  1. Exactly. I use APM to compare my own parses, same boss and spec. I'm usually between 35-40 APM on my Sniper (MM) and have looked at other classes like Mercs/Sorcs and we can't really compare directly, I'm roughly 5 APM above these two. I think taking cover counts as an Action as well and that happens many times per minute, so that inflates the number I guess.
  2. Get into a guild, do not rely on the Group Finder, especially as DPS. Use the chat and look for a group there, then use the group finder when you have a full (decent) group. If I don't find people I know, I usually do not queue at all, this goes for all my alts too. Too frustrating hehe
  3. I've missed on a boss with 109.71% Accuracy. This was also talked about in the early days, it was "quickly" concluded that bosses have more than 8% resist/defense.
  4. I want that AMR site back.. Did some thinking and tinkering way too late yesterday, planning for Underworld gearing. Ended up buying 2x Black Market MK-2 Implants with Power Surge and the chest, yes, I had 350 Elite comms rotting away hehe I also have the Cybertech crafted earpiece with massive Cunning/Power/Surge. Still using 7 or 8 MK-6 Augments with Cunning. I lost a lot of Accuracy which I compensated by getting a 69 Enhancement from the Chest and 2x 28 Accuracy augments. Crazy using augments like that, but look here: 5x 79 Accuracy <items> = 395 Accuracy 2x 28 Accuracy Augments = 56 Total 451 Accuracy which should put me just above 100% once I'm in 168 gear! Edit: Perhaps 4x 79 enh + 4x 28 Augs are better.. 428 accuracy, need to think about this ^^ Cunning 2900+ Power 1040 Crit 89 (24.08%ish) Surge 70.xx Accuracy 411 iirc 99.71% or so 156 rating main hand and 168 offhand My plan is to switch my Implants/Ear into 168 with Accuracy/Power and remove Accuracy from Enhancements as I acquire upgrades. We'll see what I can get my hands on in the coming months. Edit: Reasoning: Enhancements are easier to change than Implants/Earpiece.
  5. Wow.. Just shy of 3k DPS on Thrasher as MM, really nice both of you. I'm switching specs a lot lately, having a lot of fun! Need to concentrate more on one of them for longer periods of time though, my fingers are slipping hehe I practically live on torparse now, and they also released an in game parser wooo! Almost got rid of most of my Crit rating too, sitting at 24% with 70% Surge after last night Elite Vendor raid.. now, if my m8s would stop beating my gimped /roll for the main hand..
  6. I've done a couple raid bosses with 130 or less Critical rating, no energy issues with the Hybrid yet.
  7. Here's my Engineering Titan 6 parse, forgot to mention it was only story mode: 2752 DPS http://www.torparse.com/a/190135/93/0/Damage+Dealt I was mainly going for the adds under the boss (like you said), saving double roll for that phase. Damage on Titan looks to be in the middle of Tralt and Amilar. Thrasher adds can be a pain, just don't stand close to the wall.. Roll duty is way more fun ^^
  8. DAMNIT!!! 2,7K DPS on Titan 6 and I manage to die 3 sec before the fight ends Hope MOX was correct hehe It was glorious..
  9. Regarding CDart, I usually ignore this skill except for: Forced movement or preparing for a burst like in the Kephess phases (should be more total DPS if you time it right?). Without looking too closely at my logs, Snipe seems to do more total damage per GCD, correct me if I'm wrong ^^ One more thing to consider if you have a Proc relic, the dot should decrease the average time per activation. Or you could say: increase the chances that you get the proc ASAP after the internal CDown, increasing uptime on the Relic. With such a relic (or two!) it would be interesting to try out the "heal while in cover" talent for an extra chance to proc the relics.. Maybe maybe?
  10. Derp, that'll teach me to double check the thread title Carry on!
  11. Cunning > Power augments. / thread
  12. Cull/Orbital without Cover, dat interrupt Failing to use your defensive CDs. Not exploiting LoS and being lured into a LoS traps. Fighting on the front lines trying to be all "marauder'ish". Failing to protect your healers! Seriously, we're excellent at it
  13. Just had to comment on this.. not being in cover is the worst kind of sniper, regardless of spec and even more so in 2.0! I cringe every time I see people ask for the "cover less" sniper spec, I spit on these people.. then I kill them!
