  1. All of the crystals actually look different in "real life" versus in the preview screen. It would be nice if we had a better or more natural lighting system in place for previews, for dyes as well as for crystals. Other than that, thanks for warning us
  2. It is amazing what one person can do for morale! Good on ya!
  3. That is awesome! I had a similar game against one of my guildmates that I actually lost, but there was just me on my Slinger against a Shadow at the end. I died with him having literally 10 health left. It was that close. SO MUCH ADRENALINE! I'd rather have 1 of those games than 5 easy wins that are boring, honestly!
  4. I use a mouse sometimes, and other times I don't (I use a trackpad on my laptop). Because of this, I need two sets of keybinds for certain things, to put it nearer to my left hand when using a mouse for example.
  5. I wrote a leveling gear guide a while back explaining the most efficient way I have found to get leveling gear. A few terms before you go in just in case. 1. Orange gear = custom gear = shells: Cosmetic appearances that have orange-colored icons in your inventory. They are initially empty, with no stats whatsoever, but you can "mod" them, meaning you add modifications into them to add stats. These are the best gear pieces for leveling and endgame. All other "green" and "blue" items are not as good typically. There are also "purple" shells, as well as "purple-unmodifiable" items, the former of which are exactly the same as orange shells. The only difference is they usually come pre-modded with "purple" mods, which are the best mods for that level. 2. Modifications: these are the things you put in orange gear shells to give them stats. They come in "green," "blue," and "purple" variety, which are the worst, better, and best qualities, respectively. There are different types of modifications that go in different slots. The biggest confusion is there is a type of modification that is called a "mod," but it is just a specific type. Head, chest, legs, hands, and boots: armoring, mod, enhancement Belt and bracers: armoring and mod only Mainhand and offhand: barrel/hilt/armoring, mod, enhancement, color crystal Here is a rundown of what each modification does for you: Armoring: For armor pieces, it adds armor, your main stat (Cunning, Strength, Aim, WIllpower), and Endurance (1 pt. Endurance = 10 pts. of health). For offhand pieces (like generators, focii etc), it gives a boost to your damage as well as main stat and Endurance Mod: Main stat, Endurance, and either Critical Rating, Power, Defense, or Absorb Enhancement: Endurance, either Critical Rating, Power, Defense, or Absorb, and either Accuracy, Surge, Alacrity, or Shield Rating Barrels/Hilts: For weapons, you either use a barrel or a hilt depending if you are a Tech user (smuggler, agent, trooper, bounty hunter) or a Force user, respectively. This gives Main stat, Endurance, and damage boost. Color crystal: gives either Endurance, Power, Crit, or Expertise (PvP stat, avoid at all cost until level 55). Also determines the color of your lightsaber/blaster bolts. If you are just trying to level as a damage dealer, then go for: Your main stat (Cunning=Smuggler|Agent, Aim=Trooper|Bounty Hunter, Willpower=Consular|Inquisitor, Strength=Knight|Warrior) Endurance (which helps you have more health and stay alive longer) Power (hit harder) Surge (critical hits hit harder, good for most classes) This is just some good basic info to get you started, then you can go about gearing up using the techniques in my guide linked at the top of this post.
  6. Sounds like your alert may be bugged. Try submitting a ticket! Also, you are sure that you have received all of the things you have mailed?
  7. You have to actually use certain items for it to unlock in Collections, just fyi. I think Holostatues are like that as well. For the OP, you may be thinking you have to "use" the certificates to buy an item, but you actually just right click or double click on the item you want, and the certificates will be automatically deducted to be used to pay for it. Other than that, not sure where your confusion might be. More info will help us narrow down the problem.
  8. I bet season one of starfighter PvP "will be coming soon™ after launch"
  9. At 55 you can compare items using the Bolster buff present on the Western Ice Shelf of Ilum, where the Gree event normally is. It allows you to not be worried about a warzone that way.
  10. Couple of things real quick: 1. Are the leaderboards going to be per server or for the whole game. I would recommend per server, because queue times are much longer on say, The Harbinger than the Bastion. 2. It would probably be a good idea to show off a few of the rewards for players so they know what they are going for. If you don't then the problem of incentives shows up again. I really don't want great queues for 2 weeks then absolutely no ranked queues popping like we have now on the Harbinger. Other than that, can't wait! Looks great.
