  1. I plan on leaving because I feel that the sheer number of idiots I have to deal with in-game -- or on the forums -- on daily basis will dramatically increase to above tolerable levels. Your post is a good example of the type of "noise" I hope to avoid by seeking "greener pastures." Do you still believe that I am "lying in your face?"
  2. I plan on leaving when the gates open to allow F2P players to join existing P2P servers; which I expect they will. Call me elitist, if you like, but it will not change my mind.
  3. It has always been that way. Even viewing an item for a different class of the same faction results in a different appearance. I never understood the reasoning because, it seems like, it would create more work for the art team and take away the ability, as an example, for a dark side Sentinel to look like his Sith counterpart (Marauders).
  4. I transferred one character over already with the express purpose of monitoring the GTN to learn what is selling -- at a profit. On my destination server, The Harbinger, Unusual Eggs seem to sell relatively quickly and the cheapest I have seen is 99Kcr; this may change over time, naturally. I also discovered some crafting, since I have all crafting classes covered, and harvesting opportunities. Of course, the easiest way to make money in this game is to grind dailies with your 50 but I do not have a 50 nor do I like to grind so I have to investigate other means.
  5. I am hoarding Unusual Eggs before migrating off of "my" server; and I mean that, I rarely see anyone else -- even on the Fleet! I feel like the Irishman in "Braveheart" refering to Ireland as "My island." Like the OP, I would (also) like to know if there is anything else I should be doing to take advantage of the lack of competition; like collect chests in PvP areas.
  6. Thanks for the comments, everyone. We have a 4th person in our (tiny) guild but he is not a regular player so we will just have to wait for him to login to use this feature; we are on a "ghost town" server so I doubt other people use the Group Finder anyway. I was thinking one way we could "control" the destination Flashpoint -- and still earn the rewards -- is to form a group of 3 and select ALL options then the 4th person, currently outside the group, selects a specific option and queues up. Hopefully, the GF will match us but since the 4th person only selected 1 option that is the option it will use.
  7. What would stop people from using a "copy" of their character to dup items and credits?
  8. If we start the Flashpoint "manually", do you know if we will receive Group Finder rewards for it? The reason I ask is that I usually 3-man all Flashpoints (and heroic content) and was hoping we could also earn Group Finder rewards. If we had to find a 4th person -- just to earn the Group Finder rewards -- it would not be worth using it (the GF) plus we (currently) play on a "ghost town" server so would be next to impossible to find one anyway.
  9. Is it possible to start a flashpoint with the Group Finder with 3 or less characters or does it only start when you have a full group (of 4 characters)?
  10. +1 to Wilhelm Scream Oh, and more cowbell!
  11. You need to complete chapter 1 on, at least, one character to create your Legacy. Once you create your Legacy, you will earn your first Inheritance item (main hand weapon) and can send mail to alts of the opposing faction on the same server so it is worth doing -- if you have alts.
  12. I hate it too. I am an alt-aholic crafter with no 50's on a dead server so I have little money to spare and no easy way to generate more. Making all of the components, the kit and the augment, are no problem but I cannot afford to install the kit so I stopped making them!
  13. I am assuming it is for an Imperial quest; my imp characters are not high enough for Tatooine yet.
  14. For the reasons reasonable people posted above, use /ignore. The only thing BW will do if you report people for LFG in general chat is the /facepalm emote.
  15. If you had to do every quest available on a planet to be ready for the next planet, levelling an alt would be a(n even more) painful and mind-numbing experience. At low to mid-levels, at least, you can "leapfrog" planets by just doing the class quests, some heroics and the flashpoint before moving onto the next planet. With 2 characters in the same faction, this is ideal, because you can still experience all of a planet's content without being forced to repeat it. That said, I understand the "completist" argument too and wish there was a way to slow down -- or stop -- XP gain. Perhaps, in the future, they will implement something like "alternate advancement" (ala EQ/EQ2) where you can split your XP between levelling your class and optional skills/talents/powers?
  16. You can join a lower-level group if I can have an option to exclude people that are too high for the content. The last thing I would want in joining a PUG is someone that everyone else just follows around and watches while they kill everything -- alone. Boring. At least with frenzied chain-pullers, perpetual AFKers and fatally curious wanderers there is a little excitement.
  17. There are also +Presence stims you can craft/buy or, better yet, the drink sold in most cantinas that stacks with stims; stims do not stack with each other. I wish we could craft that stuff, actually, because I am not sure it is worth buying.
  18. I need more coffee. I initially read the title of this thread as "Where can I get this CODpiece?"
  19. I believe that, in many MMOGs, gold farmers/seller frequently use stolen credit cards/forged game cards anyway so the actual cost of buying an account is negligible to them. That said, considering the cost of Legacy unlocks and other money sinks in SWTOR I am surprised that we do not see more "offers" in chat. I remember seeing quite a few mail messages early on but not recently; being on "dead" server helps too.
  20. I died immediately after a Quick Travel today even though I was (previously) at full health, not in combat and with no debuffs, disease or DoTs -- and i was not on Tatooine. I believe I experienced a "teleporter accident" (to borrow a phrase from Star Trek) because there was another player in the exact same spot I QT'ed to a split-second earlier; I know because I was grouped with him. It was the first time that has happened to me.
  21. You only need to see a crew skill trainer once unless you are buying recipes. Also, when you first arrive on the Fleet, it is worth clicking on each crew skill trainer -- even if you have no intention of learning that skill -- because you will earn several hundred XP (and a codex entry).
  22. As a side note, some crew missions return crafting materials that you might otherwise buy from the (NPC) Crew Skills Merchant but considerably cheaper; at the cost of time, of course.
  23. Last night, I was running a quest on Belsavis (as Republic) where there were multiple groups of a singe "green" cowering prisoner surrounded by several "red" enemies. After defeating the first group of enemies, I clicked on the prisoner out of curiousity to see if they had any one-liners; when I mouseover, I could see they were "interactable." Once I clicked on a prisoner, to my surprise, they stood up, bowed and ran off. I did not see any bonus quest or anything new appear on my HUD so I thought that was just a "nice touch." I then proceeded to clear the rest of the instance and clicked on 4 more prisoners. Looking at my chat log, I noticed I completed a bonus quest -- even though there was nothing in my quest log -- and earned some extra XP. Also, clicking on a 6th prisoner did nothing -- as if the quest was finished. Interestingly, the prisoners did not automatically run when you clear their captors, you have to click on them, and you could click on them before killing all their captors while in stealth; and, possibly, during combat but I did not test that. Anyway, was this a "hidden quest" and, if so, are there more like it? Another possibility is that it was just an oversight/bug not to create a bonus quest entry in the quest log. --- There was a small, narrow valley on Hoth that contained a small herd of nervous Tauntauns surrounded by two feline predators. I hoped that by killing the predators the Tauntauns would escape and I would earn some reward. But, alas, nothing happened and they just stood there.
  24. Considering that Best Buy is struggling to survive, I would consider that a "loss leader" price to get people into the stores -- not how much they value the product.
  25. My tiny guild (4 people) is loving our "private" server. We know we will be forcibly merged -- eventually -- but, for now, it sweet because there is (virtually) no competition on resource harvesting, rare spawns and mobs. Our destination server, The Harbinger, frequently has 10-20 minutes login queues and we get to keep our character and legacy names (for now). We do not PvP, join/form PUGs or run Operations so the only downside is a dead GTN but even that does not really matter since we are self-sufficient crafters. It is quite possible that we will have moved to another MMOG before our SWTOR server is shutdown so even the potential loss of character names is not a significant factor in the decision to migrate.
