Best answer here, and no one even noticed it..... And you are missing the biggest "cost" invested in any game.... your time. Sure, I could afford to probably pay for 3-4 subscriptions for different games, but I sure as heck don't have the time to play all 4. So when I look back on my time in Swtor, do I feel the most cheated of my money, or of my time??? Time that might have been better spent doing, well, anything really... the least of which is playing a better game. OP sets up some argument with some figmental people who are complaining about the sub price, and I believe they are no better than bums at the end of your argument..... I haven't seen anyone complaining about the sub price specifically, but rather if its worth the content. I think you are mistaken when you see people saying "I'm not paying good money for this" or "I'm unsubbing until such and such is fixed" you think they are saying that its alot of money and they won't/can't pay for something they are not getting at least $.50 of value out of each day. What they are saying is they won't WASTE money by spending it on something that is purely voluntary when it could be better spent ANY OTHER WAY. I can afford to run my hose for a couple of hours every day, watering my lawn even though its been raining every day. Doesn't mean I am going to do it, because I don't believe in wastiing money, no matter how small the sum.

#2 is the only rational thing you have managed to say in this thread... your "just reroll" cheerleading is nauseating and pathetic.... you are like the most fanboi of fanbois. EVERYTHING that Bioware has produced as far as content is concerned since release has ENCOURAGED you to stay on ONE server, and reroll alts ad nauseum. After having been the good little lab rat, with 3 50s and a few other high 30s alts.... why the HECK would I ever want to reroll? Been there, done that.... MAYBE I could stomach it if I could level by doing JUST the class quests alone, and skip all the other BS inbetween. Heck, I can't even finish decking out my 50s in PVP gear because ques pop once an hour at primetime IF I am lucky. So yeah, your #2 is really the only sane option for a person who's already run a 50 or two.... and even then I think any person interested in PvP is not going to stick around for much longer (most have already left) unless cross server ques and rated come real soon. And I'm not biting that it's gonna hit on 1.3.... have they even started TESTING rated yet!?!?!?! And cross server is a MUST, no exceptions.

I agree with you on one thing.... enjoyable open world PvP for the most part is a myth, and really only enjoyable for gankers who like to attack you while you are pveing, or roving bands of PKers. What I would like though is larger WZs, where what you do there has a lasting impact on the world in which you play, ala Dark age of Camelot or Warhammer. By the time I got high enough, Ilum was totally dead on my server, so I can't even judge whether it had potential..... but its dead now so obviously it didn't =) Anyways, there is so much wrong with this game and its PvP in general... hoping for some great 20v20 action or higher is just a pipe dream. I think we'd be lucky to get even one new WZ by the end of the year. Whoopee

And reroll where?? Fatman?!?! I rerolled there, and man what a cesspool of juvenile, foul mouthed cretins.... and thats on the Republic side, I don't want to even imagine what Empire is like. Reminds of exactly why I never played WoW for more than a week before quitting in disgust... the community is just TERRIBLE. My RP server was great while it lasted, have 2 50s there and all other slots filled with alts. Pretty decent mature community..... however they obviously all unsubbed or rerolled, with the 30+ min wait time for WZs. I've been unsubbed, just waiting to see if they do anything spectacular before my free time runs out...... I'm not holding my breath tho. Lots of new and interesting games coming out soon

It IS more grindy, you just don't realize that now the grind is for WH, not BM. They replaced one grind for another, and you have obviously fallen for it. GG

And isn't it funny..... his detractors in this thread wouldn't give him props unless he's top 1% trash-talking foaming at the mouth leetdood. he's not god or anything, but I used his advice both in this game and in Rift to do very well..... probably better than he did with his own classes. His advice and clarity is top notch.... I don't really care how he did PERSONALLY, but if his advice is spot-on and he has insights into the game that I had not thought of myself, then he has helped me regardless of his own performance. THAT is why he has alot of respect from me and alot of the people who use his advice and analysis. The similarities between Rift and SWTOR PvP are astounding.... and the WORST one is this...... that rediculous lack of content. Rift has what, 6 warfronts after more than a year live? With very little consistent pvp found outside of those warfronts. Their WZs are bigger (15 v 15 and 40 v 40 i thinK?? ), but after awhile its SO DAMNED BORING. WZs in Rift, just like SWTOR, have little to no impact outside of their own existence, other than grinding you gear. I got my warrior to 36 in Rift and just could not stomach the boredom anymore..... it was bad bad bad and I feel the same way about Swtor now. And thats how SWTOR is now, the maps are boring as hell after doing them for 5 months. There's nothing left but the equipment grind as motivation, and what happens when THATS gone??

