  1. Just make chars on both sides of the server and check the population in a certain zone, people do that and that is also a reason why even more went Empire. Nobody likes to pvp outnumbered or having too many difficulties finding a group, it's understandable. In most zones imps are usually 2 or 3 to 1 on my server and once was reasonably balanced. IMHO Bioware needs to admit and fix the faction unfair discrepancies ASAP. Players are well informed about the current state, word spreads fast and that's hurting. After that they should think up something to entice people to Republic without actually giving republic any unfair advantage. The general un-coolness of the faction is simply bit overwhelming for most I'm afraid. Just look at armor looks like Power Rangers or the republic fleet station that looks like some Nar Shaddaa shady version of the Empire fleet station, thats not even the Republic normal look nor the way it looks on the loading screen, smells of "we had not time so we mocked up the Empire station and give you that instead". Not good, not good.
  2. TBH some replies are even sillier than the OP and that's saying a lot. I think what the OP meant to say is force classes feel somewhat weaker in this game respect other classes. Example: trooper/bh can run faster, hit harder and has a hook to pull stuff to him whilst a jedi guardian, whos supposed to be all big in the force, cant even do a simple pull let alone run faster. But that has nothing to do about lore.

  4. this stuff has been posted around these forums many times already, some are legitimate bugs, others seem to be just wrong tooltips not sure which is which TBH, but I guess Bioware knows by now, right?
  5. why hating on the samurai look... if the armor only looked anywhere near a samurai look, then it'd look epic, but alas it does not..
  6. Just a old Defias, I remember the name cause not many Italian guilds in that server. For consolation, go look at other class armor sets, most of them are not any better than our set

  8. @OP: left Defias for good man? The internet is small... As for the looks, I can understand something that has no robe at all, remember this is the Old Republic , the look doesnt have to be consistent with the movies which happened much later and this is clearly meant to be a war outfit/proper armor, not a normal day routine dress/robe. So in that way it makes sense, fighting with robes would be silly. That said the armor still looks fairly ugly and mixed, the helmet doesnt match the armor and vice versa. IMHO if the shoulders etc looked more like a proper samurai armor it would be waaaaay cooler, with the proper colors too ofc.
  9. And that's for a tank with armor buff which makes your armor damage reduction way higher than even heavy armor without buff, on medium/light armor players/mobs damage reduction negation has to be close to 0.xx.
  10. Oh yeah, we wouldn't want those PvE noobs to play against us PvP elites without a handicap, would we? Some stuff makes sense and I agree, but other...humm.

He's doing very low damage except when he prepares a force sweep on 3+ targets or against a lowbie, he's sometimes Guard'ed, didnt check if healed, plays focus so he's dps not tank even if in soresu form I personally dont feel a melee should go around relying on force sweep like that, with all the abilities guardians got thats silly, but ofc one uses whatever he got, still meh

Just look at the points of those who say Guardian is fine (usually none, calling names most times and pointing out how LEET they are) and those who says it isn't fine at all (long series of specific reasons said in every possible sauce) in each thread and you got your answer. But Guardians are playable, yes, or no "whiner" would still be around playing his Guardian. And AFAIK no news on any changes. I've read here some say Bioware is aware and they will fix, but I also know JK are this way since the BETA months and received no fix, so why now? No words about it in fact.
  13. yes but usually the trade off of a more complicated class is being overall more powerful than other classes, with more tools etc, JK's arent that, and for all their quirks there's no returns ..and then they "show off" their toon Sweep bombing grouped up lowbies in a WZ, mehhhh
  14. Wow, makes me feel like I suck. I usually do only 20-40k protection, although alone with pugs. edit: uh over 400k healing I see... well, still a good job
  15. You obviously can't compare the survivability of a Guardian to a Commando (or Merc), not even Vanguard... Guardian clearly has the upper hand there, but it usually takes much longer to kill stuff on a Guardian (since when can guardians kill elites faster??), which in turn lowers its survivability a lot.
  16. I can bear it, but sometimes he really sounds overly soft and that annoys me a bit, no big deal anyway.
  17. My server used to be an almost perfect 50-50 and it stayed that way for a good while (about full since before the 20th). It's now as bad as other servers with a population of about 2:1, and 3:1 or worse on a bad day. I wager many reps trying Emp chars simply moved over. There has to be a reason, or many reasons perhaps, for that to happen and I hope someone gives it a good, long thought. This kind of faction imbalances pretty much kill the fun in pvp servers. Attention, I am NOT talking about forcing a faction to players, ABSOLUTELY NOT. It's all about enticement and the impression when you play your character, evidently if republic is doing so bad there has to be a reason, perhaps something that needs to be addressed?
  18. Guardian's snare lasts only 6 seconds, while the Juggernaut snare 9 seconds. I don't need to tell you how important is a snare for a melee do I... and it isnt just a tooltip on torhead, before someone uses that excuse.

This is not the only ability with such unfair differences, there are lower cooldowns on key abilities for other classes too for example (operative if I remember correctly), faster or instant animations and such for other classes on the Empire side, I'm not aware of any discrepancy that favors Republic in any class, just check other classes' forums and they are mentioned all over the place. Many pvpers have already switched to Empire.
  20. @OP: lvl50 in almost complete champion gear, that sure makes a big difference in Warzones where most players aren't even 50, not to mention geared. I'm not dissing the viability/power of the spec and class though, but put things into perspective.
  21. Powertech with rifle? your weapon is your armor spitting rockets fire and whatnot from your left arm, it wouldnt make sense to have rifle which needs both hands to operate
  22. Rusk but I dont get his frigging beam thingy that does like 0 damage and keeps turning on itself...which results in me using Kira atm also cause shes much better geared and seems to do better dps, although at same gear lvls she shouldn't
  23. Sentinels are meant to DPS, thats the only thing they can do so. Guardian dps is viable, well kitted can do some good heavy hits, maybe not very high sustained dps but should be more than viable. There's basically bit of delay for gathering focus and when we have it our best hitters are not the hardest hitters out there atm, but we're OK. And dont take as example 50 geared guardian hitting for 2-4k some lowbie no-expertise in a warzone. People here mostly complain that in Def spec (not what you want) guardians do so little damage it takes very long to kill mobs, too long, kinda making the tradeoff of playing defensive not worth it at all, but an actual handicap (which ofc can be mitigated by a good dps companion but thats not the point) and in FP it's a bit harder to do good threat also for that reason. Still very viable, some love by Bioware wouldnt hurt though.
