  1. An excellent suggestion - Its unfortunate that the anonymity aspect is necessary for this to work - but I absolutely agree that it should be anonymous. /signed
  2. Thanks for the update EM! We appreciate the effort and applaud the proactivity.
  3. hah I've been on both sides of that scenario. Anyway, basically, we get familiar with the*beats* of a given game, and when something changes, we are quick to notice. Especially when it gets us α'ed That's interesting, and I tend to listen more as more people attest to similar experiences. Hope ppl keep posting if they are experiencing a sudden rash of bee-lining to the stealth. Get screenies, get names, take note of the situation, more data!
  4. tl;rfmoea Interesting article! Thanks for posting. Deserves its own discussion in its own thread. General Discussion, maybe? Would love to discuss without taking this thread off-topic. To OP: PVP is largely trial-by-fire; The PVP sub-community is a trial-by-fire environment then naturally. Learn to sort through the flames for gems of knowledge. i.e.: "thx for the loss looser learn to guard swap or just stop Qing..." = "you need to be more proficient at guard-swapping, based on the performance of the top-level PVP tanks". There's another benchmark for you to measure to. Keep trying - get better. There's a saying in nursing that "Nurses Eat Their Young". The experienced vets are very hard on new nurses for a variety of reasons. Doesn't make it right or wrong, it just is. I've likely used this analogy before, but there's a similarity to the frosty PVP environment and the professional nursing environment. You have to have thick skin to survive.
  5. On the contrary, familiarity with maps *as a stealth class* gives the player a huge advantage when playing against stealth classes. (And I know you know this, not trying to be condescending) Running these PVP maps over and over with a stealth class allows you to be able to predict, quite accurately, how to play against stealth classes. For example, if I'm node guarding, say, Hypergates, an internal clock goes off - especially under certain scenarios - and many times a well placed AOE, stealthscan, or KB discovers some poor sap well before contact is expected. Every map has predictable paths and natural vantage points. So I take the OP's account with a grain of salt - more data needed for proper analysis. If he/she is an open minded player they'll figure it out. But outside of that, just remember within 30 m Do Not Depend on your Stealth alone.
  6. Aw man, I thought you were a superstar for sure. Guess you're only a real star.
  7. Hey I like your idea, and I respect the desire to design the look you want for your own comps. Here's a little different perspective though: The design and styling of the gear/outfits received on Yavin are developed to be part of the experience, a concept that holds true throughout the game. The outfits are not styling for style's sake, but are created to contribute to the primary and subtle aspects of the "Yavin (or given game area) experience": Fun, New, Functional, Innovative with at least some nod to Lore, *Local-Specific Look* - Certain outfits are received better than others, but from a design POV one year from now should you see someone running their comp around in the Yavin outfit you'll know exactly when and where it come from and it will evoke an emotional response, for better or worse. Then you get to talk about it, or comment on it, laugh about it, ignore it with contempt w/e you want - its all part of the experience.
  8. This would be awesome - ++forumlove Wook has guild events for fun and prizes throughout the year - one of which is the Tauntaun Racing League. Our last meet was at the Makeb Racing Circuit and took place on the Volcanic Mesa. This map has a perfectly imperfect circular trail with lava traps, bottlle-necks and (at the time) mobs that had to be navigated to avoid being knocked off your mount. Multiple heats with mount-type specific classes + Main Event... We had a ton of fun - got to give away packs and pet codes that had been sandbagged from some recent cantina event, or w/e. We had our eye on the Oricon Circuit next, but as new content came out we have yet to revisit the idea.
  9. Getting new species from time to time is exciting, but it seems more appealing to have more content to do with fewer species than the inverse. Log in to do the same thing with a different species? Nah- Please send my money to the new content dept.
  10. After the Anaheim Cantina event we have more information to fill in: The Stronghold mentioned shall be on Yavin IV - which is really cool because I want to see more of that legendary planet. And Ziost is now confirmed to be ground zero for the next conflagration of galactic events; the emperor has revealed himself here in this Imperial stronghold - love the focus on story as well! From what I have heard at the recent cantina event about the level of consideration given to players' ideas and suggestions I'm not surprised that the 2015 road map was brief. I'm assuming "under promise - over deliver" is at play. At this stage of the life cycle of SWTOR, I can't stress enough how important community building tools are to player retention.
