  1. The turret fight is very very simple and here's how. Have each member shoot across the middle towards the person across from them.

    For example I will use N, E, S, W

N fires S , S fires N, E to W and W to E, you get sooo much more coverage this way and everyone can see almost the entire field and react. Every 1 has 3 other people watching their back. Try it and save yourselves some headaches.

Alternatively you can aim out and cover more than 90 degrees with the healer in the middle to keep people alive.

If you do this the most important thing to get used to is using your minimap as every enemy is a red dot on there giving you a complete overview of the whole fight.

  2. What i want is for those who actually want to play the game and not just troll, to post the problems that seem to be wide spread through-out the forums and tell BW what they want. How about we stop with the criticism and come together as a community to help the game instead of hurt it. What ever happened to the community?

More specifically, i was trying to point out the simple fact that the problems are there, but i feel that we as a "community" are going about it the wrong way. Simply post what we need to keep this MMO strong.

All well and good, but far too vague.

    "CC"?

Too much? Not enough? Not enough counters? Too high cooldown on CC breakers?

Your post lacks the info to say what you think the problem is and what you think the solution is.

  3. It's been niggling at me for a while...

what's the problem with space combat as it is?

Well yes rail shooter is a problem for me , but more importantly... this is a MMO and space combat is a purely single player game!

make it cooperative or competitive, and we may have something there!

There's nothing wrong with it IMO, if you want a on-the-rails shooter.

But if you want a full free-flight space combat sim, it's severely lacking.

It's all about your own expectations, and how this meets with them.

  4. In fact, another much better example would be blaster bolt deflection.

Bioware significantly lowered the rate of Jedi blaster bolt deflection compared to the movies. Could you imagine if they stayed true to the films?

How would any non-force class compete when a Jedi blocks almost every single shot and deflects them back at the shooter?

Lore was sacrificed to make the game better & more balanced.

  5. This is not true. You always have a one-in-five chance of getting a schematic, regardless of how many time you reverse engineer an item. Successive attempts do not alter these odds in any way. This DOES NOT mean, in any way, shape, or form, that you should have at least one success every five attempts.

20% seems fairly accurate to me. I don't know if this is changed from the previous chance or not, but it does appear to conform to my own successes.

    This.

Each reverse engineer is a unique event. You don't have 20% chance for the first, 40% chance for the second, etc.

It's like tossing a coin, just because it's heads one time doesn;t mean it will be tails the next to give you a perfect 50/50 ratio. The coin doesn't remember that it was heads and land accordingly.

That's not how it works, chance and ratio are not directly related like that.

  6. both fleets suck, after 3 months i dont know anyone who does not have to pull up there maps to go to any location, whoever decided the central location of the game needed to be a circle needs to be shot.

I use my minimap, and which direction my character (the arrow on the map) is facing.

No need to open the map, only 4 sectors to remember (plus interfleet transport).

  7. No.

    10char

I'd far rather keep it p2p instead of f2p with a cash shop (and I certainly have no intention of using a cash shop *and* a subscription).

However if, down the line, the game fails using the p2p model and needs to turn f2p with a cash shop legacy doesn't really effect balance and would be the perfect thing to have in cash shops to avoid it being a requirement to spend loads in order to be competitive.

  8. Gameplay > lore.

Otherwise we may as well include things like perma-death (except for the few Jedi that manage to master the force ghost-type thing).

While the Empire will try to get every force sensitive either into the Sith or dead, it's entirely possible that my bounty hunter or agent managed to hide it. And with no training he's only able to do a couple of abilities.

Not everyone force sensitive comes from force sensitive parents, otherwise how would the first Jedi have come about? Not to mention the whole anti-attachment ethos of the Jedi Order meaning that I doubt many Jedi have children.

  9. Ok so 1.2 is here and I was all set for the armor mods to have the set bonuses attached to them so I can finally take off those shoulder pads you can land a 747 on and that darn dunce hat. Now that it's here....and I wasted several thousand credits trying.....the only armor mods that carry set bonuses are from PVP gear to the new orange PVP gear. So once again all the nice little things go to the PVP crowd and the PVE crowd is left out? Now all of you can troll on about me being a crybaby PVE'er I don't care.....as I am trying to put my PVE mods in the PVP orange gear it seems I also PVP as I have the valor to put the gear on.