Yeah I tried that, had 2 50s on Lard Arderas with numerous other alts, started over on Fatman.... and I just can NOT motivate myself to level yet ANOTHER character, I am totally burnt out and looking for a new game. Maybe if I can move my original characters to a more populated server (along with Cross server PvP ques.... another MUST for me) I would feel happy. As it is, I can't get in consistent WZ ques BORING

Not massive when spread across 150 servers, 3 time "zones" AoC would seem massive with 50,000 players because they only have what, 4 servers left?? Its not about strict numbers, its about POPULATION DENSITY. 4 million people living in S. Dakota...... state seems like a ghost town. 4 million people living in Manhattan..... THATS MASSIVELY MULTI PEOPLED!!! Need mergers and transfers already...... I wanna see what happens to server populations before my free time runs out.... 40 days and counting Bio!!

Except their largest map is seriously broken.... that being ILLUM. And since the WZ maps are really not much more than just Ops, there are what, like 12 Ops to do at lvl 50?? There should be at least 8-9 different WZs, or maybe they FIX ILLUM at least. They need alot more than rated WZs (a laugh), they need more PvP content, cross server ques, and massive class rebalancing. So short answer, NO..... dunno if I will try GW2 but I am definitely betaing Secret World.... oh and Tribes: Ascend..... a cool FPS that is F2P and lots of fun... try it out!!

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt..... and so glad those days are GONE. Seriously, people who truly liked EQ1 were masochists..... others just view those "glory days" through rose-colored glasses of nostalgia and forget all the headaches that went along with that type of "hard-core" gaming (really wasn't all that hardcore, just GRINDY). Remember how after a certain level, you couldn't do ANYTHING solo unless you were a necro or mage? Yeah, I played an EQ cleric back when Epics first came out..... I couldn't solo my way out of a wet paper bag. Remember when you had to meditate your power back to full after ONE kill, and it literally took you 5 minutes to med back to full??? Remember when your raid would wipe... in a Plane.... and it could sometimes take you 30 minutes just to recover? Remember when rare spawns for your epic would literally take 3-4 days to spawn.... and you had to have 5-6 friends rotating playing your character so that no one would steal your spawn? Modern day MMOs leave alot to be desired.... but EQ1 was a disgusting grindfest that I don't miss for one second And as someone above stated... its F2P now.... PLEASE GO ENJOY!!!

How many of those are cancelled but with time remaining??? I cancelled 2 weeks ago but still had 51 days left of time thanks to "free" month. Am I still considered a subscriber because I have time left?? Honestly curious.... and I find that number can't be accurate for today, my server feels so dead compared to 3 months ago

Some would think just getting to the legacy level is enough of an effort...... I mean I'm legacy 16-17..... and don't have anything to show for it other than the extra buffs, which aren't even because of my legacy level but rather the fact I have 3 different classes that finished chapter 2 of their class quests. The legacies themselves are just plain awful.... I mean who really needs an hour less cooldown on their fleet pass?? Who even leaves the fleet any more once they're 50? Legacies were hastily thrown together (obvious), and then thrown on huge price tags for the ones actually worth anything, so that no one grinded them out too fast. What grinds my gears more than anything about the whole legacy thing..... why do all my characters HAVE to be a part of the same legacy?? I wanted a different last name for some of my guys, but no I am stuck with the same one for all.... like my Twi'lek smuggler is somehow related to my human Vanguard??? Its so silly, and so easy for them to allow the ability to make it more customizable.

Server populations are too small.... even the hugely populated servers like Fatman really don't have a huge enough population to support several premades per side, along with several PuGs per side, thus maintaining a healthy balance of both premades and PUGs. I don't understand enough about computers and server loads to know WHY servers seem to be capped so low.... but really the only fix for it that I can see is to implement cross-server WZ ques ASAP. I've unsubbed, but still have like 50 days left..... I'm hoping I get a chance to play cross-server before my time runs out. My sneaking suspicion is that it will be implemented shortly AFTER everyone's free month runs out.... thus attempting to squeeze one more month out of people's pockets. Its sad they have to dangle that carrot like that

