  1. I read the OPs title, his points ring hollow and wreaks of lazy tendencies. To be blunt, yes the changes were enough, and imo -- more than enough. Pre 1.2, maybe MAYBE entertaining the idea that certain medal farming was difficult against premades, but now, medals are thrown at you even when you're getting your collecive asses kicked. The only complaint you should have it towards your own team for grabbing their ankles.
  2. SP crits for around 2.5+-ish (seen 3ks) with full BM we can achieve with talents around 40% crit, so let's say for the sake of argument that it crits non-stop --- Do you have any idea of the state of burst dmg in WZs post 1.2? Do you realize how easy it is to 2v1 a healer and cause the Medic/SB to blow his shield, remain alive for about 1 more GCD (thanks shield), all the while spamming SP to no avail? As a IA Medic, I keep my eye close on my Escape CD because that's our only real defense and even then, it removes us from the fight for about 20-30 seconds (heal up and run back in). Basically Escape is an FU/denied to the opponent trying to score a kill and makes us end the WZ with one less death, but in terms of helping keep an objective, it's less than ideal. I don't get why you're butthurt about an ability that's a drop in the bucket when considering burst nowadays? Because it's free? Guess what, I spam it, it buys who I'm spamming it on a few more GCDs (if they're lucky or smart and LOS the dps and not me), and soon after typically they take a dirt nap. TL:DR Even though SP is free when less than 30% HP, it does little to save a target considering the burst in PvP since 1.2.
  3. You do realize the OPS who do those kind of numbers are one trick ponies who have to stack every buff known, choose the juiciest target, and can do that once every few minutes.
  4. PvPers wither max expertise are going down faster than a bucket of chicken at Oprah's...
  5. I think BW realizes they can't keep the state of PvP the way it is.
  6. Absolutely. Why? Because there isn't random PvP gear drops anymore. It's straight up buy your gear, which means even if you lose, win, or get reduced commendations you still know exactly how much you need for your next piece. Would you rather have commendations rain down and not get the piece you want based on RNG? ::edit:: FWIW, I don't support PvP gear grinding, it is what it is, but this way is better than pre1.2 imo. It's a social RPG, the point is to band together to achieve the rewards. Of course you can fly solo but with it should come the understanding that nothing is very possibly what you'll end up with.
  7. Huh? What? All you literally have to do is heal near an objective and watch the medals fly. Throw in a few globals for some auto-attack and spray some enemies for even more medals. 90% dedicated to healing in WZs and I finish with 9+ medals.
  8. TBH, the game took a step in the right direction with 1.2. It still fails miserably for world pvp, unless players supprt this and organize skirmishes (battle royals) themselves. It's still a farcry from a dynamic PvP environment, but where's the surprise? If you canceled because of 1.2, I'd say at this stage of the game, you're just crying for attention. SWTOR was never meant to be PvP centric, a fact we all knew before early start began.
  9. Chasing the FOTM rainbow will never yield satisfaction over the long term. You have to realize that every class, EVERY CLASS, has weaknesses that are exposed only if you pay attention to their playstyle and CD execution. Reroll to Mara/Sent and I bet you will be right back here complaining about Snipers/GS needing a nerf.
  10. Put the only PvP mission terminal at the Outlaw's Den for both factions. Then you can PvP to get a mission to PvP in a WZ -- merging world PvP and instanced. Getting a group 'premade' to roll up and fight for the mission, then Q for the WZ to smash faces in there. Sitting at the fleet, Qing for the same WZ over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over again wore thin about 2 months ago. The way things are -- it seems like you're at a carnival, and you've ridden the best rides a bunch of times, and you want to go and try something else/somewhere else, but you're kept being told that the rides are still fun when they're not.
