice heh, not for my straight laced personality.
  10. Okay, have fun. Do NOT INSTALL THESE PROGRAMS, at least on your gaming rig, if you have to install them, do a dual boot drive and use that for working or whatever, and leave your gaming install pure. Microsoft Office (any part) Itunes Adobe Acrobat There are others, but those are very common and they pooch your registry like you wouldn't believe putting **** all over the place.
  11. 250k and they whine, I guess because you didn't heal them only. Frankly, and I am not a super nice person, when I used to PVP on my Commando I would note the lvl 10s-15s and not heal them at all. That was when there were 50s rolling around and you are just wasting resources trying to keep them up. They get hit HARD. Of course, I was having fun and winning wasn't as much as priority as the buttheads you were apparently stuck with in your guild lol Play for a while, you should start to note people playing toons around your level that are guilded. If you end up in a few WZs with them you should ask them about their guild. I am super duper bad at remembering names so I am also guildless at the moment, but I will be trying to pay more attention to the people I seem to run with regularly. Grats on the 250k, it's not an easy number to reach if you have a few 10s - 15s rolling around because you tend to die too often.
  12. Well, if you face 7 warriors you are toast if even just three focus you, like, really toast, more so than if three Sins ganked you at the same time. It's not so much that you die, but that you die quickly along with everyone else close by. Way, way back when talking pre-release about this game, its the type of MMO situation they were claiming to do away with in Swtor along with chain stunning/dead. They have kind of failed on both fronts, though the chain stunning isn't nearly as bad now as it was in early Jan 2012.
  13. Hehe, Swedish, I just saw this so I loled. http://youtu.be/ybZiaSp-RzM In any case, I find general to be fairly helpful, but I am on Harbinger. I haven't quested much since coming back but I did run my sage through Tatooine and did all her heroics I had never done before because there was a large pop of people working on them. That made Alderaan green though, so it feels mostly like a waste of time to be questing there at all. Everyone seems pretty polite so far.
  14. I did a HM flashpoint last night after not playing for a year on my Commando lol, I was very bad, but we won. I just had on champion gear with a couple pieces of War Hero lol Don't sweat it, you can learn on the fly. I had played that Op a couple of times in the past, but like I said, a year ago. I don't remember even the SM version going that smoothly with the guys I ran with back then, and that's when I knew *** I was doing. I hope I was helpful.
  15. I am new to the server since this is where I ended up after the merge and I haven't played since Jan 2012 but I am gratified to be placed on a server with such awesome folks lol. I watched that video before I knew what server I was on and subbed lol Love!
  16. If she sucks, she won't be a good tank Shadow, that's probably the most difficult tank to play in terms of things you have to pay attention to. Here is what I did with my brother. You are, quite literally, almost impossible to kill for Silver mobs and some Golds as a Commando, my brother and our companions would beat on the mob while I held aggro and healed myself. For PvE, it's the best tanky/healer class. If you want DPS Healer, Scoundrel is for you. God, I took down the world boss on Tatooine solo, it just took for ever lol. Commando for the win in my opinion, but I haven't played a Scoundrel.

    Warzone Vendors

Okay, but that's a lame response, I quit every time I get a hutball match. I am most definitely not the only one lol
  18. Whitering

    Best PvP class

The thing that most consistently kills my Shadow is some annoying 328 damage tick from a pyro or other dot class. If it doesn't kill me, it at best takes me out of stealth which gets me killed.
  19. Not the same voice actor? I haven't played a male consular yet. That sucks then. The female consular is pretty good.
  20. If you have other crafters that may use the mats or just want to generate coin to buy the things you need then all gathering is a decent idea. For me I did all gathering on my Trooper until level 45ish when I powered up cybertech with all the mats I had gathered. At one point on my server I was the only one selling the end game purple space mods, well, for a whole day I was lol You will want to end up with one or the other because of the end game reusable med kits or grenades. I would go grenades if you pvp because med kits share the cool down with the pvp ones. If you are doing healing PvE then med kit is good, probably good for the DPS as well. If you are solo PvE then I would probably go with the grenades because you tend to use the dual self/companion kit instead of the self one. So, hope that helps.
  21. No, I was actually asking the question because I haven't played since Jan 12, but am now back as of a couple days ago. What do Valour ranks get you? I guess I am just wondering why it ultimately matters.
  22. Okay, so what happened exactly? I finished some HM mode dungeon with a few people about an hour before the server reset. I got some gear I will need to play my trooper in such instances again. Did I lose that stuff? I can't check until after work. Now I can't remember how much time for sure I spent PvPing on my shadow after, you can erase that it's just more coms I am throwing down the toilet anyway. Is this like when I work on something, forget to save it and shut down my computer? Is that what they did? lol
  23. Maybe it's for toons like my Shadow who will only PvP normally and tank in PvE when absolutely, last ditch, necessary. Since I won't have OP gear, I can at least have some tank specced PvP gear? I say leave it, if the shell is different maybe people will want it for cosmetics, or you can pull out the mods you like and shove them in some PvE armor.
  24. Most of the warzones I play are more about locking things down anyway, single target DPS is nice, but it doesn't help you win the match as much as whole lot of aoe damage.
  25. Well, if it was good low level gear it would be worth it, like it used to be. I won't buy a new weapon every few levels much less every few hours, which is how long it takes to make 900 coms. You know weaps are moddable right? So you just upgrade them the way you want.
