  3. Well with the loss of 8v8 ranked and the increased importance of Arena's and short burst fights, actual damage is gonna be a tad more important to say the least. I would say you could do an update to give some pointers on that, a spec tree, and what damaging skills to use and when so to not focus-starve yourself. Other than that, great guide. read it when you first posted it and reading it now after coming back to my guardian after a year or so.
  4. it's not a joke. It's just different. swtor pvp is alot more about control than it is about damage. And yes there are alot of control options, as there are alot of escape options. This adds into a more complex pvp experience. this sometimes adds into a some imbalances between classes but other then that i would say swtor pvp is in a pretty good spot. Also bear in mind that swtor pvp has alot of snergies options, while other games usually go for the 'everyone fights alone' option If you would compare the swtor pvp system to others I think you would see alot more simplicity on other games, alot more leaning on dmg instead of control and synergies... I applaud swtor for being different in this front. However i can understand your frustration if you like pvp more damage based.
  5. Shift F & just F you mean? What build do youg guys recommend that is both high PVE dps and has good burst Potential (PVP)?
  6. Ok, after some long talks ingame yesterday i finally caved in and implemented some cover thingies. Now looking for a decent pvp build for sharpshooter. Any advice?
  7. eksqueeze me? Ive played a vanguard in low lvl pvp way back on release an a bit after. I loved the Assault tree on it. Leveled a bounty hunter on pyro as well just becuz that style just really suited my playstyle. As i came back to the game a couple weeks ago i had tried my Bounty hunter again to find that the whole pyro tree was messed up. I deleted my vangaurd becuz at that time i had to make room becuz i hadn't subbed yet and wanted to start a new toon. Choose to delete vanguard becuz i knew assaul/pyro was totally messed up, while it was my most loved playstyle. Now that i'm on a sub again and i see they're fixing Assault/Pyro tree, i can't post that i'm gonna remake my vanguard? Besides, if you hate the game, you should leave
  8. yea see the issue is not that i can not use cover. I can use it fine. The issue is that it is not how i feel a gunslinger playstyle should be. I don't have an annoyance with it, i despise it for being a main mechanic in a class that i feel story wise should be the exact opposite. i disagree Still tough, becuz of the slows and more escapes (surrender) I can still get away with being jumped from time to time. in any case. I don't hvae an issue with no being able to use cover. I just choose not too as it feels so wrong class-wise.
  9. Hi there So I love playing a gunslinger, but i, like many others really despise the cover mechanic. To me, a gunslinger should be like the one in the Returning Cinematic. When in trouble they should be able to charge in, guns blazing, with loads of Utility and damage. Now, especially in PvP ive been really looking for the build and way how to best do this. Now the goal is to use No or as litle as possible cover. Currently i got to the build posted below which does give alot of potential on CC (with the slow effects of Shock Charge/Shrap Bomb while still providing the break out extra from Dirty Trickster. It also provides a bit more Burst potential due to the buffed thermal grenade and XS Freighter as well as critical on AOE (alltough i'm not 100% sure that theram nade and shrap bomb aoe are affected by this). In this build i only use cover for pulse detonator as an 'Oh-crap'-move but other than that, no cover what so ever. Due to the utility and slows i can actually kite marauders with this pretty well build: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#700bZbIM0RMbZGbbkrbRRr.3 Currently I am really loving the playstyle of this as it's uber mobile and still has good damage potential. It also has a more Gun's Blazing feeling with the burst damage annd not necesairily have to build up all your attacks. If anyone has some tips and pointers about this build pls discuss. I was also thinking about another build by going more into sharpshooter and only taking Steady Shots 2/2, Balistic Dampers 2/2 Sharpshooter 1/3 and Cover screen 2/2. The points to get these would go out of Hotwired Defenses (-2), Arsonist(-2) and Dealer's Discount(-1). The idea behind this build would be to toggle out and into cover always just before combat (so actually not fighting inside cover) to get the 2 defense buffs for increased survivability. Alltough again. I'm not sure that balistic Dampners stay on when you leave cover. Anyone know? build: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#700rzMZbIM0kMZGbbkrbRor.3 Discuss,