  14. Downed Styrak SM two times specced MM, just forgotten to upload my parses.. Hmmm, can't remember what I ended up with. Think it was around 1.9k+ on the first run and over 2k the 2nd time. Your DPS goes WAY up when the dragon pops at the end! Takedown is of course awesome, but the CD is so long compared to the other finishers. WTB CD reduction on 4 set PvE, please? Then I _might_ consider dropping the 2-set PvP bonus
  15. See reply in other thread as well. Remember that MM talents give +19% crit passive to SoS/Takedown and 4% to Snipe. I crit 40-45% with SoS/Takedown with 24% crit (130 rating). You also get passive 30% Surge to SoS/Takedown/FT. We're in a good spot to drop Crit rating completely.
  16. You need about 440 Accuracy rating. I'm at 409 with 99.68% and still got 67% Surge.
  17. I don't feel that Takedown is a massive boost to MM because of the long cool down and you'll (usually) only get to shoot one TD even on elites/champions if the other DPS is up to par. It hits like a truck and should be used whenever you can, especially because it procs FT which can often be used on the next target. Fast target switching, good skill priority and knowing the fight provides the best DPS. Eating dirt is 0 DPS, so stay alive out there! ^^
  18. First of all.. stack Accuracy as close to 100% as you can get, then go for Power/Surge. Crit rating doesn't seem to be important, don't know where the sweet spot is.. I run with 130 Crit rating and that works great even with Lethality, I'm sure I could drop that for Power as well.
  19. As far as I know, we have the most to gain. Operative can easily use the old PvE bonus in PvP for a nice crit boost Wish they would change the PvE 4 set bonus to something more useful..
  20. I don't wish my horrible singing voice upon my worst enemy, let alone myself! We downed Lucky yesterday and I specced Engineer for that fight, was kinda disappointing.. Ended up with around 2.2k DPS, definitely need to practice dancing. Doing the Engineer Waltz is a thing of beauty when you don't step on any toes A sorc with similar gear was about 10% behind me.. :/ Torparse.com seems to be down atm. so I can't link yesterdays SV 16m SM first 5 fights, specced MM since I'm most comfortable with pewpew. Will post as soon as I can for scrutinizing! I seem to remember getting around 2100dps+ on Titan 6, thanks to perfectly placed Orbitals. I was about 150-200k damage ahead of the next guy ke ke ke Memorable Titan 6 moment: Just as he launched into the air I only wanted to get one more Ambush in and rolled to the rock for safety half a sec before the blast ^^ Too close! PS. Got my Verpine offhand and another piece of Arkanium armor too :3
  21. Actually, the set bonus is now stuck on the Armoring itself! Yes, I have PVP Armorings with 72 Cunning
  22. Did the same thing, I have two 63 Skill armorings with PvP set bonus and 3 more with 61s, just in case ^^ I think it's definitely still worth it to get the PvP bonus for MM and Engineer.
  23. Pretty sure I got your point, seems like we were talking to each other from different mountains. You're talking in general with experience from WoW (never played it, so I don't have that "luggage"), I'm strictly talking about SWTOR Sniper mechanics as they are per patch 2.0 Not disagreeing with your _general_ theorycrafting, just the application of it in this case. I like to be concrete and practical. With that said, people are different and will excel at one spec while being terrible at the other ones. You should play what you like and feel is better for _you_, not anyone else. We're lucky to have so many viable specs, lets hope it stays that way. Cheers!
  24. It probably is, for the reasons I stated. Really? I don't buy it, not in this game. DoTs allow you to "derp" around, MM does not allow you to do that. I see what you're saying. You could say that this is what MM would look like if we didn't have to stream Followthroughs to keep damage up, just fire off a massive Ambush every 18 seconds.. Lets stick to how the game is today My point is simply that dots "stream" steady, reliable damage, which allow you certain amount of _leniency_ in your rotation. I think you just proved my point? The hybrid exploits this mechanic (justification? compensation?) to allow for a higher net sustained damage. Hey, isn't it great that Snipers have 4 fully viable DPS builds? We can discuss it forever and probably never agree on "best" overall spec, just in certain scenarios. It's more important how you gear and how well you know your build.
