  1. the nerf to surge effected all classes, try replacing some surge with power to make up for it, you still won't crit as hard, but you'll have better sustained damage.
  2. I stopped reading here, because I'm pretty sure that a sage/sorcerer can't get points for protection, unless their bubble gives it, but I don't believe it does. If a sage/sorcerer top the healing, they almost certainly will not top damage at the same time. A shadow/assassin can however come close to topping damage and protection if they are speced correctly and use their taunts wisely, but they won't be topping any healing lists. So what I'm saying is I highly doubt that a sage/sorcerer is topping all 3 at the same time. Actually I'm pretty sure there is no class out there that can heal and give protection, it's one or the other.
  3. With the exception of Master Strike/the marauder equivalent, it would seem as though melee can do their full DPS while moving, and ranged can't. Just pointing that out.
  4. I see what you did there. I rolled a Scoundrel just to see what all the commotion was about. After being popped out of stealth a number of times and realizing that without having tons of expertise and 400 biochem, their damage isn't really all that spectacular, and after their opening they are just a bad mid range melee class with a few tricks. Although it is fun to spam the 6 second cool down grenade on the void star door and running away just to come back and do it again, just so they can't plant the bomb.
  5. Very familiar with adrenals, since I am also a biochemist. I picked it before I knew how awesome it was. I actually picked it because I enjoy having the consumables, and I find most other trades to be less effective due to the fact that I usually gear through PvP.
  6. There is actually a very simple, yet effective tactic that can be used when dealing with Operatives and Scoundrels. I understand that this only works when a Trooper or Bounty Hunter is present, however it can completely shut down a stealther. They have an ability that reveals any stealth in a 30 meter diameter for 10 seconds, on a 20 second cool down. Since the opening combo of these stealth classes requires stealth, popping them out will either make them a bad melee class with no survive ability, or force them to blow their vanish skill which has a 3 minute cool down, exactly 18 times longer than the periods in between the scans. If you drop your stealth scan but miss, a stealther can indeed wait the 10 second duration, or go around it, however every second that they are stealthed and not in combat, they aren't being productive for their team. If you or someone you pvp with plays a trooper or bounty hunter, advise them to spam this skill as much as possible. If in a war zone, the 30 meter diameter is usually enough to cover the doorways/ramps in Alderaan, gaps in between pillars and on the bridges in Voidstar, and many of the ramps and top walkways in Huttball. If used expertly, stealth scan can turn a Operative's / Scoundrel's biggest strength into a weakness since they have to rely on it. I know this isn't a 100% fool-proof solution, just a reminder that 25% of the existing classes on each side have a skill to counter 25% of the total classes on the other side. Also, if they sneak up on you and attack, and you blow your get out of stun free skill, then proceed to stun them, you can lay the stealth scan down directly on them where they will then have to run 15 meters in a direction before being able to vanish, thus giving you an opportunity to inflict some serious damage, especially if you have some team mates around. TLDR: Spam stealth scan. They are easy to deal with if they don't get their opener. Call me a noob and tell me that they are clearly imbalanced because they do so much damage when they pop 3 min adrenal cool downs and get the red buff.
  7. A good way in my opinion to make world PvP more attractive is to: 1. Don't implement instenced pvp (too late, people who like pvp would have to resort to doing it in the world) 2. No rewards for ganking lower players (this one is obvious) 3. Implement a system that provides extra rewards to the clearly underpopulated/less played faction to act as a deterrent for playing the overpopulated faction. (As an attempt to keep it balanced) 4. Fun objectives (capture this, destroy that, kill XXX amount of other players, all at the same time perhaps)
  8. I understand what arena is supposed to be. A controlled environment like you said, that puts teams against other teams that are supposed to be equal. However, to me, it seems that what actually happened, was it gave players an excuse to act rude and ignorant because they feel as though their high rating makes them superior to every other player out there.
  9. I agree that World PvP is the best form of PvP. And for anyone who says "But people just zerg each other, therefore there is no skill involved" again, are the people that need to in some way feel superior on the internet for whatever reason, and feel that they can't stand out while being part of a large team. Does the military solve conflicts by setting up a square with 4 pillars, taking their best 2-5 soldiers and put them against the other army's best 2-5 soldiers to solve conflicts? No. They Don't.
  10. Either didn't read the post, or doesn't understand satire.
  11. It's actually quite simple. The real reason most of us want arena based PvP is because we have self esteem issues that can only be resolved by having a concrete number that displays our ability to: 1. Find the most imbalanced class composition. (Don't say it isn't true, go check 3v3 teams in WoW, most of the highest ranked ones are Rogue, Shaman, Warlock) 2. Out gear the opposite team. and finally.. 3. Play better than the other team. Without having arena and rankings, we have no way to boost our egos and flex our muscles online due to the fact that there is no concrete evidence saying how good we are! And how can you talk trash to other teams when you win in War Zones as they can just blame it on their other teammates being bad, because it's never their fault they lost? At least with arenas you have to make a team, and when you lose it's because you're just bad. Not because you play the classes you want to play instead of mathematically finding the best possible composition. (Yay World of Spreadsheets!). Sure some teams might be illegitimately bad, however who's right is it to say that they aren't allowed to enjoy arena just like everyone else who pays a subscription? What ever happened to Sportsmanship anyway? Back when I was younger, when playing a game or sport against another person or team. The winner usually said stuff along the lines of "It was close" or "that was a really good game". Now all that comes from the majority of winners are lines similar to "NOOB YOU"RE BAD" "LOLOL LEARN TO PLAY" "I"M 2XXX ARENA WHICH MEANS I"M BETTER THAN YOU" When did competition becomes so vile? Is it because of the anonymity of the internet? In my opinion real player vs players happens on the forums. That's where all of the real hostility and aggression is. Don't believe me? Check out many of the posts and replies. And THAT is why we need arena. TLDR: I have low self esteem and can only feel better about myself by having a higher rating than everyone else in arena so I can say they suck.
  12. These were all taken in the same day. They were just about all of the War Zones that I was in that day. http://i.imgur.com/pTqSu.jpg http://i.imgur.com/UGuzq.jpg http://i.imgur.com/RKlN9.jpg http://i.imgur.com/dxnCV.jpg http://i.imgur.com/gky7Q.jpg http://i.imgur.com/aEnHE.jpg So, Just because your Republic sucks, doesn't mean all of the republic sucks.
  13. Which is exactly why my commando is body type 1.
  14. I'm also going to be on RPPVP on the East Coast as are all of my friends, therefore I don't think it's THAT unpopular. I didn't know there was only 1, I would of assumed there was at least 3, oh well.