As has been announced many times, it's the new armours (War Hero / Campaign).

  10. To anwser youre question;

zero mails, zero things being told, absolutly no info on anything from Bioware.

Except an entire webpage (http://www.swtor.com/legacypromotion) and many posts on the forum (Dev tracker: http://www.swtor.com/community/devtracker.php)?

    :edit:

Problem is, we quote / provide a link to the info from Bioware and you just tell us it's not right. Then you claim they aren't telling us anything because you decided to ignore what they are telling us.

  11. I did pull the mods.

I'm just asking / wondering why they made something so odd looking for a combat game that is played mostly by male persons.

While I accept the majority of Star Wars MMO players are likely to be make, I wonder how many of their characters are.

Though I do agree about the ugly end-game armours. Even pre-1.2 I sacrificed some expertise to wear better looking orange gear with operations dropped 140 armorings, I am really not a fan of the old or new pvp armour models.

  12. The extra 30 days should already be added a few days ago. The time you are talking about is when people may recieve the pet(s).

Follow the link I provided and read it.

The date and time provided relates to the 30 days free. The full quote is as follows:

PLEASE NOTE: If you qualify and have signed up to receive The Old Republic updates by email, you’ll receive an email notification from ‘The Old Republic™ Community’. The 30 days of game time will show up on your account by April 25, 2012, 11:59PM CDT/ April 26, 2012, 4:59AM GMT and will begin once your current game time remaining expires. If the remaining game time on your account expires prior to April 25, 2012, 11:59PM CDT/ April 26, 2012, 4:59AM GMT, you will be unable to login to the game until your 30 days of game time are added to your account.

    :edit:

    Double post :(

  13. Thanks you for youre grammer correction. It is most helpfull.

Youre wrong. Many people in my guild have had already seen added a extra 30 days. So youre remark " you won't see the free time until the time you have already paid for has been used" is incorrect.

"My" remark is a direct quote from here: http://www.swtor.com/legacypromotion

You are aware of what the "by" means in "by April 25, 2012, 11:59PM CDT/ April 26, 2012, 4:59AM GMT", yes?

It means some people will get it before, but everyone should get it then at the latest.

So the fact that you know someone who has it is a completely moot point.

  14. I have not recieved no mails from bioware nor has my account been added with 30 days., Other people have had their 30 days added and some have received ingame pets. So i am either "overlooked" or i miss data. That is the info i based my question upon.

Firstly, you have not received no emails? Double negative?

    Secondly:

The 30 days of game time will show up on your account by April 25, 2012, 11:59PM CDT/ April 26, 2012, 4:59AM GMT and will begin once your current game time remaining expires.

We still have around 6 hours until the deadline, and if you have time paid for you won't see the free time until the time you have already paid for has been used.

  15. Wondering this as well, apologies if it's been answered elsewhere, I haven't been able to dig it up if it has. Do we get it even if we don't have legacy on a certain character yet? Will we get it once Legacy becomes unlocked? I did receive the pet on my character who does have legacy, so I'm just curious.

    Source: http://www.swtor.com/legacypromotion

  16. Dear Mr Bass,

I live in the Netherlands. Its a country where we not to fond of credit cards. Thus i started playing on the release of the game up till now. I have played a total of 50 days and 20 hours. From day 1 i used a timecard of 60 days. Since then i always updated my accountstatus with 60 days. Atm i still have 23 days left and not bad stading like bannend or anything. I have been playing and supporting from the start, have only 1 main character who is fun and i stayed with Bioware through thick and tin.

Why do I not get 30 days free?

I feel i am penalized for not haveing a creditcard. When you are useing a timecard you don't have an unlimited subscribtion like a creditcard.

I would appriciate a responce to this.

    Sincerly,

    Says who?

From what I have seen an active accoun t is the requirement, with either a credit / debit card or a timecard.

Where are you getting your info from?
