  1. How does that make any sense? The entire reasoning behind that is because losing due to an unfair advantage is never fun. PvE does not suffer this problem.
  2. Here's an idea: Allow people to earn expertise gear without pvping.
  3. Why not have a PVE stat instead of forcing people to PVP for long periods of time(Getting unfairly getting their *** kicked over and over mind you) just to get onto a competitive level.
  4. That's precisely the logic I employed. The only reason why this would work is BECAUSE of the story element involved.
  5. It's both really. It wouldn't really work as a race for any other class but as its own class with its own story, it would be really cool.
  6. There are two crucial differences: 1. The AH is a chaotic beast. Something that is profitable today may not be tomorrow. And there's not much to do to control that. 2. The money comes from somewhere who earned it one way or another. It's not just willed into existence.
  7. You never mentioned the AH. That changes everything.
  8. I find UWT trading to be a huge money sink by itself. You can't vendor any of the goods you get from it and expect a good return. I think you are lying or leaving out information.
  9. For the voiced lines, this isn't -that- big of a deal. Voice actors are really good at hammering out lines like crazy. And they aren't millionaires. Making a whole new class quest isn't a huge deal either since they don't make up a very big portion of the quests. Since I was waaay overleveled at the time, I decided to skip Aldaraan by just doing the class quest and that only took about an hour at most. The only issue I see is balancing. Rebalancing every class to fit around it would be a problem.
  10. I know they did. But getting 10x the credits of what other gathering skills get is worth it.
  11. I ran the numbers dude. Vendoring materials that you get from any other gathering node doesn't really compare to what you get from slicing nodes.
  12. Picked up slicing again recently on my alt. Slicing is still more profitable than any other gathering profession. As it should be. There's an issue here?
  13. They wouldn't do that in plain sight of a droid's perceived owner though.(In this case, it could be their companion. Which, even if the companion is dismissed, in canon it would be that their companion is present with them.) I had a whole plotline outlined of how their tutorial zone would work. It could be like the Pandaren in WoW where you start neutral but can choose an allegiance afterwards. You could either join the Imperial Military or the Republic SIS. Of which, NOBODY would want to step on their toes except their opposing governments and maybe the gangs. And of course, in true Bioware writing fashion, you'd have the option to kill the person who created you.
  14. What's stopping people who do that from killing people and selling their organs on the black market?
  15. If it was a droid who is the main character of a class story, I think they'd be more like "Holy crap! It's that one droid! We've heard a lot about you."
  16. The same way that a droid can become a gang boss or a renowned bounty hunter(Both of which are in TOR). Certain droids become reputable and well known for their exploits.
  17. 1 wouldn't work because Droids are viewed very differently compared to organics. 2 is personally what I am suggesting. Droid would be its own race and own class.
  18. How about a class that does not have a race selection? Instead, to make up for it, you'd have a wider variety of chassis that you can select from.
  19. I think that's where the story element comes in. At first, maybe your companion would just be another droid or maybe a (crazy) mechanic who believes droids are the future. And then slowly, but surely, people start realizing how competent you are as a leader despite being a droid.
  20. That uses droid parts as armor of course. Although I do have a few spreadsheets and stuff lying around for a potential new class that would fit with the style of a Battle droid, I don't really have the systems figured yet. I think it has potential for stories when you're being seen as a machine or a tool than a person. And you could either build up your infamy as an unstoppable killing machine or a sentient representative of droids everywhere. But the question I have is this: Would you like to role play a battle droid? Any suggestions for how this class would work would be much welcomed.
  21. Isn't he also the only companion that does not have a "love" preference for companion gifts? Or am I wrong on that?
  22. But but but...without Expertise then there'd be no grind. And subs wouldn't be nearly as padded out with carrots on a stick for PvPers.
  23. I completely disagree. Your cost of living, as you call it, shouldn't be easy to afford. It should require smart use of money management and making compromises. If cost of living is easy to afford, it might as well not be there. It should require work and having a lot of money should be meaningful.
  24. I wouldn't want to turn the profession into a crafting profession. After all, that's why people picked it up. I'd rather have it be a service profession instead. And I literally made this suggestion two minutes before you did.