  11. Reasons I like/love my OP healer. - Chis playable as a race - Blue does mean better - Insta casts - Orbital Strike (discounting this skill is not recommended for PvE and PvP) - Great burst healing - Escape - A challenge to execute - The Tactical Adv laugh proc (sadly it looks like 1.2 will remove this) - Can be an effective offensive healer - Much much more It seems to me that with the nerfs being thrown to mercs and sorcs, IA Meds/mirrors are being looked at as a flavor of the month because of the buffs the class is receiving. Do not for a second believe that sorcs or mercs will fall into obscrurity, the playing field has been leveled more in 1.2 in terms of the 'best' aka 'op' healer. Fact of the matter was that pre 1.2 all healing classes could heal Nightmare content, it's just IA Medics had a much more difficult time achieving similar performance when compared to the other classes. On to 'IMO' -- IA Medics are fun as hell. I especially enjoy PvP with PvE being quite a challenge. Ever run HM/NM with 2 IAs healing? Yeaaaaahhhh. 1.2 seems to be addressing some of our most glaring short comings, but ignoring our need for another utility skill. Just 1 more is all we really need, but even without we still can be more than capable in just about any situation. One last thing - pertains mainly to PvP and maybe HM PvE Ops (not so much Nightmare Mode). As an IA you can do decent dmg. Explosive Bomb (I think that's the name) and Orbital Strike provide serious damage. Explosive probe crits BM players in Wzs for the 2.5k dmg medal without adrenalins/buffs. Orbital strike does the same only to more players. Placing an Orbital strike on a Voidstar door as the enemies clump up to defuse a bomb or wait for theirs to blow up decimates. Also it does good enough dmg to throw on a boss when energy capped/tank is topped off. For the life of me, I still can't understand why our shield probe cannot be put on other players like the sorc bubble. It has a longer CD, absorbs less dmg, and still remains only applicable to IAs. Boggles the mind...
  12. To the OP: It sounds like a combination of things that are keeping you down. First you gotta love your class, if you are waiting for a WZ Q, staring at your class and not feeling pumped and ready to take on the world, you're going to play like *****. Regardless of having a bad random pug WZ, we all have bad ones, but the goods should far outweigh the bads based on you making a difference. I feel as though I can make a difference in 90% of the WZ I play in. Some you just get rolled and take as many medals as you can and screw winning. Just the breaks. Next, Sharp spec has incredible single burst. I do quite the opposite from what you described. If I'm at 30% of less at life and I get jumped, I often take them down to near death or straight up kill them before they kill me. It should be noted, Sharp spec, with the cover requirement, this spec is VERY placement specific. If you set up shop and make sure it's a good place, with natural cover if available AND exterior cover. Watch videos. They help. If you're really serious, make a video of your own WZs and critique your moves, seeing what you shoul have done under certain circumstances. I can stress enough, Sharpshooter spec is highly dependent on choosing where you set up shop. There's a reason this spec rewards hit and run playstyles. You have a free charged burst every 6 seconds along with dmg absorbs. I'll give you a couple of examples of why I love my GS. In Voidstar, at the norotious get-knocked-off bridge after the first door is down. I plant myself in the middle of the bridge, pop hunker down, laugh at all the bads trying to knock me off, then I pulse and watch 2-3 of them fly off to their deaths. Huttball, when I'm on the catwalk in front of the fire, a marauder comes running in wildly, I kick him (stun), position myself, and pulse him into the fire. Fresh BBQed mara anyone? Bonus points for them saving me the kick stun and positioning themselves for a quick BBQ. Line up your relics, stat boost biochem, WZ expertise buff for serious dmg, and choose your targets carefully. If you see an enemy trying to run away with a little bit of health, pop them with quick draw. Don't know what else to say, this class is a blast (pun intended). I'm 47 and look forward to the challenges of L50 ranked WZs. Remember we are getting new toys in 1.2.