  11. I feel such a rush with three different moments. I'll add to the Huttball enthusiasm, as my favorite moment is one of those. Anytime I fire off the perfect Leg Shot on a firepit in Huttball to kill a carrier. Or my absolute favorite one, I had a Shock Charge on the carrier, then as they were crossing the final fire, I jumped off the platform I was on so I could reach them, and as I was falling got the Incendiary Grenade on them when they crossed the fire. I REALLY wish I had frapsed it, because it was by far the most fluid and impressive thing I have ever done, and I would love to prove it. But things like that get my blood pumping! The second thing that gives me a real rush is when I just know what someone will do against me, and I play against it perfectly. Doesn't happen often, but I love that feeling of knowing that you knew exactly what the other person was going to do, and your wits were better than theirs. Finally, I love super close games, of any kinds. I had an Arena where I was against a guildmate, and while that was annoying, it was super fun! It was just me and an Shadow at the very end, and I got him to literally 10 health (I checked) when he killed me. Such a good game. Anything that is just my mind against someone else's, no class balance or PUGs in the way. That is my favorite thing about PvP.
  12. Hi everyone! I was looking around for a list of the points required for all the Valor Ranks, and I couldn't find one, so I decided to painstakingly inspect as many people as needed to acquire the information. Here is a list of all of the Valor ranks, the points needed to get each one, an analysis of how many points each title requires, and how many warzones you have to play to get to Elite Warlord! http://thefanaticalswordsman.com/2013/11/02/valor-ranks-complete-list/
  13. I was in the solo ranked queue on the Harbinger today for 80 minutes before I gave up and started doing regs again. I would love the system you propose Maniac! I seriously doubt that Bioware would put that much money into PvP though
  14. This happened to me today... http://i.imgur.com/HJ3LBGG.jpg
  15. I would love a scaling buff that allows the occasional skill to be instant. Or lower the cooldown on Bacta Infusion for every time you take damage (with a rate limit of 1.5 seconds). I think the big thing in PvP is lack of mobile healing. There needs to be some work done on that aspect, as in Arenas it is crucial.
  16. It is almost impossible to get that these days as I understand it. It is definitely impossible in PvP, because we simply don't have the stat budget to do that.
  17. Actually, those are less like the A-300 Sonic Needler http://www.torhead.com/item/bCTZ4OQ/a-300-heavy-sonic-needler and more like the War Hero pistols. Because of the scopes. http://tor-fashion.com/2013/04/23/war-hero-field-medics-blaster-pistol/ That one is no longer available, but the Campaign pistols are the same http://tor-fashion.com/2013/04/23/campaign-field-medics-blaster-pistol/ and those are still available from the Classic Vendor.
  18. Gearing for a Gunslinger is pretty much all similar across all three specs. Crit rating was nerfed pretty hard, so it isn't really worth building in, unlike pre-2.0. That would have been the only difference going DF. I think the accepted gearing priority is still Cunning > Power > Accuracy > Surge > Crit But then again, I am not a raider, so I will defer to more PvE-oriented people. I am attempting a ~70% Surge and ~99% Accuracy build with min-maxing for PvP, so we'll see if that is actually good. Also, there is some disagreement on Power vs. Cunning with some people. Since Cunning brings with it Crit, and that is basically our only source of Crit, I prioritize it. Especially if you take Streetwise from the Saboteur tree for an extra 9% Cunning. Hope that helps!
  19. Pshh...I listened to the song of the universe BEFORE it was cool... http://i.imgur.com/ftCeSNp.jpg
  20. It would be great for all of the PvPers if we were given a mailbox along one of the rails in the Combat Training area of the Fleet. Every other section has a mailbox, but the PvPers generally like to hang out in that section. Allow us the same convenience that the PvEers, the Crafters, and the GTN moguls get. A small quality of life thing, but still would be nice. Thank you for your time.
  21. I would recommend dropping queue, spending the point, then hitting "Queue Group" again. They don't have to leave as long as you hit the Queue Group button.
  22. I put this thread in Crew Skills, but it occurred to me it might fit better here. My request is simple. I would love it if the crafting schematics for Partisan, Conqueror, and Obroan gear were put on the vendors (or at least just Conqueror and Obroan). The reasons for this are as follows: Collecting those recipes is fun It provides an incentive to get higher Valor ranks Gives a little prestige to the wearer due to restrictions on Valor ranks Allows players to augment orange versions of shells and allows them to keep the look, since we have to trade the shells in to get higher sets. PvE players are not cursed with this problem. It provides a money sink. Gives PvP crafters something to make Can be phased out, allowing for rarity and makes crafters required for certain looks, something that is always needed. Simply put, I would think it can only be a good thing to add this into the game. Any reasons I left out?
