  1. Thanks guys for all the good ideas. will definately be putting them to use. Its good to hear other ways of playing. I use the mouse keyboard but use the wsaf for movement and mouse for directino turning So might play with other cominbatinons. See ya
  2. Thanks for all the good suggestions. I will definately put the keybindings one into use for next PVP session. As for the naysayers in PVP, i am thick skinned enough to ignore them but feel for the other really newbies whom I have get very discouraged after some comments. I suppose its the mother/grandmother in me wants to protect all even pixelated characters. I do know that if my daughter in laws toons is being ganged on, I am first to jump in. Again thanks for the good tips. Knew the forum would be the place to go.
  3. Okay have been playing computer games for "cough" years and feel that I am pretty good at hitting what I am at. But then in most of my games my targets stand pretty still due to the AI of the game. But my son nagged me for so long to finally try an online game and I love it! I play SWTOR every day for hours and my son and daughter in law play too. But I find my older fingers are unable to target the nimble players or PVP. I would excel, really I would, if they would just stand still. Failing that any tips to help an aging but determined Trooper Commando. 1. Do players use an X-box like controller to make their toons do these graceful leaps and bounds and acrobatics or, 2. Do they use numerous key bindings which to be honest I would have trouble remembering and my fingers would end oup quite tangled. 3. Any tips for best performance. 4. Do people recommend that regular pre level 50 purchase PVP armor, the best level they can afford and use to enhance their ability or wait til they are level 50 and doing ranked. Also do they duck into a change room to change into PVP gear before a match or wear it proudly all the time through missions/quests. As a matter of opinion, I feel that most of us pre level 50 PVPers are trying our best. SWtTOR attracts all ages and genders and its so refreshing to see them mix. But what doesnt help is the putdowns from the more skilled set to the less skilled set. I am sure that everyone started out learning and no matter what online game you came from one still had to adjust and learn new parameters. I try my hardest each match and each and every time I get killed, which to be honest is many, I get right back in no matter the score or time remaining. I try to defend. guard attack with all my heart and some days I should have stayed in my bunk on my space ship. But is all fun.
  4. Thanks for the info it is all helpful. BTW, that is one acronym I know, among others, LOL. I am a grandma not grandpa. All good though. Most people dont expect 60ish females to play and enjoy MMORPG. But then I am Sillygrandma
  5. Not exactly a new player. I started out free to play then became a subscriber and loving it. My son, daughter-in-law and I play every day for hours. But am confused with all the terms I am seein, after all I am a Sillygrandma. Could someone please put up a list of the various terms I see thrown around, ie PUG, Premade, DPS, just to mention a few. Sorry to be so dense but even though I have been playing computer games, mostly RPG, since 1982, these terms are confusing. I am proud of my current level 37 Jedi Guardian, Level 25 Trooper and Level 14 Jedi Sentinel. He is the baby of the group. Then the outlaw of the family is my level 4 sith. But the family try not to talk about her.
  6. I am 61 year old grandmother who has been into computers since 1982. My son aged 28 nagged me to play this game and I love it. Have always loved RPG and FPS but never was interested in online gaming. Now my son and daughter in law play together while sitting in the same room and have never had so much fun. Even bought subscriptions by way of time cards so bring on more!
