  1. Far too little, far too late, built atop a broken foundation. You've permanently lost me in another month's time, and nothing will ever change this again. Said it before, I'll say it one last time: Thanks for nothing.
  2. They lied. Again. That's what they do. That's all they do. That's all they know how to do.
  3. I really don't understand how anyone could seriously believe that there is any compromise to be made with this un-mitigatedly predatory system, and its un-mitigated **** implementation. There are no compromises to be brooked or made here, this unmitigated **** needs reversion, back to the system that we had since 2.0 that worked just fine -- it only needed a little adjustment so the Basic comms didn't rain on you the way they were by late 3.xx, and/or more things to buy with same. (Just as an aside: Why did the Basic Commendations Crafting Schematics vendors just kinda up and vanish one night, anyway?) PvP-wise, the gear-gap had essentially been eliminated, just some standards to be made explicit, and then enforced (which they'd finally started doing, if memory serves). Bar that, un-sub + /un-install. They won't acknowledge anything else, so why keep eating this **** from these incompetents and rationalising it by saying, "Well, this sucks a whole bowl full of balls, but at least it doesn't suck a whole truck full of balls...We should beg them to dial it back so it just sucks a small tea-coaster worth of balls! We should then remember to thank them profusely for giving us such a tasty, five-star calibre snack! And if you don't like it, then you're just a hateful hating hater! You...you...hater, you!" Not. ***********. Good. Enough. Not even close. (I've seen mobile-games do this better, for Gods' sakes.) Stop enabling these people, and demand better for your money.
  4. I'd be all over crafting all this stuff (less the set-armourings, obviously) both for own-use and to sell a little on the side, and no worries... ...If Cybertech and or BioChem schematics ever EVER Dropped from these worthless garbage-boxes. I know, I know...RNG is R, but after 180+ levels total on three characters, I have (as far as I know) damned near every Artifice, ArmsTech, ArmourTech, and Synth-weaving schematic up to ilvl234 and below. On the other hand, exactly one of the professions I need, which is an ilvl 228 earpiece of no use to a damager or damager/healer hybrid class that I main (Merc, if it matters. Because Absorb and Defense are obviously the stats you stack for those!). I never again can, and never again will trust anything these people say, so I'll just call it now: This is intended, isn't it.
  5. Last time, they had the Craptel Market to fall back on (which I'm pretty sure was the plan all along, the launch/early 1.xx débacle simply moved the time-table up a bit), and the guarantee that people will buy dog**** for whatever price you name if it has the StarWars logo on it. This time....well, they once said that there would never be pay to win in the cash shop, but we should now know all too well what promises from BioWare are actually worth, so...Yeah. Either pay to win, or official announcement of maintenance-mode sooner than Soon, I strongly suspect.
  6. So totally ^that^ it's not even funny. And we're watching it prove itself this game's undoing. As we all secretly knew it would be. The joke that is BioWare post-2010 would be comical if it weren't so sad and just pitiful.
  7. Oh Christ, it's the second coming of Alrik Fassbauer (or however the Hell it's spelt)... Dog help us all
  8. This game is very obviously in maintenance mode, just enough going to keep milking cash out of whales and keep subs signed on hoping for something, anything to improve. But more and more people --whales not least of all, like they actually mean anything long-term-- see the reality and leave. I'm almost certain by now that this is intentional. Otherwise, the level of sheer incompetence it shows surely wouldn't have gone un-punished for long. Even by a joke like EA...I hope? E: SW: tOR is basically a joke now.