  11. Not to be contrary, but it still seems cool, even though we pay 5k credits for it. Just have to dip into your little Jedi's college fund a bit...
  12. From the title of this thread I thought I'd be reading a different complaint. But it sounds like the primary gripe is about the current structure of the pay-for-service. Personally, outside of a few very minor issues, i like the current system. It's balanced to value and system propagation.
  13. Alright - let's try some RP You're walking on Balmorra and you're fertilizing flora Di-RP-a Di-RP-a When hunting down on Quesh you start feeling not so fresh Di-RP-a Di-RP-a You visit Tatooine and feel that sphincter sting Di-RP-a Di-RP-a When chillin' down on Hoth and your a_nus is a-froth Di-RP-a Di-RP-a When turning in a mission and your panties start a-squishin' Di-RP-a Di-RP-a #getkleent
  14. RPlease. Cows and horses are the mythological creatures that Krayt Dragons dream about. #getlernt
  15. <3 hi guys just stopping by to wish you all Happy Mond- HEYYYYYYYYYYY!
  16. Woops! We meant to say OPEN recruiting is on hold. We are still accepting apps, those with guild member references/sponsors will be accepted immediately. Need to slow that roll a bit.
  17. Wook hasn't suffered any loss of interest, mainly because Conquest has brought the guild together in yet another way. I personally have not heard one single person gripe about Conquest yet. GC is just something else to do, really. Its helped people expand their horizons a bit more as well. More participation in crafting / mats gathering, more GSF, more PVP, more gear for alts, etc. L_S and Burtlebe are right on point with regards to the "first-place" guilds, for lack of a better term. Looking at this last week: Clash In Hyperspace, Wook finished with 7.2 mil against 2nd place Midnight Company's 4.5 mil. Wook certainly didn't need the extra ~3 mil, that total is the result of members doing as much or a little as desired. MC made a 0-hour jump that made us take note and get the ball rolling, but I think about half way through the week they made a calculated decision to quit competing in earnest, and 7.2 mil was what we coasted to as a result of both the initial effort and members getting minimums on multiple toons. Yes and yes. I've had fun, my guild members have had fun... anything that we get to do as a guild is fun because we have a good time and enjoy each other's company. Getting titles and rewards for guild members, alts, friendly guilds... and I don't know the answer to your last question.
  18. Wow that looks really good man - if we're going to have trophy palaces to get our 100% we may as use some style and innovative design in the process. Good stuff!
  19. What do you call the person who graduated last in class at Law School? "District Attorney"
  20. Good troll, (honestly) but Dunning-Kruger goes waaay beyond the bounds of competitive game play. There are certainly cognitive biases at work - that's just our nature. All of us, subject and commentator alike. Even this very thread is not real analysis, its catharsis. (Mostly.)
  21. Heck make it 40+ PVE zerg! Now I know why you guys were all puffed up when I got there. I saw a few flagged when I came to turn in dailies, flagged up to play around a bit and got curbstomped. Respawned into flyby DFA a couple of times and realized the mood wasn't conducive to sport. Funk that- Its too bad that PVP and PVE are segregated by gear... guess that's a different thread though.
  22. You must be one of the guys that showed me how to sneak into the backside of Section X that day. I logged in after the fun was over, but I do know that you ran into a group of Wooks returning from a Dreadtooth kill. In PVE gear. A small handful of which even PVP. AND you didn't give the whole story, didja? Didjaaa?
  23. Don't sweat that stuff Klaw- Plus I only brought my 2-B extinguisher to class today.
  24. Just that the Wook state of affairs is... sad. I mean, there are a number of things that I disagree with in your statement, but I don't think you issued it as an insult, and its an outside perspective to boot - not worth creating drama - sorry guys, no Swtor Days of Our Lives today. But you'll see me get defensive on behalf of the guild at times because we have an outstanding group of talented players that put accomplishment and renown behind having fun and being part of a community.
