  1. There is definitely something wrong with it, and hopefully its a bug and not a feature/intended change. I'm pretty sure walking is faster then this vehicle right now, or it could be a perception thing since I'm use to the speeder going 110% rather then whatever speed it's currently going. Update: Speeder Pilot II also has no effect on the vehicle.
  2. Hopefully this is a bug or a unintended change, because the 110% speed was the only reason to get the speeder. Which was originally used as their big incentive to get people to use their RaF program.
  3. Was the Kurtob speeder nerfed? There is no mention of it in the patch notes. I decided to start a new character to check out the new intros, yet the mount isn't going its normal 110% speed (as stated in the tooltip and what was used as a selling feature for it). It seems to be going 90% like the other mounts now
  4. They nerfed the mod vendors too, instead of selling blue mods they now only carry greens.
  5. Prior to the patch my companion was able to hold threat with out problem, but now he can barely hold one enemy.
  6. What PVE has right now for a space game sucks and isn't really much of a game, unless its been changed recently and the rails have been removed.
  7. It would be kind of nice if they added a little variety to the leveling paths. Even if it was something like changing some text for some of the races. Something simple indicating that the race is rare for its chosen profession or how they didn't expect to see something like a Pureblood as a Jedi. Even the Twilik settlement could have varying degrees of reactions towards Twilik jedi wandering into their village for the first time. Sure there will always be the repetitive nature, but adding a little more depth to the planets could help, anything to make leveling new characters, since that seems to be what they want us to do with all the race unlocks, not quite as repetitive.
  8. If it were actually free you might have a point, but 3 months costs $41.97.
  9. No clue if someone had the name or not, I tend to add gj to the end when I make usernames/forum handles. An old habit from an old rpg forums I use to regularly visit, as to Dakkon I am aware of the MTG card, but that is not what inspired the name. I saw the card only after I had already been using the name. When it comes to my in game characters rarely will they use the same name as my username/forum handle.
  10. No, I wouldn't want either of those names. I much prefer coming up with my own names rather then using overly used and unimaginative names. I never resort to using commonly overused names when making new characters for mmorpgs or rpgs in general.
  11. Depends on the name, the name is the first thing we see and in some cases can be the first impression we make to someone. I try not paying attention to players who use names such as XXLukeXX, XXDarthVaderXX, or imapwnu.
  12. While I understand the frustration of losing names due to events outside your control. I also understand names are very important. The names in that link are neither iconic or epic, they are just a bunch of overused and very unimaginative names that you should have expected to lose when moving servers. It does suck to lose a name you have grown accustomed to using, but coming up with something new and original isn't really that difficult.
  13. As much as I despise the whole political correct era, in an environment where you can read and edit what you type. Constantly using profanity when there are better and often times more appropriate words that can be typed out does not make you mature and doesn't really have anything to do with being politically correct. In a text based setting where you can read and edit what you are trying to say, there really is no reason for most forms of profanity. Even games such as Age of Conan and The Secret World have a policy to limit profanity in their chats.
  14. I'm not very fond of Vette, once I was able to I was quick to replace her, she does not fit well with a Sith. She whines way too much, and most of the darkside choices I've found fall under one of her dislikes. Sith are by nature cruel. Thus is the reason why my affection for this companion will forever remain low.
  15. 1. Our game is awesome. People love it and want to play it. The game has its moments and has kept me here with its story though it could be so much better with a little more polish. That being said you went from around 2 million players to 500k players, so something must be up with that. So some people love it and want to play it, some people have played it and hated it now they are gone. 2. The subscription requirement was driving away huge numbers of people who do not want to commit to paying monthly. This isn't the reason at all, I won't attempt to speak for those who left but I do know why the people around me left. They left because the story, as great as it is, gets very predictable, very repetitive, and in some cases doesn't really fit for various classes. The next reason was the game is very linear, each class may have its own class quests, but each character you make does the exact same side quests with very little variations. Having different dialog for each race would have added a little variety. As an example Jedi Twi'lek would likely be treated differently when going into the first Twi'lek settlement in the Jedi starting area. I hate to bring it up but having multiple ways/paths for leveling and ensuring a rich endgame experience is one of the reasons WoW has been as successful as it is. 3. The frequency of our Game Updates was way too slow. People were leaving because we were not releasing new content fast enough to keep up with the pace at which it was being consumed. This is very true. Though had the game started out strong and didn't feel half complete at the start those I know would have been far more willing to wait for content. They don't mind that Blizzard has a "we will release it when it is as ready as it is ever going to be" mentality.
  16. Some bugs are easy to find and fix, some bugs aren't easy to find and fix, and some bugs are easy to find yet still can be quite difficult to fix. This all takes time and patients on everyone's part. Debugging software isn't something that can be done by snapping ones fingers or flipping a switch. The bug could exist anywhere amount the millions of lines of code.
