  1. What? I said that it's excellent as a Carnage Mara while it's not really worth using as Annihilation. That's one spec with which you should rarely ever use it, not the other way around. Carnage = Very good Rage = good/decent but situational Annihilation = kinda bad, VERY situational
  2. I get your point. Our opinions just greatly differ on that one as I really believe that the difficulty of something isn't subjective - a real life example: I'm having an easy time with algebra, does that mean that it's not a difficult subject? I don't think so. Everyone is good at something else but again, this has nothing to do with the generic difficulty level at all. Well, that was enough off-topic. I guess we can agree to disagree (;
  3. If you really think a well timed Ravage is bad, then maybe you are bad (?). Gosh, I hate it when people think they know what they're talking about when they clearly don't. Ravage is an excellent filler especially in combination with Carnage (from reading some posts here, the majority doesn't even seem to know that). Only as an Annihilation Mara you should rarely ever use it. The problem is just that 99% use it completely wrong which leads to people thinking, that it's bad.
  4. No, of course not. But the general difficulty and being good at something in particular are two different things. What I'm trying to say is, even if you have an easier time adapting to the playstyle of Annihilation, it has nothing to do with the overall difficulty of playing the spec to its fullest.
  5. Ehm, no.. it's not really opinion-based. It is simply harder to play Annihilation to its fullest potential, period. It is THE most focus intensive spec and you really have to constantly keep an eye on 4 short term cooldowns - if you don't use them the moment they're up, you're already not doing it optimally. While playing Carnage all you have to do is managing Gore to boost your upcoming attacks and further in combination with Blood Frenzy -> Force Scream. Rage... learn how to land most of your Smashes and be more careful to time your Charge correctly, that's pretty much it. No offense (seriously), but if you think Annihilation is easier than one of the other two, something's wrong.
  6. And why is that? It's easily the best spec for group utility, single target sustained damage and probably the only spec in the entire game which lets you kill a capable healer with similar gear without any help. Apart from that it's way harder to master Annihilation than Carnage - and don't make me start on Rage.
  7. You're not actually trying to say that all classes are equally difficult to play in WoW? WoW has one of the hugest skillgaps between certain classes in the history of MMORPGs. We're talking competitive PvP obviously, because in PvE it's more about communication, knowledge and adapting to the situation, rather than really being good at a class. And yeah, there's nothing to argue if you think a DK has ever been even closely as difficult as a Rogue or Hunter for example. I could easily divide all classes or specs into the three categories easy, medium and hard to play/master. Apart from that... top 10 server doesn't really prove your point.
  8. In that case she actually asks you which path she should take - so you'd have the free choice.
  9. That's exactly the sort of nonsense that leads to players picking the wrong class because they believe what they read. I still don't know how anyone can think that Juggs have more survivability then Maras when that's obviously not the case. To answer the OPs question: If you solo queue most of the time, Mara is by far the safer bet. But even in premades Juggs are inferior imo, with the exception of Huttball. As a Mara/Sent you can offer more sustained damage, mobility, utility and ultimately more survivability - unless you want to go for an Immortal Juggernaut.
  10. Wrong. Solely your own alignment determines hers - I have tried this with my Jugg and Marauder. If your light-side alignment is too high, you simply don't get the necessary dialog options to turn her. Sure, there's no official statement but I could immediately turn her with my dark side Mara but failed to do so with my light-sided Jugg (and I resetted the conversations multiple times to try out all the different choices).
  11. It's utterly impossible to equalize the difficulty of all classes - there has never been and there will never be a noteworthy MMORPG that manages to offer that sort of balance. Apart from that I can understand the general frustration but if you think playing a Marauder/Sentinel pre-50 is frustrating, then try a Jugg for a change. That's some real frustration. Just learn to use your cooldowns wisely (f.e. a common mistake that you see VERY often would be, that the majority uses Force Camouflage only when they're low on health as an escape tool - which most of the time doesn't work against decent players) and pick the right fights. Well... Huttball is a REAL pain for Marauders but otherwise it's not as bad as many claim it to be.
  12. That's so not true unless you're an Immortal Jugg. And even then, Marauders/Sents have a 4 second vanish on a pretty short cd, a 20% damage reduction for 30 seconds (which is huge) and ofc Undying Rage which makes them practically invincible for 5 seconds. Idk where and how a Jugg/Guardian is supposed to be more forgiving. To answer the OPs question: Marauder is the much safer bet at the moment, Juggs are kinda lackluster right now.
  13. What did you expect? Perfectly balanced PvP from the getgo? Despite some bad CC mechanics and some classes/specs being generally at a disadvantage, it's actually quite decent for now. Sure, it's not competitive at all but for that it has to be balanced first and that takes some time - was it Ok that Vanilla rogues could kill you in 2-3 seconds or that a Ret could RNG oneshot you? No, but PvP was still fun and after some (well, quite some) time the game was fairly balanced and thus competitve PvP was an option. Now I doubt that it will take anywhere near this long for ToR, so people just need to learn to show some patience. I don't really feel like commenting on the movie by the way.
  14. Nice try at being a know-it-all but get your facts straight next time.
  15. Well, depends how you see it. The PvP right now is very unchallenging, so ignoring something like accuracy won't really punish you but a good player would never take that chance in competitive PvP. Hell, I don't even want to take it as it stands right now. Ignoring accuracy can AND will lose you fights and that's a fact.
  16. Right on the 5%, wrong on him being right to an extent. You need 5% (at least by a snatch) accuracy - so I don't see under which circumstances accuracy could ever be useless. It's like saying Hit Rating in WoW is worthless.. ok, maybe not so extreme but still.
  17. How about you try to read and reflect what you read next time? He never said that BS is bad for Focus, he just said that it's not synergizing very well with the way he setup his gear. Why use BS when it has almost no chance to crit at all? You could have spared yourself this wall of text. BTT: Very good and informative guide.. even though Focus is boring as hell *g
  18. Well, with the exception that the hunter has a very high skill cap in most MMOs while even a monkey can successfully play a Merc - but this guy apparently didn't have the intelligence of one.
  19. I guess you feel kinda dumb for saying this now, huh? ;o Sorry for necro-ing but that just needed to be said.
