  1. Haha are you serious What are you, in seventh grade or something? Biochem is still the best profession in the game by far, even after the nerfs. I don't know what about the situation "spells disaster" lmao armchair economics ahahahaha
  2. Oh, the two are not mutually exclusive. Biochem is fundamentally better than all the crafting skills now, and would still be better even if each skill were buffed to allow more powerful gear/whatever they make. The reusable consumables are, in terms of time/effort/credits saved, almost infinitely valuable. They're a really COOL idea, but they're also pretty gamebreaking.
  3. The "hybrid tax" is one of the few aspects of Blizzard's design philosophy for World of Warcraft that were just plain terrible. The idea of being weaker in your chosen role because you have the potential to take on a different role was fundamentally flawed in a variety of ways, and even Blizzard didn't really defend or enforce their stance on the issue. SWTOR does not need to take on the same philosophy, and indeed should not. That being said, giving pures more utility is a good idea that I can get behind. All classes should feel like they bring something to the table beyond damage, tanking, or healing.
  4. Yeah, Biochem is kinda brokenly overpowered right now.
  5. Healing is very strong in this game, and interrupts are very weak outside of Jedi Guardians/Sith Juggernauts. If you're having trouble as a healer in PvP, you're either getting focused (in which case you deserve to die), or you're not using all your tools and/or are a bad player. Both can actually be alleviated by good team support, but good team support is not necessary unless you're being focused.
  6. Zealous Leap actually causes Force Sweep to get an automatic crit, too. Shoot First and Back Blast have high crit rates, but nowhere near 100%. Guardians can force a crit at will, and do as much damage to multiple players as a Scoundrel can to a single one. The point is not to call for nerfs (except biochem), the point is that people really haven't been playing long enough to make any proper judgment of balance, ESPECIALLY before the 50's bracket is in.
  7. Maybe you're a terrible player.
  8. This video is meaningless, you can clearly see -Relic buff -Adrenal buff -Stim buff On the operative. Those are what give him the ridiculous damage output, when all stacked together. Show me a video of someone doing the same thing without those, and I might be impressed. Till then, it really doesn't say anything except "biochem and short-term buffs are broken."

    OP Operative

    lmao aaaaaaaaaaand /thread
  10. lol yeah, I was in that warzone, bigfoot was playing patty-cake with dracula on the east point.
  11. I don't know you, so I don't want to call you a liar, but if you had your shield up, and he didn't have Biochem, I find it really difficult to believe he instagibbed you with the gear you've got. I mean, I'm speaking anecdotally, but I just don't hit anywhere near hard enough to do that, even if all three attacks crit. The shield absorbs too much, and if the enemy has expertise it is noticeable. I can three shot non-50's, sometimes, I've reached that point. If they have no CD up and their gear isn't top notch I can faceplant and kill non-bounty hunters/juggs inside of the stun if I pop my trinket. But 50's, it just doesn't happen. Was he stacking crit/surge? What were his gearing choices like? These are actual important questions, because it means the performance of the class could differ widely based on the scaling of one or two stats. I still think the main problem is Biochem, and that a level 50 bracket will help a lot. After that gets nerfed I think everyone will need to play more games and re-evaluate how things are currently balanced.
  12. Are you 50? If not, wait for pvp brackets, that will solve your particular problem. If you are, then your real problem is with biochem, because he was using stims/adrenals to get massive stat boosts. The class itself is not to blame, it's the scaling of certain stats that needs to be toned down.
  13. You..You mean you know about adrenals? Wow. Most people don't really understand how not all scoundrels/ops are biochemists, so not all of us have access to those.
  14. This. But people are a bit slow to catch on to the real culprit. If Scoundrel/Operative burst gets toned down, people will see the jedi melee classes as overpowered now for some reason, because there will be biochemists abusing the stat buffs they get access to, and dealing just as much damage as before. I think the main reason people haven't realized Biochem is the real culprit is because there's no visual indicator. You cant tell at a glance if your opponent (especially someone who stealths after killing you) is using stims/adrenals. You have to look at their buff bar.
  15. This video is particularly amusing because of the lack of shield. Do you know what my opening combo does to an inquisitor with their shield up? It takes them to 80% life, pretty much all of the time. Shoot first is completely absorbed by it, and Backblast hits for about 800 less than usual. After this, they have a pretty excellent chance against me if they know how to play their class. But what a surprise, a geared level 50 can wreck a class in light armor that doesn't use its primary damage reduction spell, if all three attacks crit AND he uses a stim buff, adrenal, and relic (and it's very clear in the video, you can see it on his buff bar after he opens on the inquisitor). I never would've thought that could be possible! It's almost as if Biochem, with its reusable stims and adrenals, were giving some kind of disproportionately large advantage to players that take it. I wonder if there's already a thread on the forums about that. I wonder.
  16. People have already started realizing that any class can be overpowered. I'm surprised it happened this quickly, the whining about Scoundrels/Operatives was still going pretty strong. But Sith Warrior/Jedi Knight is a really strong class that can do in an AOE what an op/scoundrel can do to a single target. I've seen it in a video. I'd like to hope Bioware doesn't kneejerk react to the whining and nerf a class that probably isn't overpowered in a game with level brackets for PvP (especially when a lot doubt the PvE viability of the tree for sustained damage already). They could cripple the population of what is easily the least popular two classes in the game. They need to use a light touch, if they do anything at all, or all players will be using lightsabers and assault cannons.
  17. Yeah, I agree. Jedi Knights are definitely very strong in PvP.
  18. This thread is insane. I've been posting on internet forums for over a decade and never have I seen anything this ridiculous. Bioware is clueless and needs to delete this thread, HARD.
  19. nah also, in before mod close
  20. I'm just going to link this anytime someone says Scoundrels/Operatives are overpowered. The AOE 5k crit was what really sealed the deal.
  21. The escape ability is designed for emergencies where you need to get out of CC immediately or you won't when the fight. If you're blowing it to get out of stupid crap like force choke or an immobilize that's your problem. Save it for the dangerous stuff.