  17. Once you install the software for the Razor Mouse, there is a button at the bottom of the program that will generate the code for you, once it is generated you can redeem the code on your swtor account management page.
  18. There is no us, there is only you. You only speak for yourself. You just listed one type of mmo player, there are many different playstyles, and one of those just happens to enjoy the story of a game more then the gear grind. I think you overestimate the amount of players who pvp. Last time I read, swtor was a pve game not pvp. That being said, mmos will never be balanced around 1 vs 1, they want you to fight as a team. Pve is the heart of most mmos, games that try to focus too much on pvp have failed miserably. (I.E Warhammer)
  19. No they don't, some of these are cool but they don't actually change anything. Most of the provided choices, as far as Sith are concerned, don't fit the mindset of the character. Sith are not nice, nor are they known to work well with others, yet many of the choices portray my sith inquister as either being a sap, a fool, or merciful. We must not be playing the same games, it is much easier to find a group in wow, open up lfd window and click join queue. You don't even need to stand around a city/fleet for an hour. You can actually do something else. There are just as many trolls and jerks in the swtor community as there are in any mmo, there are also plenty of elitists. 20-30 hrs? Really? Each planet is one big roller coaster. Azeroth dwarves most of the areas in swtor in size and content. The problem is this game isn't an alt friendly game, the replay value is minimal, since most of the missions will be the exact same, a few of the options might change, but for the most part race and class don't really make a difference. You don't actually know much about Tera do you? It is more along the lines of DCUO with Aions art style. Aside from having elves and humans, there really isn't much else that is similar to wow. Again you really don't know much about the game you are trying to discuss, only thing GW2 and WOW have in common are they are both fantasy based. You seem to be good at not knowing what you are talking about, then again when it comes to Secret world very little is actually known, they haven't really talked much about it. What we do know has it shaping up to be a very unique mmo in that it will not have classes or levels. Whether that translates to a successful game is still be seen, other games have tried the classless idea before, many of which aren't doing all that well now. Now SWTOR is not a bad game, it has its moments of being quite fun, but none of what you have said here objective or fact, it is just the opinion of one star wars fan.
  20. Since it is in wow it is bad? It is only natural that a company would borrow concepts from other areas with in the genre. Especially when that game, regardless of what the many critics may think, is still on top, 10 million is hard number to ignore. Just because it is in wow doesn't mean it isn't a good/fun feature to have. What you suggested seems like a more tedious version of what is used in pen and paper style rpgs (and ddo subsequently) The only thing, imo, that needs to be changed leveling wise are the talents, they are boring, uncreative, and just seem to be randomly placed in their trees.
  21. It probably has been mentioned but it is possible to join a game already in progress, since the deserter debuff begins counting down right away, then due to the screens that seem to randomly appear at the spawn points and before even getting a chance to enter the fights get booted out. I understand the purpose of the debuff, and it has a good purpose but someone just joining should get some kind of grace period, if you are going to have the screens that prevent players from entering. (after the matches have already started) Either a grace period or while the match is going those screens need to be removed, if you are worried about players getting up there and camping the spawn point make it so players can leave, (again once the match begins) but players can not re-enter or place it out of the range of any one with a leaping ability.
  22. Telling players who are asking for more features or providing any kind of feedback to leave the game is counter productive, and is very destructive to a game that is just starting. Wow was successful because it effectively had something for most play styles, That has been one of the reasons so many other games have failed, they catered too much to a single play style, while ignoring the rest. I am not saying they need to copy wow, they should try and add their own versions of popular features. (While not ignoring why those features are popular) Because in the end that is what will draw more people to the game, and in the end provide the devs with more money to create new content. Perhaps they could improve the lfg tool but provide some kind of incentive to forming groups with the current method. The current lfg tool sucks, spamming in general does not build community, since there is no guild search or finder, you are stuck spamming general and hoping a guild with a decent name is recruiting. (I refuse to join any guild with the name Sith or Darth in it as a republic character)
  23. Games that have tried to remove the trinity turned into a boring zerg fest with little to no challenge. This is because the developers have to design encounters expecting groups to have little to no teamwork, and little to no group healers. CO tried this, people simply would zerg everything, when they died, they would rez and then return to the zerg til the encounters were defeated. There is nothing fun about that.
  24. Except that would make it false advertisement, and mean that they lied to everyone, I highly doubt they are going to risk those kinds of problems. Their press releases state they have 10 million active paying subscribers. Until you can prove those statements otherwise, stating anything else is libel.
  25. This games cs is far from the worst. Cryptic has that honor. They have answered most of my tickets in a reasonable amount of time. I am sure though they are being flooded with complaint tickets, and with it being the holidays (though this is their fault for releasing the game when they did) I am sure they are doing the best they can with what they have. It would be nice if the planets and space were a little more open, and that is something they can (and hopefully will) add in later. The queues, while they are to be expected and have gotten better, are annoying. The instancing of the servers is important. It alleviates having to fight hundreds of other players for quest spawns.