Your generalizations are the reason why scoreboards in general are a bad idea. Some of the best players I have seen often have really low scores, ESPECIALLY in WZs like huttball. I've seen people with insanely high healing numbers, and all they really did was throw some HoTs around and AoE heals.... and not even trying to spot heal focused targets on their team. A GOOD healer might be middle of the pack (as far as scoreboard #s)..... but threw some damage out at appropriate times to give that extra spike to finish off an enemy. A good dps isn't one that just spams as many abilities as fast as they can, trying to bust out the biggest AoEs on the most ppl..... they know who to focus and when. Your own statement, "the only real way to tell who they are is to be one of them" followed by "or you could just look at the scoreboard" is a complete contradiction and just shows you have no idea what you are talking about. You are likely one of those people who berates others in chat after a match saying stuff like "LOL you're a marauder, you should be top dps every time" without having any idea what that person was doing that match to actually win the game, and not inflate his scoreboard ego.

No, "LFG BT Hard" is an advertisement.... the socialization occurs when you respond to the person's advert and you guys arrange to hook up, or you see a familiar name and say "hey wussup, I'll join with yas". Haven't you all had conversations in half-filled groups before? I know I have.... and plus you get to feel out who you are grouping with, ask them if they've done it before, etc etc. Besides the fact, a tool is anonymous, you don't know who you are dealing with until you are thrown in a group with them. It's a recipe for disaster, and ultimately leads to instances and Ops getting nerfed so that the randomly thrown together PUG can muddle their way through it. Ultimately, it won't affect me personally..... I have never used a LFG tool for this very reason. But I really feel sorry for a good many people who will sign up on the LFG tool thinking its the answer to all their problems getting groups, and get grouped with all the lazy/antisocial people asking for this tripe.

Guess you missed the "make an LFG channel" that I suggested (which would surely be server-wide)?? Thats alot easier than creating the tool, time better spent elsewhere by devs. So really the tool is to try and make up for lack of population, i.e. the reason why you would be spamming a chat channel for hours on end looking for what you need. Or your lack of a guild, friends, etc.etc.etc. These "tools" just help the most antisocial amongst us find groups and act like tools.... people who can't find groups normally, who for whatever reason can't be arsed to do more than click a button, which I guess is the type of person you guys want in your groups??

I'm not any game's fanboi.... but here is why I don't think GW2 is going to be any good for longer than a couple of months.... no subscriptions. I mean really, after they blow their load (initial box sales) during the first month, what real motivation do they have to keep tweaking and improving their game?? I mean, you can't seriously expect it to be a perfectly balanced masterpiece from day 1, do you? Even taking gear out of the equation.... there's gonna be class balance issues, healing issues, dps issues etc. etc. etc. just like this game or any other mmo has. Granted, I like they have eliminated gear as a unbalancing factor, but you can't seriously expect it to be all candy and roses from there, right?? I feel so burned on all games right now, I'm not buying another until its been out 6 months or so, and I get a chance to play it BEFORE buying it. Buy to play games I have been burned on too, and they have much less motivation to keep the game running well over the long term imo than a subscription based game. BUT, I am sure GW2 will be a blast to play for about 6 months or so... which is probably longer than I am lasting here (I'm not even logged into the game right now and could be... so sad).

I mean really, didn't we use to call a same-server LFG tool the GENERAL CHAT channel? Why not just put in a LFG channel, and not waste any further time on this nonsense? Are people really so lazy and anti-social that they can't type in general chat: "LFM for Esseles, need 2 dps, tank, off-healer" Have we all become so unwilling to communicate with people that you can't reply to this "Hey, I'm dps". Or does this really boil down to wanting a tool that distinguishes between "good" and "bad" players based on their equipment ratings? I.E. if you don't have gear rating=435 (made-up number), you won't be able to que for certain Ops?

Facebook is different, thats narcissisitic people describing in excruciating detail how wonderful it is that their precious Clara Bel just made her first poopy in a toilet, complete with pictures and even a video.... smell-o-vision coming soon I am sure. Why some people feed their lives so willingly into a corporate warehouse of personal information, to be sold to anyone paying, I'll never undestand. This streaming stuff, however, this stuff is important, its about gaming.

Uhhh, I've learned some of my best tricks watching other people's videos and streams, both what to do and what not to do. I don't understand why you feel so threatened by these streams?? Or jelly that no one wants to watch a stream of you?

Max doesn't say it real nicely, but he has a point.... most of your opponents in this vid are just plain awful. All I really saw is how awesome scoundrels can be when no one pays attention to them, ignores them when they get opened on by said scoundrel, and just have obviously bad gear and no clue what they are doing. But I love the quality, and I'd love to see some footage of you against decent opponents. Maybe get out of the premade for a bit??