  9. I want a rich, comprehensive, ultra-deep foundation for rich, complex role-play. By "role-play" I don't necessarily mean, like, "gather with others at the cantina and speak in-character/-universe" but a way to build and be the character I see myself being if I lived in the SW universe, and how he would develop, what he would become, and how he would use these things in-universe. The difference between being The Adventurer/Hero and being an adventurer, with the potential to be a hero being entirely up to you. You know, depth and player-agency, in a virtual universe. What SW: G supposedly gave (never got around to playing it when it was live...One of my great gamer-regrets), despite its flaws and problems, what EVE-Online definitely gives me still to this day, almost 10 years later. In other words, everything this blatantly railroaded, generic, quest-hub-to-quest-hub corridor-adventure isn't. The explicitly quest-driven theme-park model has had its time, I think --I hope, I pray-- that the rise of V/R will finally put paid to it. As well, I think it's safe to assume that we cannot look to the Blizzards/BioWares/EAs/UbiSofts/NCSofts/[insert AAA parasite of your choice] for this...MMOs are going to have to go back underground again, become the realm of nerds like us again, who know how to appreciate them, and why we should. What we've got left here, thanks to...you know, that guy...is now just a bloated, hilariously jumped-up mobile/tablet-game that serves as window-dressing for a cash-shop. This is not even close to a proper MMORPG anymore. The initial impetus may have been BW: A's fault, but: It's also our fault for not holding them --harshly, and without sympathy; Why should we be sympathetic, we pay them for this!-- to account for their 100% self-inflicted failures due to almost comical levels of arrogance, hubris, and egregious incompetence. Maybe more of us should have got ourselves forum-bans for violating the tenets of the Sacred and Holy Church of BioWare Positivity instead of buying those asinine gambling bags, back when it counted?
  10. It's how it's always been. they have NEVER listened to anything the playerbase said, even before launch. They always know better. Just ask them, I;m sure they'll tell you. At this rate, they'll keep telling you, even from the dole-queue.
  11. Still doing it, as of this latest patch. You never know if/when/how often it will happen, IE, it's random... isn't this just so Exciting Isn't it just the most Thrilling possibility ever? E: 6th attempt, I had her down to like 12%, and she reset again. (The first five [sTORY] difficulty uprisings are easy enough to solo as a Merc if you're 228/230 geared, have at least rank 35 companion, and aren't drunk/asleep at the keyboard...But hey, looks like I just got one less Choice Tthat Matters in how I can play the game as opposed to slaving to the RNG lords.) Seriously about to uninstall right now, God, this game is just a complete turd since 4.0. E2: Oh, and it would seem that melée healing companions have decided to stop healing and just melée whatever it is beating on you, drawing aggro to themselves, and eventually getting murdered. No amount of micromanagement, taunting, DPS-full-burning...NOTHING does anything anymore. So say goodbye to any challenging solo PvE (tactical FPs, uprisings, the last real [HEROIC] mission on Oricon, maybe even some of the easier HM FPs if you're geared enough) and all that time you put in grinding up the influence, you're just going ti have to try and get a group on half the servers being ghost-towns and pray --Excitedly, I'm sure-- that that there's someone, anyone, left who actually knows how to play. Done. That's it.
  12. That Kool-Aid sure tastes awesome, doesn't it. Oh, and your opinion =/= objective fact, so get over yourself and stop haranguing us with this condescending, sanctimonious crap. We've heard it all before from defenders long before you. I told you before, Ben: A lot of us are sick of your un-ending lies, self-deluded arrogance, shameless money-grubbing, and patently transparent attempts at manipulation. We don't want to hear it any ********ned more.
  13. It'll be good to have 55+ Gb on my SSD free again for software that's actually worth my money. Not to mention also free of God-only-knows-what mal-/spy-/adware EA bundles into their bloatware nowadays. Thanks for nothing.
  14. Quite right, quite right. Which is precisely what I've done, just got some bit of time left. The way this is going though, I wonder if TOR will even make it to 6.0? Unless the intention is to actually crater this game, then heads need to roll in Austin, like, soon. And that's all I've got to say about that, because explicitly criticising the Saintly and Noble Church of BioWare can, once again, get one banned around here. Five years, at least two community managers, who knows how many devs/teams, and it's all too clear that they've learned nothing.