  13. If 1v1 wasn't important when why is there a medal for an assassin kill (solo kill) and not say...capping a turret in Alderaan or passing the ball for a score, or even scoring in Huttball? Make no mistake, people like to chase certain medals, and certain classes make this difficult. So running into a brick wall for say a concealment OP vs. a tank Assy with dps gear leads to threads like this. Equal gear and skill with all CDs up, my money is on the Assy. While the above is the case, I DO NOT LIKE NERF THIS AND THAT threads. Ultimately they distract the devs from making necessary improvement/tweaks/fixes while providing the 'lemming' community with ever inceased fervor to demand more nerfs once they see that other's had their demands met. The only nerf I agree with was on concealment OPs, but not to the degree they were nerfed, there's bugs that need to be fixed (double HS anyone?) BEFORE class altering changes should even be considered. The reality of it is, if/when Assys are nerfed, then the community (lemming) will move on to ***** about some other class, so on and so forth ad nauseam.

    Marauders nerf

FYI - Gunslingers/snipers did not get nerfed, I think a few percent in crit was lost, but overall they received some nice toys to play with.

    Marauders nerf

So first it was scrapper/conceal to get homered by the nerfbat, then it's quite a few getting nerfed in 1.2 (hybrid specs, 1 button spamming, and heals in general save SB and OP Medics), with some love being spread out to a few ACs as well. Now that the community has seen the Devs will bend to their will and profess it's based on ingame 'data' supporting their decision, the community is out for blood again....and again....and again... This is a vicious cycle that is exacerbated by a PvE game trying to sport a viable PvP alternative in gameplay. In other words, take a seat and grab some munchies, cause this is going to be the main feature for a loooong time. OT: Marauders/Sents are freaking awesome, to play against and fight on the same side. Their learning curve is fairly steep, make no mistake about it. Without any mods telling you what's the next best button to press, it makes the class frantic and GCD capped from start to finish. I am am not an advocate for a nerf to them, I am an advocate for other classes being required a similar skill set to master. Easy to play, difficult to become adept, and extremely difficult to master.
  16. From what I've seen, you have to do the actual dmg to the opponent, so if you kill someone with a 5k hit and actually only did 3k to them (that's all the HP they had let) you won't get to medal.
  17. This post could be in any one of a number of cry-me-a-river threads since the patch notes were released -- My background since release is I've played an Imp OP Medic in PvP and PvE extensively HM Ops / BM rank 70+. Many of my friends think I have a problem play this game too much, but I gave them fair warning... Sorcs / sages deserve the nerf. I play my class well, really really well, with what I have all the while knowing Sorcs could produce 1.5 times my best with less effort. I've seen it so many times. I hit 666k healing in a Voidstar, not bad right? I did this once, typically healing around 500k +. If a Sorcs in full BM, like me, hit 500k healing in a Voidstar, they should be disappointed. Typically they hit 600k+ easily. Hell, even now I'm rolling a Slinger and Sages put up 350k healing in the 10-49 bracket, I think he/she was in the 30s. So in short, welcome to my world. The Op/Smug healers would like welcome you to having to play your *** off to achieve those big numbers. It's funny, but in every MMO, so many flock like sheep to the biggest and the best because they don't know how, and don't want to learn how to be effective. Exploit what's the best, and stop learning about the game. Whatever loophole, bug, or exlploi can be found to give you the edge, 99% do it forcing the devs to react. Sorcs weren't working as intended - fact. Formula for being nerfed: Most class played + very big numbers = nerf Solution??? Stop being lazy. The above is with PvP in mind, for PvE, Sorcs/Sages would blow Ops/Smugs and to a lesser extent Mercs/Coms out the water. The game just got a little more challenging, instead of welcoming a challenge, people want to hold on the ez-mode like a fat kid on his second donut. Anyone threatening with my sorc friends are quitting, or I refuse to resub, or this is game breaking to the class, display for everyone to see their naivety. So again, welcome to this thing we call ground, I'm sure cloud 9 was fun.

    Two months in..

