  1. Hmmm, I suspect Noxxic is still contaminating the internet.. DR = Diminishing Returns, it starts from the 1st point, the more you have the less you gain per point. The "cap" is how high you can get while maintaining enough Accuracy (100%'ish for PvE). I would actually start considering Alacrity once Surge passes 70%'ish.
  2. First of all, you're gimping yourself by not using Cover and leaving yourself open to interrupts, pulls, leaps and even ability pushback(!). You should bind a key to Take cover in place (if you haven't already, do not use the skill on your bar which consumes a GCD IIRC), this way you can quickly take cover when channeling a skill and IMO removes much of the annoyances some (many?) have with Cover. I'm just saying this because I see these kind of threads pop up every now and then Cover is a blessing, not a curse! That said, you're using the most mobile spec we have; the beloved Hybrid. Great burst and perfect for pillar humping (LoS) while doing good damage. Downsides are your defensive options and running around out of cover is in my experience a hazard, you're begging to be jumped/pulled/gibbed unless you're careful. I'm sure you put out some great numbers in this spec. My personal favorite is MM (aka. anti smash!), which I find very mobile once you figure it out, though it suffers from LoS issues.. doesn't bother me much
  3. If you could link a few parses both from the Dummy and boss fights, we can take a look at it 1. For your opening burst it looks fine, but don't use Shatter Shot if there is another class with armor debuff on target, a Jugg or an Arsenal Merc. You want to use FT as often as possible, this won't leave many windows to use fillers like CD or EP. Basically I try to only use CD or EP when that window presents itself, sometimes that is two full rotations before I have 1 GCD available. Also timing OS for adds can be a good idea, not only for you DPS but for the raids success! For instance against Titan 6, save it for when he lands to kill adds fast. The threat problem is a tricky one, sounds to me like you're using your aggro dump too early. You will steal aggro once you have 30% more threat than the tank (when you're outside melee range). The tanks in my raid group sometimes curse me or forget to breathe when I tell them to get ready; I start with OS (Adrenal+Relic+Bloodthrist(?)) -> SoS+SV+FT+SoS+FT then start on my normal rotation. Sometimes I grab aggro even while Guarded. What I do is delay my aggro dump as long as I can, sometimes I'll use it after one full rotation after my opener (depends on the boss and tank) or if I grab aggro (depending on the boss), I'll use after the tank has taunted so they get max aggro. If I dump aggro before they taunt, chances are the next DPS will get aggro >_< 2. Your stats looks good to me. Personally I run at 100.x% accuracy, but using 1 Accuracy augment isn't a noticeable difference in DPS. There's a thread where this is discussed, can't find it now. Doesn't matter either way IMO, we're talking 2.4 _potential_theory_crafted_ DPS or something, your skill is much more important. Alacrity? Dunno.. 3. MM is great for every boss, but will lag slightly behind on movement heavy fights like Dash'roode. The trick to excelling as MM is knowing when you can/should move without losing FT procs. I especially love MM against Titan 6, start the fight by popping Entrench within 5 seconds and it will be ready again for the 2nd Lots of missiles before take off, you can just sit there and shoot without taking noticable damage.. feels good to shower in rockets 4. Torparse.com allows you to cut the time manually on the lower left side below your parses.

  6. Always get ranged accuracy to 99.5% to 100% first, then put the rest in Surge. For PvE at least.
  7. Hehe, but I know they think that! My context is that LT is "MEH!" and I'd like a change, but not the one suggested. Guess I'm in the last category of voters. Sorry for sounding negative, but I really don't have strong feelings either way for LT.

  10. Laze Target is already underwhelming, increasing the CD 1-2 minutes just so it affects a stronger skill (Ambush, EP, TD in this case) will make it even MORE underwhelming. Might as well take it off my shortcut bar unless LT also buffs Surge or Bonus Damage or makes it a guaranteed hit. I'd rather keep it in it's current state, than nerfing it Also, by reading between the lines, BW thinks LT is a "powerful" PvP skill against tanks, since a crit is never shielded.. if they don't dodge it They have to come up with something better/creative for me to support a change in this instance.
  11. Random Sniper chiming in here ^^ Ambush is a _Special_ Attack, hover over Ranged Accuracy and you'll see 110% Accuracy on Special attacks. Ambush will never miss on an Ops Boss if you have +10% Accuracy, UNLESS you're debuffed or the mob is using some kind of deflect skill. You'll see plenty of misses on trash because of various defenses they often have. OK, back to lurking now
  12. I only ran a few matches solo queue as Lethality (I'm not very good in this spec), against an unorganized group it worked fine, great even. Lethality is not lacking in burst, you can for example delay Takedown until just before your second Cull. Burst might look like WB -> EP -> TD -> Cull -> TD. IF the target is close to 30% the Cull/DoTs are extremely deadly. A good team can probably pull it off, but smashers are a pain in any spec outside MM. I switched back to MM for the other matches, not only because of fast switching but also superior survivability, mobility and Diversion against other Snipers, also great for protecting during a hard switch.
  13. All excellent tips and advice from the two other posters, I want to touch on something else. Experience. There's always something new to learn, especially in Operations. The better you know an encounter the more DPS and less damage you will take. Always be looking for ways to improve yourself, here's what I do. Read this forum, but don't stop there.. Lurk in the Gunslinger and Flashpoint/Operations forums as well. You are sure to pick up some tactics or tricks you can exploit to improve yourself. Play some PvP! What? It will teach you to use all your skills (or die horribly), thus increasing your survivability, DPS and reaction time. Your healers will love you for using cool downs like (MM)Entrench, shield probes, Ballistic Shield etc. appropriately. Practice on the Dummy to gain muscle memory and nailing down the rotation/priorities. Upload your parses from the dummy and operations to torparse.com and compare yourself. You can also post them here and get advice from our number crunchers Solo some Flashpoints/Heroics, a good start can be The Black Hole Heroic depending on your gear. CZ-198 2+ are doable if your gear is good enough. Level 50 HM FPs? See how far you can push yourself. Have fun
  14. I agree with this, my parses support that DoT specs can double the DPS on 4.5 sec proc relics, because of MM's slow hits per second. This is why I'm thinking about switching to double BA's

I'd like it to be just _one_ big bomb (with a 2sec root or KD?), big one though, like EP only with AoE dmg ^^ It's just ridiculous how fast you can kill if you wall bang someone >_< Seriously, I've done IP > PP > stroll up the last 10-15m and Cover Pulse BANG BANG. It's just not right. Reminds me og Lineage 2 archers back in the day
  17. You can try to increase the Skill queue time, standard is 0.5 seconds. Perhaps try to set it to 1 second, with some practice/adjustment that may help It's in the Preferences somewhere.

  22. The key is to know the fight, very rarely will you have to move a lot for long periods of time. You can weave in your instants when you time the movement phase correctly