  15. OK, this is just becoming so perfectly ridiculous. How can anyone in good conscience still defend this worthless pile of garbage of a system? No, dead-serious now: How?
  16. Already done, bru, thank you: In 40-ish days, this second-rate company's bloatware will never pollute my SSD again. Yeah, I got a little emotional there --something I usually take pains to avoid doing-- but if I may say so myself, that's a point in my favour: It means I actually still give a ****. And who is this nebulous mass of people "enjoying the game"? And what is left of it that they are enjoying, exactly? I freely grant that this is anecdotal, but no-one --no-one-- I've talked to in-game (see, I actually spend more time playing than I do forum-PvPing, and despite a large-part "lone-wolf" playstyle exacerbated by RL misanthropy, I'm actually not socially-retareded--I even like challenging group-content, if you can imagine that! You know, like we're supposed to have in an MMORPG?) has anything good to say about this piece of **** system or the 2 years long content drought. No-one. Casual/semi-casual/NiM raider, PvPer, PvEer GSF pilot (yes, there are still a few of those!). No-one. And the Austin Incompetents' Club has just proven more conclusively than ever that they openly ignore customer feedback. This is going no-where good, and at this rate, this game will die within a year, maximum. It seems like they're Hell-bent on this, even at that cost, so why not let it go out on a relative high note? Oh, and I got news for you defenders: They don't give a crap about your feedback either. Please grow a pair and salvage your dignity again, the white-knighting has just gotten so gratingly stale and pathetic.
  17. I didn't want to say it. I didn't even want to think it, for it genuinely pained me to do so. But there's just no two ways around it. Just like with NGE-era SW: G and its inevitable swirl down the spout: Shut this game down already. Let it die with some dignity, end this misery, I'm not having any fun here anymore, no-one's having any fun here anymore. Do the honourable thing and just let it go out on something other than the lowest note possible.
  18. The only sliver of hope they may have for keeping their jobs is the fact that you really can stick a StarWars logo on a piece of dog****, and there is a subset of people who will buy it "because it's StarWars." But see, you have to get people de-sensitised to that smell, and you don't do that by suddenly adding a whole bunch more dog****, because that just causes the smell to come back, which forcibly reminds people, that yes, it may have a SW logo on it, but it's still dog**** that they let themselves be conned into paying for/putting time into. This will make the now re-sensitised people mad, and they'll stop buying your dog****, which just won't do. (I mean come on: Did these people all fail Marketing to the Mediocre 101 or something?) That smell, it just keeps getting worse....I wonder what could be causing it [/cynicism]
  19. Too much text-speak, didn't read. Try using actual words if you expect to be taken seriously.
  20. Yeah. What's left to say? I'm done. E: [Removed for possible violation of the tenets of The Church of BioWare Postivity]
  21. Oh for the love of... Stop posting. Just stop. At least until you've learned what "false equivalence" and/or "straw-man" mean: Since when did they need anything new? They needed nothing, that's the whole point. I have no idea what Tracer Missile --in whichever flavour-- has to do with this, seeing as how we're talking about the other DPS spec' for Mercs. Back on-topic, find another thread to hijack now.
  22. That's the mantra of this whole damned game anymore: Half-baked changes that no-one asked for, that fix problems that don't exist, done in such a way that only causes more problems. Example: I've dusted off my Innovative Ordinance Mercs after long disuse --IE, since they were still called Pyrotechs. And every time I do my rotation, I see that stupid "Serrated Shot" ability that: Wasn't there before That the spec absolutely didn't need That puts a huge rhythm-hole and resource-drain in the rotation if mis-used Adds to the button-bloat of a spec that already was starting to have trouble with this And is a whole different DoT-damage type (Bleed/internal vs. Fire/Elemental). It was introduced in 3.0, and I wonder ever since, "Why does this ability even exist? We didn't ask for it." Just one very small example of far, far too many, and often much bigger.