1.2 will not be the saving grace of this game. It's too far gone, I don't care what we are told. At this point they have to double down on their competitive advantage. Voice over acting. It's the main attraction along with the companion system, and to a lesser extent the space missions. PvP is not going to be taken seriously, and the game as a whole will suffer. I mean, the evidence is everywhere... Simply by looking at leveling, and the scarcity of PvP during that time. That's not a design flaw, that's an implementation flaw. Autofacing...hold my hand while I PvP, it's scary in this WZ. It's a PvE game with voice over acting. We get it. I can see years from now the joke will be that this game was remembered for how fast I can push the spacebar. 2 months into it and I'm already seeing groups LFM who have serious spacebar skills. I'm betting their 'cool' 'new' ace-up-the-sleeve for Ilum is adding vehicles or some **** like that. I understand it's financially responsible to copy WoW, go ahead, but ignoring other games that have - and still have loyal PvPers because of the gameplay is foolish --- from a financial standpoint. Gameplay > Content first and foremost. Content can be renewed and fixed. Gameplay is where the rubber meets the road and SWTOR cannot be given accolades based on this alone -- I don't care how much you enjoy this game, run WZs and slideshow your way through Ilum until your eyes bleed when you hit 50. That's SWTOR PvP.
  19. Rift would like a word with you. Best launch I've ever seen. Build a vibrant, dynamic, and challenging PvP system with varying degrees of risk and you have players that will log on faithfully to ENJOY the game for many many many many months, or dare I say years? PvE content is what is quickly digested and thus costly i.e. company-resource-hog. PvPers can be a game's most faithful playbase, just give us a reason. Luckily something happened the other weekend that literally saved the game for me, at least temporarily... A numbers of PvP-focused guilds from both factions met up in Outlaw's Den and held a PvP event. It was tons of fun. Why? It was unlike anything I've seen in many years in any MMO. It took place outside in the open. It was unpredictable. BW/EA, stop playing it safe and protecting the bottomline. Show some guts, show some innovation, and show us why PvP matters.
  20. One change that immediately comes to mind -- make shield probe able to be casted on other friendly targets. No reason a 'moderate' dmg shield with a 45 second CD cannot be placed on anyone other than yourself. The boost for PvP and PvE would be quite noticeable. Remove the stupid need to spec into removing the healing debuff after using 'vanish,' or move it much lower on the tree. Make Recuperate Nanotech tick twice as fast with a shorter duration and a slightly less cost to energy. Give IAs a trainable passive run boost that can be stacked with the concealment tree spec like 10%. This request might be considred over-the-top, but mobility issues for us right now is bad. If this is too much, give us a friendly target or enemy target short ranged teleport, say 10-15 meters.
  21. 68 rank valor (minus Ilum's freebie week) with experience in only one tree -- medic. 500 exp 2 piece PvE Rakata/Cul -- by choice I healing **** great. I can take on 1 to sometimes 3 dps and still survive long enough for peels or a lengthy wild goose chase. Regardless of my performance, which I think is strong, I work my *** off to do this. This isn't a class where you can sip coke with one hand and heal for 300k. Be that as it may the IA Medic has glaring shortcomings. We've all heard/read them over and over. I can heal well, that's a fact, then I see that other healer ACs can heal well, ok great. Then I witness what else they bring to the table. It's astounding how effective they are, how much damage they can take, how easily they can avoid, counter, and re-enter the fight. In terms of PvP we aren't that bad, but in terms of what we bring other than heals/dps, we're terrible.
  22. Many of us aren't jumping on the bandwagon calling for nerfs. It's a vicious cycle. I don't to see my sorc friends nerfed, I would however like to have more options on the table for my class to compete more effectively. Bringing other classes, both ranged and melee, more utility is the answer that will cause closer balance.
  23. Now you're starting to amuse me, congratulations, my coffee this morning is not full of disappointment. DPS not have heals, priceless...truly.
  24. You mean trolled as in SWTOR is a legitimate PvP game?
