  1. the guardian dps set adds 10% bonus damage after jump. Also that Jugg is likely stacking power as I was on my Jugg. For me 4500-5000 damage was usually on a target of equal gear, I've done 8k smashes on undergeared people. Continue gearing up and make sure you always raise your power and surge rating.
  2. A handy piece of advice I would have for you is learning what ability each of those tiny "graphical effects" corresponds to. For example when you're at 30 stacks you start having this blue fire on your character. That's the point you should pop zen if you have all your burst set up. Once you pop zen your hands are on fire In combat, when you get a small blue flash over your lightsaber it means your ataru form hit, and therefore have the 100% crit chance proc. Getting used to all that graphic information really frees you up from having to always watch your bars and your buff bar.
  3. I am not talking about content, I don't expect a game to have the same amount of content as a game that has been out for years. However I do expect it to have some of the tools in other games (group finder for example which we finally got), and other quality of life things. If you are to compare WoW to TOR in all honesty they have the same amount of current content, because let's be honest no one really bothers with the low level raids and such in WoW. It will be interesting to see the approach the TOR team takes to keeping raids current, or whether they will follow WoW's example of just dumping content cause it's low level
  4. if there was only 1 class that was guilty of stunning I could understand the crying, but everyone can do it! I don't see what the problem is
  5. see I have a problem with this way of thinking. WoW could afford to be terrible back when it released because there really weren't many options in terms of MMOs out there. Today's market is fairly different, so why should I as a consumer be patient with the game and wait for it to "mature" and become a better product, when I have a multitude of better options. That's like being a car salesman and telling people to buy your car now, because 5 years down the road it will have all the options that the competitor's car has at the moment, and they're for the same price to boot. Why would you ever do that?
  6. i love general chat, i can taunt my friends on the other team during the match!
  7. Well my assassin is still in the 30s but deception is amazing at bursting down people really quick, you simply can't sit there and expect to be a front line fighter, you have to be a sneaky bastard to be effective as deception.
  8. so that means that a rage jugg would have 1 shot that guy with smash?
  9. I used Vette and then Jaessa. Dps companions make it much faster, yes you have to stop between fights for about 2 seconds to use your heal, but you'll be killing things 2-3 times as fast. Quinn is still useful if you're trying to solo 2mans though.
  10. as an operative healer you really shouldn't complain about this. Every time you stop to cast heals, go into cover, jugg can't leap to you.
  11. A sniper is the hard counter to melee, but there are ways to get around it. Usually snipers tend to plant themselves fairly close to walls. What you need to do is LOS them, so that they get out of cover. You then pop in and jump, and re-position yourself with your back to the wall as fast as possible. Even if they knock you back you won't be knocked back for a very long distance. That is pretty much the only way you will have a chance against a sniper, I usually just try to avoid them if I can, there's nothing that says i need to kill each and every sniper in the warzone. Taunt them to reduce their damage and then go for other targets
  12. I wouldn't worry about the BM gear stats. Yes it has a lot of accuracy, and as rage your accuracy should be about as low as you can get it. Once you move on to WH gear you will only need to replace a few mods/enhancements to get rid of that accuracy. It's much better itemized than the bm gear
  13. honestly I still think that the easiest way to get geared is by doing EV/KP story mode instead of the HM flashpoints. Try to find groups that are running that. Also make sure you try to do all the PVE daillies so you get black hole commendations. You could have some nice pieces of armor in a few weeks if you keep at those daillies.
  14. it's broken because you being a tank does absolutely nothing. Most of the damage you take in pvp is force/tech damage. That means that your shield and defence chance are close to being completely useless. In pvp at the moment flat damage reductions are much better than any amount of shield/defence your tank gear allows you to stack. That spec that was linked above is right now probably the best pvp tank spec. What I would recommend is you stack endurance with that build and then build up some of the offensive stats. The ideal way to do this would be to use the tank set armoring, but you can't really do that since the dps set bonus is vastly superior to that of the pvp tank set bonus. Go for enhancements and mods with high amounts of endurance on them and with that build. Roll in soresu form and get awesome numbers. Now that 1.3 came around the build has been slightly nerfed cause you lose 6% melee damage, but you can still dish out decent numbers.
  15. I will say what I told em in the comments when I unsubbed: After a few years of WoW you burn out real quick on this game since it's pretty much the same. I think it's a great game still and it has potential, it's just not for me as I'm burnt out on this style of gameplay. Maybe if they will do some changes to the combat I will consider coming back, otherwise I doubt it.
  16. depends on the games Huttball the ball carrier, especially if it was someone who carried our whole team, or made some awesome interception. Voidstar, guy who sneaked to the other side and planted Civil war, Novare usually to the poor guy who has to defend the node on his own
  17. if you rip out the mods and armoring from BH gear you will get the armor stats as well. In the tionse, columi, and rakata sets the set bonus is in the shell (piece of armor) and not in the armoring.
  18. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#101hMGdudMdfzZzMZcMM.2 Here's a build I made for you. You really don't need the free force scream after the jump. In a boss fight you will use that once... or maybe 3-4 times if it's a high movement fight. I personally consider it a waste, quake is better than it. You also don't need thrown gauntlet for pve, you will rarely have to use force push anyway, getting crushing fist instead of it so you can do an initial aoe burst via smash + crushing blow is much better imo.
  19. he might have just used taunts, no need to put guard on people to get the odd protection medals
  20. yeah i stopped using the bm helm cause of the clipping issues. Didn't quite enjoy seeing the top of my helm poke through my hood all the time. Does that helm have the same problem?
  21. the problem with vengeance is you don't have the on demand burst. Your greatest burst comes if the last hit on ravage crits. That's not exactly on demand. In comparison rage can drop a 5k crit almost every 12 seconds, and then you can follow it up with a scream which if it crits it means you're going to 3-4 shoot the person you're attacking. The best thing vengeance can do in rateds is put pressure on the healer who is not getting focused, but if he's any good you won't kill him.
  22. so ambush with 90% armor penetration will hit tanks for 9k and will be instant.... yup that's a solid idea!
  23. I would recommend rage as you gear up, then you can give all sort of specs a try on yourself and see which one suits your game style best. I'm recommending rage as you gear up because you can still be very useful in it. Even if you go full tank, the tank tree talents in pvp are more about control than they are about damage reduction so you will go down just as fast. And then there's vengeance which is very very gear dependent. You will feel completely useless as vengeance in recruit gear, at least as rage you'll be able to get the couple of 4k smashes. Now in top pvp, all 3 specs are useful and work quite well. You can go immortal to be guard your healers and control the dps trying to attack them. You can go vengeance to put pressure on the not focused healer, or you can go rage to burst people down really quick.
  24. They really need to make the recruit gear to be equal with the BM gear. Just take the set bonus from it, and make it blue quality so you can't swap mods out of it or anything of the sort. As much as I like 1 shooting recruit gear sages on my jugg the current gear gap is complete and utter bs.
