o7 all,
Apologies in advance if this is the wrong forum, and if these questions are already answered (my Search-fu is weak today; I'd rather just log in and play ), but here goes:
So I've soloe'd my way up to 50 on a Smug/Slinger (I just love this class and build; DAKKA-DAKKA!!) --current kit-out, here-- aaaaand, well...I'm feeling all newb-ish again, and have some questions.
Flashpoints:
Upon completing the class-storyline on Corellia, and doing the solo-able dailies on Ilum, my "story" has a component that requires completing a [HARD] mode flashpoint. I want to do the Battle of Ilum, killing two birds with one Charged Burst, but there's something about PUGs that just leaves me cold. And I'd genuinely feel bad if my newb-ness got the group "urp'ed" too.
Is PUG the way to go for this? Or should I do some of the lower-level FPs in one first (I could use the social-points regardless)? Which ones should I do, and is [HARD] mode advisable for those for an FP-newb (to get the aforesaid story-mission "Introduction to Group-Finder" out of the way.)?
(I have a whole pile of specific to FP questions, but forum-searching is working quite well for that. If anyone has advice, though, then feel free to chime in.)
Gear:
My research has shown me that the Tionese gear isn't really all that great --is it realistically possible to get better gear through solo PvE, or should I upgrade/augment what I have? What changes should I make to what I have, if it's worth keeping? (Maybe I'll give it to Risha )
Guilds:
Yup. I'm possibly looking for a guild --mature players (age 30+ preferred), mix of PvE and PvP ideally, with voice-comms. Anyone "hiring?" PM Tellurian on Harbinger server if so.
PvP:
Is there any realistically feasible option for solo "open-roaming" PvP in this game (I'm an old EVE-Online/sandbox player, that's what I love and am used to --SWTOR is my first theme-park)?
Will my Tionese gear be of any use in PvP either as-delivered, or upgraded? What should I upgrade to, if not? I notice that the PvP gear all has a huge buff to Strength, but that's not really a 'Slinger thing, is it? Or am I missing something here.
That's all I can think of for now, though I'm sure more will come up.
Thanks, all.
